Michael - while we appreciate your review and that you enjoyed your stay, it is very clear on the map and in our listing details EXACTLY where we are located (top of Main Street and start of Madaket road). Your personal preference of where we are located should not warrant taking away a star, and we are disappointed that is how you chose to rate us when everything about your stay was great. And if you put a pin to 6 Madaket Road (our home) to Murray’s Togglery shop (downtown, on Main Street), it is .6miles. If you don’t like walking at all, maybe our location isn’t the best for you and next time we would advise you stay at a hotel in the heart of downtown. However, it seems you aren’t a fan of noise, so be cautious on many of the hotel locations downtown. As for safety, we are on the main road that leads out to Madaket that can get busy in the spring and summer months. But our property is well enclosed. I quite enjoy watching the bikers and pedestrians walking by on the bike path daily. We have many neighbors on Madaket Road who have small children and do not feel unsafe. It’s unfortunate that sometimes summer drivers can go too fast and we hope the town will implement some speed bumps around the island. Hopefully you can find what you looking for in a location next time you visit nantucket. But it is rare to find a beautiful house like ours walking distance to the center of downtown with a pool!
