Ruined 25th Wedding Anniversary
We drove all the way to the property, checked in per the instructions, went to the unit, just to find out that several units in the "stack" didn't have power and shouldn't have been rented. Contacted the owner who had been made aware of the situation weeks in advance, just for him to act surprised like he didn't know. The property manager had sent over 40+ notices via 2 different forms of contact to make all owners aware. My husband and I were basically homeless!! One of the employees at the check-in gate advised us to contact VRBO to make them aware of the situation. VRBO put us up in a horrible looking Red Roof Inn that seemed to have people living there. There were people arguing, yelling, and cursing outside our door for most of the night and animal hair everywhere. My husband has allergies...I slept in my clothes. The next morning, we had to check in with the property to see if they were going to be done with the repairs and were told they were not, so VRBO put us up in another, and thank God , much better hotel. The property owner would not concede and I forgot to mention, they graciously offered to allow us to stay in the unit, without power, the first night. What the hell??? Anyway, we reluctantly headed home having to pay out of pocket for somewhere to stay on the way back. THIS WAS THE WORSE VRBO OWNER EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I WOULDN'T STAY AT THEIR PROPERTY FOR FREE. THE only good thing was how quickly we were refunded. Can't leave stars blank, so...
