House with a renovated courtyard—"Le Cocon d'Albi"—5 minutes from downtown

We are Hélène and Jérôme , a couple with a love for beautiful character homes. A little less than a year ago, we fell in love with this ideally located house in Albi, set in a truly privileged location.

We decided to renovate it entirely, with care and passion, to restore all of its charm while creating a warm, cosy, and welcoming atmosphere. Every space has been thoughtfully designed: the kitchen, which retains all of its character, the inviting living room, the peaceful bedroom, and the tastefully renovated bathroom.

One of the house’s greatest assets is undoubtedly its inner courtyard, a truly rare gem in the heart of Albi. Intimate, charming, and full of character, it offers a precious outdoor space, perfect for enjoying quiet moments.

The house also has a particularly convenient feature: it can be accessed through its main entrance on the boulevard side, as well as through a green gate on the courtyard side, which leads directly into this magnificent inner courtyard.

We wanted to turn this house into a unique place: authentic, comfortable, and full of charm, where you feel at home from the very first moment.

We chose this house in the Madeleine district because it is, above all, one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Albi among locals and those who know the city well.

It is also a neighbourhood located just opposite the city centre and the majestic Sainte-Cécile Cathedral. You simply need to cross the Pont Vieux, the Pont Neuf, or now the footbridge to reach the heart of Albi.

We also chose this area for its Saturday morning market, much loved by the people of Albi for its delicious local produce and regional specialities.

The house is unique for several reasons.

First, because of its location. Secondly, because it has an inner courtyard, which is very rare for a 60 m² property in Albi. Thirdly, because of its peaceful atmosphere.

When you are in the courtyard, enjoying breakfast in the morning or having lunch or dinner, you may hear a little of the boulevard in the distance, but you will still feel as though you are in a true haven of peace, overlooking the dry garden that has been carefully renovated, just like the house itself.

This home is also unique because we renovated it with taste, care, and passion. We wanted every space — the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, and the bedroom — to make each traveller feel welcome and eager to discover this cosy, warm, and peaceful retreat.
