Lakefront cabin offering a dock, beach, kayaks, top-tier fishing, and immediate access to ATV/Snowmobile trails! Only 8 minutes from Hayward and and located on one of the most pristine lakes in Wisconsin for walleye ice fishing! In the summer, after a perfect day of swimming right off the dock in the crystal clear warm waters of the lake, soak up the breathtaking sunset on one of our two decks. In the winter months cozy up to the warmth and glow of the wood burning indoor fireplace after a snowmobile ride or snow shoe hike on one many of the nearby beautiful trails! ****This cabin also offers a great space for large families boasting two kitchens!!

Great place and location

This property was perfect for a trip to Hayward. The property had tons of space for our group of 8. It was very clean and had everything we needed.

Beautiful place and lake.

The house was large and well stocked. It was clean and had great access to the lake. The pier was a perfect place for the kids to play and to dock our boat and jet ski safely. Amy was in contact with us when we needed to speak with her which was truly appreciated. We would love to visit again!

Beautiful lake property. Loved the decks, fire ring area, Dock and swimming area. Spent most of our time outdoors. The enclosed porch has been altered from the picture, It is only 1/2 the size ~as a Side by side is now stored in the other half of the screened in porch. That was a disappointment as we would have used that area more. The owners are very responsive to any questions or needs. I bring my “timeshare box” with me as many times kitchens are not adequate for our needs. There are plenty of pans and serving bowls just not high quality. Remember, It’s the Northwoods and a cabin. Our first night we were treated to firewood and a smore box. Very nice. Thank you.

We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay Nancy! The previous porch when we purchased the property a year ago was unusable due to conditions it was in so we were excited to completely renovate this area for our guests…this included all new windows, furniture, paint, carpet, and more. Our hope is although the area is smaller it is much more enjoyable than previously. Thank you for the reminder about the photos as we do need to update the pictures to reflect many of the updates we’ve done this spring throughout the property. We are working towards upgrading kitchen utensils as well for next season! All the best! ~Amy

Disappointed Birkie Skiers

I would not recommend this cabin for any skier/spectator or fan of the American Birkebeiner looking to stay warm or get warm after a long day in the WI Northwoods. From unlocked doors to an unwelcoming host - we found the cabin at 50 digress with a Smart Heater that didn’t have directions to left over food on the counter, not to mention a bed that was unmade and had clearly been slept in prior to our arrival. The disappointment continued through out the week when the cabin (which is clearly two cabins connected by a hallway that also is considered the”bunk room”) we came home repeatedly to a cold cabin … Not to mention a fireplace that wasn’t useable. I saw this cabin was double the cost for the winter of 2025 and was absolutely appalled. As a long time VRBO user - this is my first negative experience and I felt it important share.

Hi Emalea, we are saddened to hear you did not enjoy your stay as you were a repeat guest with us! I was not made aware of the furnace issue, as our welcome guide states we absolutely encourage guests to contact our property manager as well as myself if any issue occurs such as this…unfortunately no contact was made to let us know. The fireplace does work well and if you would choose to stay in the future we can go over the function of it prior to your arrival. With the remodel of our porch and work being done to it prior to your stay to get it ready for the summer, the door could not be locked in the back. We do have neighbors who keep a very close eye on the property to ensure safety of all guests during this time while we make improvements. We want all of our guests to feel welcome and that they are getting a great experience when they stay…unfortunately there was absolutely zero communication around the issues at hand, as we would have resolved them immediately for you had we known. We hope you reconsider staying with us again due to the uniqueness of these circumstances!

Amazing stay

We had a great experience here!! Water at dock was so clean and clear and kids loved swimming off the dock!! The space was great for a large family to stay at and ATV trails were not to far away!! By far the best cabin we have ever stayed at so far!

Great location, needs some TLC

Location is great, beautiful sunset spot. Close to town, which is very convenient. Lots of room, and the two kitchens, were very convenient as well. Unfortunately all of the beds are very uncomfortable. Almost all of the cookware was dirty, broken, scratched, and basic items missing. Not a single sharp knife in the building, and limited utensils for using the grill. This could easily be 5/5 stars with some upgrades and upkeep.

Thank you for review Chris! The property is under new ownership as of June 2023 and we have replaced and upgraded mattresses to improve guest comfort. All kitchen items that are broken, damaged, and missing have also been replaced. We are dedicated on continuous improvement on the property so meet the satisfaction of our guests! OUTSIDE:
*This cozy cabin is on Grindstone Lake - 3,176 acres of pristine, crystal clear water with *Access to a dock (seasonal) to bring your boat or rent one nearby to spend quality time with family and friends on the lake. Cabin comes with 1 dedicated dock on a shared pier. The dedicated dock is the leftmost slip when facing the lake. A public boat launch is about 2 miles to the West of the cabin.
*Two swim platforms are right off the pier.
*Two 10-foot kayaks with paddles are kept under the small deck for guest use.
*Firepit with outdoor chairs - must provide own wood.
*Grills - 1 gas, 1 charcoal
*Resort like community with 10 individually owned cabins.

*This location is 12 miles away from the hustle and bustle of Hayward, WI.
*The lake front is beautiful with tall pines
*Cabin is located right on snowmobile and ATV trails. Lots of local options to rent and deliver snowmobiles or ATVs
