70 Day stay

My dad recently had a stem cell transplant at Ochsner and we were required to stay in New Orleans for 70 days after. We stayed at Ariel’s property in Metairie and could not have been more pleased with our stay. It was everything we needed for my dad’s recovery process. Ariel checked on us periodically and the check in/check out process was very straight forward. We would definitely recommend this property.

I'm so sorry your stay was impacted by these inconveniences. The Firestick simply fizzled out as you arrived. However, I did send someone over to inspect it and offer you the opportunity to be reimbursed for picking up another one from the Target across the street. Unfortunately, there were no servicers available to look at the washing machine before the end of your stay, but I directed you to the on-site laundromat which is 1 min away on foot. Overall, I hope the stay was peaceful and comfortable given the amenities in unit and property-wide.

Condo hot

Condo was very comfortable including beds & sofa, spotless, well organized. Host was responsive & pleasant. Negative is that we had no control over the temperature in the condo & we found it hot. Thermostat was locked, when I asked for the code to control thermostat myself host said I would need to give her a deposit & pay for extra electric used. I should have none this before I rented the condo for a month. Host said she was reviewing the policy & may change it. Host very clear that condo on second floor but less clear, at least to me, that the condo is a two story condo & bedrooms are upstairs. I was recovering from a broken ankle so it was challenging.

Thanks for the review, Mary. All you've said is true, but it's worth mentioning that the thermostat is locked between 72-76 (cool/hot) degrees. When I did a post-move out inspection, I found that you accidentally had the heat on. This is why you were hot. For your knowledge, in order to offer competitive rates, VRBO hosts commonly lock thermostats at a reasonable temperature range. Your rate was $75/night with minimal extra fees. Meanwhile, budget hotels nearby offering much less comfort, space & amenities price rooms at $105 per night on average. Most guests are comfortable with the trade off of less temp control for lower nightly rates, but I have indeed adjusted my prices to accommodate free usage of the thermostat moving forward. Regarding the layout of the unit, I did mention the second interior floor when we spoke via phone prior to your check in. However, I recall you stating that you "wouldn't remember all of this." Please know that the intention of this call was to discuss any and all needs you may have had. You also had the ability to inquire about the property via messages prior to booking. I understand being accustomed to the all inclusive and generically laid-out nature of hotels, but each VRBO host's offerings are unique. Since you mentioned being newer to VRBO, in the future, I advise you to discuss your needs and ensure a property works for you prior to booking.
