Welcome to Trade Winds, a luxurious beach villa in Roatan, Honduras! This unique home is located in Lawson Rock, the most coveted gated residential community on the island. Trade Winds is a beautiful home nestled on the North Shore of Roatan and only minutes away from the most desired island locations. While it offers proximity to the airport, grocery stores, restaurants, West End diving and nightlife, and West Bay Beach, our home is also tucked away and allows for our guests to avoid crowds when they’re ready to relax and unwind for the day.

When we first started visiting Roatan 20 years ago, we routinely rented in West Bay, renowned all over the world for its white sand beaches. As our family grew and we got to know the island better, we quickly realized that Roatan has so much more to offer!

When you stay at our home, three things will become immediately apparent: luxury, location, and comfort.

You’ll enjoy 7500 square feet of indoor and outdoor living built on two lots. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens and massive “Encino” Live Oak trees that offer a natural and secluded vibe.

Designed by architect, Hal Sorrenti, known for his “pod” style design, each bedroom suite is constructed for privacy. Whether you are there alone or with friends and family, the house is set up for everyone to have their own space.

The expansive main living area offers an open concept floor plan with multiple lounge areas and reading nooks to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or mimosa. The space is free and airy, elegantly designed, yet warm and cozy.

Connected to this main area is the master suite with a king bed, walk-in double waterfall showers, and views to the pool and ocean to wake up to.

Open the sliding glass doors and enter your own personal oasis— a brand new (2025) pool with oversized daybeds, lounge chairs and ocean views, covered patio with outdoor living and dining area, day bed and outdoor kitchen. Large Turkish towels are at your disposal and complete your outdoor experience.

The additional three suites connect to the main house via an indoor/outdoor hallway. Here you will find a large wet-bar and lounge area. The 2nd suite offers a queen bed, comfortable closets, and a private waterfall shower. The 3rd bedroom suite has two full size beds, closet, and private shower. Upstairs above the hallway is the 4th suite with two bunk beds. Each with a full bed on the bottom, a twin bed on top, and a twin trundle bed below. Additionally, the private bath, walk-in closet and 65” TV makes this suite the ultimate “kids’ room”.

Downstairs you’ll find a 5th bedroom—a fully appointed separate apartment with a full bed, private bathroom, and kitchenette.

Adjacent to the downstairs apartment is the media room. This is our kids’ favorite room! After a fun, adventurous day outdoors, sit back and relax in your own movie theatre. Enjoy a 120” projector screen that allows you to stream movies or shows from your favorite streaming apps.

Along with the luxury that this house has to offer, its location also provides an authentic, local experience, so you truly feel like you live on the island during your stay! Its location allows for you to explore and experience a wide array of activities every day:
- Head to the beautiful white sand beaches of the popular West Bay; its beauty is astonishing!
- Check out West End for the day: enjoy a local beach experience on Half Moon Bay with amazing snorkeling; explore the local shops and enjoy delicious food from “street eats” to high-end restaurants; experience authentic dive shops not associated with the larger hotels where you will meet divers from around the world; shop for local art and jewelry and experience the best bars and nightlife on the island.
- Take a day trip to the east; the location of our home allows easy access to Mid-Island/French Harbor with treasures such as Little French Cay, or the untapped far east side of the island with its beautiful, deserted beaches such as Camp Bay. Day trips can be easily coordinated, and we are happy to provide you with transportation options!
- Spend a few hours at Roatan Island Brewing Co. which is a short, 10-minute drive, and enjoy locally brewed beers and unique bites.
- Treat yourself to high-end golf at Roatan’s Black Pearl Golf course only 25 minutes east.

Or simply stay home in paradise! Be warned, you may not want to leave your luxurious and comfortable home! The weather is not always predictable in any tropical destination, and having this house is a huge plus on rainy days!

Lawson Rock community offers 24-hour security and access to all amenities including pools, fitness center, beach with kayaks, and a local deli. Enjoy picturesque sunsets from the community’s private dock. During the day, you can experience world class snorkeling from the private beach across the street – we’ve seen octopus and sting rays just off the dock!

The grounds and pool are maintained by our personal gardener that is around to help with any immediate issues.

Roatan is our home away from home and it can be yours too!
