Summary:

A beautiful example of Caribbean architecture, Elysium Villa is a private island sanctuary on the south shore in quiet Fish Bay. Elysium features stunning ocean views, swaying palm trees, gentle breezes and stellar night skies. Just a short drive from Cruz Bay and pristine National Park Beaches, Elysium is the quintessential vacation paradise for honeymooners, couples or small families. Enjoy picturesque ocean views from the coral stone sun deck surrounding the exceptionally private pool.



The Space:

Elysium Villa is well equipped for a seamless vacation experience. The main level features an open floor plan and includes the kitchen & eating area, living room, a full bath and outdoor dining and seating area. On the pool level there are two spacious King en-suite bedrooms. Both bedroom suites have air conditioning with individual controls and ceiling fans to ensure excellent Caribbean airflow. The kitchen is well appointed for creative home chefs and entertainers. Beach towels, chairs and coolers are provided for beach & boating adventures.



Guest Access:

Check in arrangements will be tailored to your party size, arrival time and familiarity with the Island. BookVI will arrange for a Greeter to meet you at the villa for check-in, villa tour, and address any questions you may have about the property. The Greeter will also provide insights about the island, groceries, restaurants & beaches. Alternatively BookVI offers a virtual check-in via FaceTime to review the villa and answer questions.



The Neighborhood:

Fish Bay is a residential neighborhood about a 15 minute drive from Cruz Bay. Elysium Villa features a tranquil retreat from busy downtown. This community features many flat roads for walking & running, and access to Reef Bay Beach as noted in the National Park beach guide. Be sure to inquire about the villa’s rental vehicle!



Getting Around:

BookVI highly recommends renting a 4-wheel drive vehicle for navigating St. John’s terrain. We can provide a list of trusted local rental companies in addition to a few villa vehicles available. Please inquire with the BookVI Team about options!



Other Things to Note:

All guests will receive a contract for signature in order to finalize your reservation. Once your flight is booked, please provide your flight information to help us plan a smooth arrival. We can assist with arranging private transportation from the airport to the villa, private taxi service, private chefs and spa services. Prior to your vacation, guests can expect emails from our Guest Team to help with vacation planning and details.



Interaction with Guests:

Elysium Villa is professionally managed by BookVI, an island concierge service that is readily available to help with guests needs whether it be dinner recommendations, boat & fishing charters, inter island excursions, or beach rental gear. The management company is on-call for maintenance needs or issues.

The view from the house is breathtaking. Loved the sunsets, the feeling of being able to escape winter, and spend great time with friends. A bit off the main path, but they met us at the ferry and led us to the house.

We LOVED our villa on St John. It was perfectly situated high on the hill overlooking Fish Bay. The views from the patio of the sunset were breathtaking. The villa was fully stocked with anything you would need from cooking utensils and cloth napkins to bug spray and sunscreen. The concierge service was an added bonus. Jennifer escorted us to the villa personally and was super helpful getting us situated. The concierge service was helpful but not overwhelming. The rooms were comfortable . We slept so well! The house has beautiful views and a very nice main living space and upper deck area. Note that the bedrooms are below the main living space and only accessible from the outdoors. This didn’t work well for us with small children. The property management company was very helpful in finding us something more suitable for our family.

The most amazing week

This villa was the perfect vacation for two couples. Elysium has everything you could need and then some!!! The pool is the perfect place to watch the sunsets. It was close enough to town but far enough to enjoy tranquility. Everything was so clean and organized. The driveway is a bit scary at first but compared to others we passed was very manageable. The pictures do not do the property justice. I would highly suggest spending your time in St John at Elysium. We will be back for sure!!!

Paradise Found!

Our family of five stayed at Elysium this week and very much enjoyed this home. It was the perfect size for the 5 of us, two adults and three kids/teens. The view was PERFECT, it is a quiet neighborhood and everything we needed was provided. The managements company, BOOKVI, was attentive, communicated well and offered us any assistance we needed during our stay. We had no issues with the home or property other than a minor plumbing problem that they offered to fix immediately. We loved having a private pool to relax in after a day at the beach. It's in a great location, just about 15 minutes from Cruz Bay and not far from the other locations on the island that we visited. I have already recommended this property to friends that saw my posts and pictures on social media. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Birthday Visit

This was our sixth trip to St John. We usually stay at another villa but it has gotten too expensive so Elysium was a perfect alternative. A nice and quiet location with great sunsets. The home was spotless which was very important to us. We loved taking dips in the sparkling pool after a day of tooling around the island. Brandon met us at Starfish Market and guided us to the home and gave a quick tour. We had surprise visitors. A gray tabby stopped by one morning. We named him Johnny Cakes. We fed him a little and he came back and brought his friend/brother who we named Conch Fritter. Seeing we missed our fur baby back home it was nice to see them. If you don’t like cats not to worry. They don’t stick around long. The wildlife on Fish Bay was a great surprise. We saw a Red Ibis, a Hawk stopped by a lot, the Iguanas and we also had a deer visit the last morning. Thanks for letting us borrow your home for a week. We will be back!

Paradise!

Elysium Villa was such a perfect location for our stay on St. John with our teenage sons. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out but wonderful common areas as well. We were so impressed by the home! It was super clean and such a relaxing place to stay. The pool was wonderful. We mostly used it later in day or for nighttime swims. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the gas grill many nights as well as blender to make painkillers. The host also provided beach towels, beach chairs, and coolers which was fabulous for all our beach days. We packed a picnic lunch every day. A few things to note about the property but we think these are covered by the listing. There's many outdoor stairs so be aware if traveling with younger children or people with mobility issues. The layout of the home is an upside house with all rooms only accessible externally. Turning onto the driveway is a steep corner and the new Jeeps don't have a good turning circle so you have to back up to clear the corner. The host was incredibly attentive with any questions we had and answered in minutes. They were also willing to book any tours or excursions on our behalf. We had such an amazing visit to St. John. We are eager to return to Elysium as soon as we can. A brilliant family holiday with nature as the focus.

Outstanding!

Our family stayed 8 nights at Elysium & enjoyed every moment of our stay. My husband and two boys, ages 16 & 19, used the trail to Fish Bay to fly fish every morning & evening. While they fished in the early morning, I swam laps in the pool, prepared breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen & readied materials for our afternoons of swimming & snorkeling at different North Shore beaches. (The cays at Trunk Bay & Cinnamon Bay, & Waterlemon Cay were our favorite snorkeling spots). We ended many evenings swimming in the private pool. The property has beach chairs & coolers for guests to use. Since some beaches are more secluded & without amenities, having coolers to pack food & drinks for the day was helpful. This property is high on a hill with breathtaking views. Fish Bay is murkier than those on the North Shore. However, my husband & kids felt safe wading knee to waist deep in the water to fly fish & weren't bothered by any little sharks they came into contact with. They wish they would have brought a steel liter. Any sharks they did catch sliced right through their lines (and there aren't any bait & tackle shops, so bring what you need from home). Mary Creek was another favorite fishing spot. To find the trail to Fish Bay, walk down the driveway & continue down the street. The entry to the unmarked trail is across the street from one of the first houses on the right. The trail and the beach are really rocky, so closed-toe hiking sandals would work better than flip-flops.

Peaceful private villa on Fish Bay with great views!

Elysium Villa is beautiful, peaceful and private. It is very comfortable and has fantastic views of the bay and ocean. It has everything you need whether headed to the beaches or relaxing at home. Beach chairs, towels and coolers are provided for outings. Comfortable lounging, books and even a yoga mat are provided for quiet time at home. The private pool is inviting and ready anytime! Getting to the villa takes you over some hilly and winding roads (which is true of most roads on St. John). It takes about 15 minutes to get into town at Cruz Bay and another 15 - 20 minutes beyond that to the north shore beaches. It is worth the drive though to arrive back to your beautiful villa. The staff at Book VI are very helpful and accommodating to ensure a fantastic experience on St. John. We highly recommend Elysium Villa and Book VI.

Amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was myself, my fiancé and the in-laws. The house was clean and well maintained. We weren’t aware, but the house is split into two floors. The bedrooms on the lower level. Which was completely fine and apparently normal for the island! Each bedroom has an on suite and ample closet/ dresser space. The other full bath is on the main living level. Wifi works best on the main level. Excellent views of the bay from both levels. The pool area was perfect and the laundry area just another level down from there. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed! We did have two meals at home. The Starfish Market has everything you need and we were impressed with both the produce and meat section. The grill is newer and worked great although the drain pan hadn’t been cleaned (there was a little bit of a fire going on). The oven was not working but the stove worked just fine. You will most definitely need a car. The location of the home is VERY much off the beaten path (bear right at the mermaid. IYKYK). We went to three restaurants for dinner and from some grace of God, we chose the best on the island! 1864, La Tapa and Lime Inn. We HIGHLY recommend. Brandon was very responsive with booking questions. If you’re interested, you can have grocery delivery scheduled for your arrival date. I would recommend 2 weeks in advance. Brandon can give you the info. Dabney met us at the dock, brought us to the car rental, then we followed her to the house for the grand tour and she was awesome. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend!
