Everything seemed to be fine when we arrived at 9pm, but there is a venue next door where there was something evidently booked late in the night. At 11:30pm, the noise level was so loud that we had to leave. There was no way we could sleep. I messaged the host, but I still received no reply 24 hours later. My money wasn’t refunded and there was no communication on that there was going to be an event next door.

Wonderful place to stay with something to do rain or shine! The pool was a little dirty but that is no fault to the host. Its surrounded bt trees and a storm had come thru. We plan to stay again!

Abbie was an amazing hostess. She was great with communicating with our group and made our stay awesome. She was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to make our trip perfect. The house and pool were great. We were very pleased.

We enjoyed our stay!

This home was so cute! The person who decorated has an eclectic style that I really enjoyed. It was different than the average rental home. It was also clean and well stocked.The host was friendly and there was plenty to do at this home. We didn't get to use the pool or do any of the outdoor activities because of the weather but there were plenty of outdoor activities available.There were also plenty of indoor activities like golf, pool, games, etc. However, we ended up exploring the city, took a 2 hour trip up to see the St. Louis Arch and then stopped by the Shawnee National Forest (lovely views) which was just over the bridge and down the road.I would definitely book here again!

Quirky house for a perfect guys weekend

We chose this location as it was centrally located for a majority of the group. The accommodations were wonderful. The kitchen was big enough for us to have some home cooked meals vs out for dinner every night. The large table in the dining room was perfect for board games and having conversations. I wasn’t sure if the hanging couch would hold me but it worked well and I had a good nap on it. If we are coming back to the area again we are coming here.

Poor communication resulted in not staying

The host did not provide current information on how to check in upon arrival, she only provided a code that didn't work. Other reviews mention problems with checking in. Multiple calls, text and VRBO messaging were sent and after 30 minutes waiting in the cold and dark night we had to pursue another location to stay. Host called over an hour later to inform us of how to enter home. She admitted the pictures were out dated that stated the entrance was on the right side at the basement. The yard badly needed to be mowed and there was a fence panel laying on the ground near basement. Host was a poor communicator and avoid the facts of her own pictures stating the entrance was at the basement. She has since updated the pictures and corrected the information.

Wonderful hidden gem

Amazing property that we simply didn't stay long enough to enjoy in its completeness. Billiards and Putt-Putt on entry, so attractive that we started playing before we even unpacked! I'm very artsy interior, and lots of room and outdoor fire pit, multiple decks, and an in-ground pool. The home is even on the grounds, an event venue. Probably a wonderful combination for them! Would enjoy returning, but for a longer stay will you could enjoy all with the property had to offer! Highly recommend it

Quirky house with character

The house itself is fine. The pool table looked like fun but the cues were broke. The outside pool was nice but it would have been better with a net to clean the leaves out. The downstairs tenant has lids so this is not a quiet escape out.

Great Space for Youth Retreat

Loved this location for our FFA Officer Retreat! Lots of things to do for high school aged students and space to getting planning done for the school year. Loved the outdoor fire pit and pool.

My stay...

My first impression was that it was very nice. The decor was beautiful. The negatives are, in 1 bathroom there was a woman's used sanitary napkin. The pans that I needed to cook breakfast with were dirty so I had to wash them first. The pool sticks were very bad and only two of them. The inground pool was a little dirty. Not leaves. My stay was to celebrate my 50th bday with a few friends. The entire evening was fantastic. And it was the perfect setting for space and activities. I just wish for the price I paid it would have been cleaner and some items updated. We also wanted to add an upstairs room to our rental stay and getting a hold of someone was hard to do.

Gorgeous Gem in Cape!

We had a small get together with our family to celebrate the upcoming wedding of my sister and her fiance. The house is absolutely beautiful and set up so nicely. The owner responded to me right away when I had to contact her just a couple times. The pictures really don't do justice to how the house really looks and such a great vibe. Thank you, Abby, for having us. My sister and her fiance were over the moin and absolutely loved it!

Not well maintained

This property is a great idea yet it is disappointing for anyone looking for a well maintained and clean stay. We did enjoy the pool. It gets dirty easily because of the trees around the property, yet we were still able to enjoy being in the pool. The furniture throughout the property is in serious need of upgrading. The owners have made attempts to create a comfortable seating space by placing pads under the couch cushions, this did not make a difference. The pool table was a plus and the beds were pretty comfy. The cleaning definitely needs improvement. We found food on the floor, remnants from a birthday party, dried sauce on the light fixture above the dining room table. I clearly should have researched better because we found this same property on another rental site for about $40 less a night and with a LOT of negative reviews. This could be a great stay, just not without a lot of cleaning and TLC.

Home away from home

This property was perfect for stepping away from life for a week. The pool is why we booked here, and it did not disapoint! Surrounded by trees, the pool was absolutely amazing to enjoy; the perfect Missouri summer. The home's decor is adorable, and the beds are comfy! There is lots of room to spread out, and the kitchen is perfect for preparing meals and snacks. 10/10 would recommend, and we hope to come back soon.

With families like ours, I can only imagine the expense of upkeep and improvements and we had no problem with the furnishings or interior. The pool was great and the main reason why this home was chosen, so if I would make improvements, it would be the grounds around the pool and house; A stiff broom for keeping the mulch off the patio would be helpful in keeping the pool clean with children around; I would also minimize the pool toys to a few good quality pieces and new storage for these items outside of the landscaping mulch. Things worked out perfectly for our large gathering of grandchildren of various ages. Kitchen was nice and pool table is a great entertainment benefit. Everyone was very happy with the interior and everything was clean and in order. Communication with the owners was very quick and helpful.

One of my dreams was to open a place where a Bride can rent a place to stay as well as a venue and decorate all week or stay on the same property stress free. I looked for years for the perfect place. Then, one day, this property popped up!

My dad and I had already started Daddy Daughter Airbnbs since my step mom passed, and when this property became available, we jumped.

We've had the home listed and running since November 2020 and finished the venue in September 2021. We love that people can rent the home while also renting the venue but we also rent the home out by itself :)
