Vollduplex mit zwei Häusern mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern, beide mit freiem Blick auf den Golf von Mexiko. Dies ist ein großartiges Hotel für einen Urlaub mit Familie und Freunden. Dies ist eine wirklich schöne Einrichtung, wenn Sie mit 2 Familien oder Gruppen mit unterschiedlichen Aktivitätsstufen Urlaub machen, da alle tagsüber zusammen sein können, sich aber am Ende der Nacht an ihren eigenen Platz zurückziehen können, wenn sie bereit sind, sich zu entspannen.

Perfect

My kids and grandkids enjoyed our stay. We saw sea turtles, tarpons, manatees and a nurse shark. We absolutely loved the central location. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent spot

Great for families to use both sides. Nice outdoor area. Nice to have use of the kayaks. Joe was very responsive and accommodating! Easy communication. Fantastic view and great location!! Everything was as advertised! We truly enjoyed our stay!

Great location and access to Gulf also. Plenty of room for both boats and plenty of parking. Good boat ramp close by. Will definitely will try to stay here again.

Lovely stay on marathon key

Hated to leave this place. We all had a wonderful time our favorite thing was hanging out at the dock in the back. We even had a family of manatees come right up to us. Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Joe and Debbie are very good to help or answer any questions.

Wonderful experience!!

We had such an amazing stay!! So much so, we are thinking of getting a property ourself! This location was amazing! Renting a boat is a must! Owners were easy to work with and gave recommendations of places to eat, shop, see, rent boats, etc. We saw manatees, beautiful dog, and turtles right outside on the dock area. Such a great place!

Great property

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the property. The location was great! Beautiful view of cove. The only issue we had was the lack of basic supplies upon arrival…toilet paper, paper towels. Overall however, it was a great experience and I would recommend the property to anyone looking for a nice, centrally located property.

Great week in Marathon!

This property was perfect for our family. We had our adult children and grandchildren with us for the week. Visiting Key West and seeing the sites in the middle Keys were all easy from this location. We rented a boat one day and used the dock. It was a fantastic week.

An amazing ocean view

Beautiful property ocean view. Breathtaking sunsets. Manatee and loggerhead sea turtle sightings. The nights are filled with stars. Debbie the property manager was amazing. She was helpful and so very nice. We truly felt like we were home.

Greatest sunset around!

Went with my family for the week. We loved it! The property is the perfect spot fir views of the cove, the sunset, morning coffee. Absolutely loved it! The manatee came one day which was one of the highlights of the trip. Three different manatee (we named each). A neighbor told us to give them water. They were adorable! We also saw a spotted ray in the cove and a turtle was a daily visitor as well.

Fantastic stay

Very clean! Attentive hosts! We rented both sides of the duplex. Plenty of space for all- we had 9 adults and 2 children. We brought 2 boats with us. Plenty of dock area with hoses for washing the boats and equipment off. We really enjoyed the view, as well as the wildlife that we saw in the cove: we saw manatees, tarpon, Iguanas, and turtles galore! Great sunsets. Close to everything. The owner sent a list of restaurants, shopping and things to do that was very helpful. Would stay here again!!!

Great stay for large family- needs a few repairs

We had a great time staying at this duplex in Marathon! The location was great and we loved being right on the water. The access to kayaks was amazing and we saw several iguanas on the property and some really cool parrot fish! Communication with the host was great as well as with the property manager Debbie. Check-in and check-out went smoothly.I only put it at 4 stars because there were a few things that weren't working which you would expect to. One half of the duplex is much newer than the other- the older duplex had one shower that barely dripped out any water, the shade in one of the bedrooms was completely torn, and in the other duplex the garbage disposal did not work. We managed without these things totally fine, but obviously would've been ideal to not have any issues. Overall would stay here again and would recommend to large families trying to have a vacay in the keys!

Family trip

We had a great time on our trip but traveling with kids I thought they would be able to cool off/swim in the cove but due to it not having a big opening/a lot off clean water flow through it there was dead fish heads and bodies from near by homes cleaning then throwing it into the cove. This wasn’t a huge deal but I probably would have book another place since the kids didn’t really want to swiM in the cove. The road noise is pretty loud in the morning and located right next to airport. The cars where actually disrupting our sleep more then the planes. The duplex was clean and comfortable. Great location to restaurants and boat dock only 2 min away. We saw a lot of sea turtles in the cove and tarpon.

Thank you for the review. I'm not really sure how to respond to your complaints about fish heads as it's not really something you'd normally see in a property review. I would agree that fish heads aren't fun to swim with - they just lay there. There was a net in the storage if you wanted to remove the fish heads. There's also a great spot that you can get to with the kayaks just over the cove (shallow, sandy bottom, super clear, lots to see). On the road noise, in July we did have extra traffic on Aviation Blvd - they are relocating the electric poles to make a bike path. It should be nice when they complete and I believe most of the heavier work is near completion.

Beautiful outside setting, no need to leave!

This property has the best water setting we've stayed at in years. We love to fish and just enjoy being outside in the weather. The hammock was great for Grandma and the seating was plenty. However, I would have loved a recliner to sleep in :) Don't forget your bug spray (common for Florida). We enjoyed manatees and the local loggerhead turtle. My husband caught a few regulation size fish. Marathon is a great location as there are fish markets and grocery stores close by. An hour drive to Key West and 20 minutes to Bahia Honda. The only draw back was it is right across the street from the Marathon airport, which we knew. For those light sleepers, such as myself, it was difficult as they do helicopter tours from there which don't end until 11 pm. Planes started as early as 6 am. We still felt it the lagoon setting was worth the noise.

We had a large group and had a big time! There is plenty of room to spread out and the view! The view is amazing! The best location to do whatever you wanted. Houses were clean and fully equipped for all of your needs. Sea wall was wonderful! We tied up both boats and was so easy to get on and off. Had a nice storage room to keep all our boat stuff and a “stinky” bait freezer! Lol. It’s a bait refrigerator and freezer! What would anyone expect but stinky’. Can’t say enough about this place. The manatees hang out. When one is Coming down the canal the people down the canal echo manatees are coming! So exciting! We caught fish! We used the awesome kayaks that were provided! Pictures are great but can’t do enough justice for this place! We will be back!

Excellent Lobster Trip 2016

What a beautiful duplex that comfortably accommodated our party of 10 for lobster mini season. The location is extremely convenient and so easy to access the water without having to deal with chaos of Vaca cut. The duplex easily accommodated our 28 foot boot for the week, with no issues to dock our boat. The houses are divided so provided privacy to all guests. We all enjoyed meeting for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening under the house that provided a great entertaining space. There were ample amount of towels and linens. The kitchens were comfortably stocked and provided everything we needed and more. We made breakfast in the house and lots of appetizers. While we had 10 adults, this would also be a good unit to use with older kids. We had easy access by car to several of our favorite restaurants in town and just a short drive for day adventure to Key West. The owners were extremely responsive while booking, before our reservation began and even while we were enjoying our vacation. We had an absolute great time, and definitely would love to stay here again.

In Need of Maintenance

I want to give a fair review and just be truthful with our experience with renting this duplex. We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed our stay but there were some frustration and I believe that the owner just needs to be aware of some of the issues. The 2 major issues were that the doors did not lock properly. One of duplex’s did not lock at all so every day we put our valuables in the car to lock them up. The other main issue was that the dock as it was unsafe, especially with young children and could be a potential liability for the owner. We were told that it was from recent storm damage, but it is clearly from neglect as all other docks in the area are in perfect shape. We were almost not able to rent a boat as they came over to inspect and said that it has been neglected. As far as the inside of the duplex’s it is mostly cosmetic neglect, lack of cooking utensils and supplies. It is a shame because it is a beautiful property and lagoon but is just in desperate need of repair. It has the potential to be a great property but right now we would not stay there again.

I'll start out by saying that the dock pilings that this customer is complaining about have been repaired. It was damaged by a September storm and unfortunately it was not possible to repair it prior to this guests stay. They were informed in advance and could have made alternate lodging arrangements. We're not sure why she would question us on the cause as we informed her 2 weeks prior to their stay that the new pilings wouldn’t be in place in-time. It was an unfortunate situation and we wanted her to know so that she could make necessary arrangements with the boat rental company or make alternate lodging arrangements. We can't control mother nature and this system was well documented. As far neighbors’ docks being perfect – they weren’t damaged by the storm because they didn’t have boats tied to them at the time of storm 7 (guest boats pulling on the pilings caused the damage). We also advised the boat rental company that they would have to provide larger fenders. It obviously must have worked out because they rented them a boat after seeing the dock. I'm not sure how lack of wood pilings on a seawall would endanger children – they aren’t used to tie up boats, not children.  There was a reported problem with one of the locks and it was repaired on that Monday (check-in was Saturday and the customer told us about the problem mid-day on Sunday). I'm honestly not surprised by the negative review. This guest wore us down with multiple daily requests for minor items. First they wanted more bikes than the home came with - we provided them from another home. She had trouble turning on the lights, fans, locking doors, needed directions to locations, etc. To be more specific on the lack of utensils, she requested muffin tins and a food processor and was upset we wouldn't go purchased these items for her. Muffin Tin???? She was a very high maintenance guest to say the least. In closing, as you can see by the other reviews, this property gets consistent 4-5 star ratings.

Wonderful Time

The house location was perfect. We had the most wonderful view. We had lots of sea life visit us daily. Mannie the Manatee as my wife and kids named him, visited us every morning. The Tarpon were very lively. Mr. & Mrs. Pelican stopped by often. A white crane stopped to hangout while fishing off the back dock. The houses were perfect for us, a family of ten that came to stay. Plenty of room and the outside area was what we loved most. My kids took the kayaks out a few times which they really loved. All in all a great location to everything and will definitely be back.

Great location

This house I had a great location. Easy to get around marathon great views. Debbie the manager was responsive. There was a large group in there before us and a few things needed fixed.

Family vacation

We had an excellent time. There was plenty of room for everyone to be together or spread out. The views were amazing. There was so much to do if you wanted to be active. From the bikes to the kayaks, fishing, swimming, and just looking at the stars at night. It was a wonderful time!

I am a married father of two, avid hockey player and fishing enthusiast with a successful track record in waterfront real estate operations and investments. I had always enjoyed my visit to the Keys over the years as I just found the area so unique. I thought it be cool to have a place in the keys that I could use when I visited. Crystal clear waters with sandy white bottoms, warm temps year round, incredible water views, the best fishing and diving available in the Continental U.S. I couldn't think of a better place to own a vacation home. While searching for that perfect Keys home, and having rented homes for my own vacations in the past, I made the decision to only buy a home that could also be a vacation rental. This meant that it had to have an open water view, good accessible dock, and that could be legally rented by the week. I purchase my first property in the City of Marathon in 2009. Today I run a small successful vacation home rental business with 5 homes with my wife Mary.

Why I chose Marathon, FL

Marathon's central location in the Middle Keys was the clear choice. Investment was starting to come into the area after the economic recession. Far enough away from the hustles of life but with the conveniences most people want when they vacation. Marathon was also one of the few areas of the Keys where you can rent homes by the week. All the basic necessities to call it home for many with 2 grocery stores, a Home Depot, library, parks and marine oriented businesses plus a few dozen restaurants/bars, boat rentals, charters and dive shops for its vibrant tourism industry.

So much to do right within the city limits or your backyard if you rent one of our homes. Visit historic Key West, less than an hour drive away.
