Peaceful and Secluded San Diego Retreat! Family and pet friendly!

The Fowler House offers you and yours guests a tranquil stay in a beautiful place. Located just 25 minutes from downtown San Diego, you can choose to stay tucked away in the Jamul foothills, explore world-class local amenities -- hiking, golfing, casinos, vineyards -- or make a short drive to bask in the charms of America's finest city. Come stay with us and relax, explore, or both!

3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a bonus room set up for children with 2 twin-over-full bunk beds, and another queen sofa bed in the game den. Technically 3 bedrooms but 5 private areas to sleep in! *Please note there are not 5 bedrooms but 5 sleep spaces - please make sure this works for your stay!*

32-foot above-ground pool located in our olive grove. The area features lounge chairs and additional seating with a table for all-day fun in the sun!

Giant front and back patios. The back patio with fenced yard (purrfect for fur babies, additional pet fee applies) features an outside dining table that seats 8 for al fresco dining!

The game room is fully equipped with a TV, shuffleboard, and tons of books and board games that will keep all ages entertained!

The kitchen is a true chef's kitchen, with tons of space, cooking essentials, and a French stove/oven.

Coffee and tea bar, fresh towels, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash are provided for your comfort and convenience. We look forward to hosting you and your guests for a night or more under the stars!

Private, nice, quiet

We had a nice time here. As for the lower rating on cleanliness, the kitchen trash had not been emptied when we arrived and the grill was very dirty(we cleaned it) and we ran out of propane while grilling. Would stay here again.

Quiet and Beautiful

The property is a little hard to get to but once you get there, you dont want to leave. The house is beautiful and the open floor space was perfect for a small family birthday.

This is a Nancy Meyers Movie Set!

This home is every bit as beautiful as the pictures show. Very serene with beautiful views from every angle. The hosts are very responsive with any issues. Kitchen was great with 5 adults working on meal making at the same time. Grocery stores are 10 minutes from the house. Ralph's grocery store was an easy stop on the way home from a day at the beach. 3 of the bedrooms have complete privacy. Two sleeping areas (bunks and sofa bed) are in common areas. The bunks do have a screen for privacy. When we surveyed the family at the end of our stay, they were all happy with our choice. Make sure you use GPS hosts' instructions for your first arrival to the house.

Beautiful property

We stayed at this gorgeous home with a group of 12 — 5 adults and 7 kids ages 8-12. The listing was a bit confusing since it double counted 2 sleeping areas. The area is peaceful and hilly; the grounds are full of olive trees and beautiful landscaping with rose bushes and citrus trees. The kids enjoyed exploring the grounds around the home. Inside, the kitchen was beautiful and well-appointed, and there was a laundry room with an additional fridge/freezer, which was helpful with our large group. The house had 2 rooms with Murphy beds and one room with a king bed, but all the mattresses were comfortable. There also is a bunk room with 2 twin-over-full beds as well as another room with a pull-out sofa bed. We had just enough towels and washcloths, but it would have been nice to have extra blankets since it was quite chilly in the house (58 when we arrived). The shower in the jack and Jill bathroom was dripping, but in general the bathrooms were fine.

Perfect house for family vacation

Overdue vacation for our family of 14. This was a perfect house that had plenty of space plenty of comfortable beds. This house was equipped with everything you need for Your stay. They were plenty of blankets plenty of pillows. Kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook. Laundry room was appreciated. It was equipped with soap bleach Downey sheets you name it it was there. Backyard was great for the kids to play. Pool was heated and humongous. Everybody fit in there at one time. The beach is only about 25 minutes away. Neighborhood is a very quiet neighborhood no neighbors right next to you . Good size TV in every room. Great check-in process very easy. Great communication with management company. Will definitely stay at this house again. I would recommend this property to anybody Who is looking to stay in California. The price we paid to stay here was well worth it. We get this property of five star.

Remote and cozy

There were 11 of us in total age 2 thru 69. The house had more than enough room for all of us to spread out. With 8 acres of property there was a lot to do, swim, bbq, relax. Close to town for shopping, We made a ton of memories. I will say remote means remote but it’s worth the drive. We had a great time

I would say we had a great stay , the property is very private well laid out with what feel like multiple layers . The kids loved the pool area and there was even an area for our fur babies to roam around . It's definitely a great place to just get away from it all but still be within 30 minutes of we world the zoo golf and many other things that San Diego has to offer .

Perfect house for any event!

We rented this property to host a small reception of about 30 people, and it exceeded our expectations!! The house is absolutely beautiful, along with the area around it. While it was a huge house, it still felt so comfortable and cozy. Everything you could think of, they provided in the house, including small things like extra hair ties and bobby pins. Along with the property being perfect, the host, Paige, was absolutely wonderful. She responded immediately to any question or comment, and was so accommodating for anything we needed. We had such a wonderful stay and our event was magical. We will 100% be back next time we come to San Diego with the family and will be recommending this place to anyone interested in coming out here!!

Beautiful property

The Jamal house is secluded and beautiful. Just make sure you have the correct directions to the home. My navigation took me on a nightmarish way that lead me on small dirt roads and private property. We loved our stay there. The only thing that bothered some of us who were in the kitchen a lot due to it being Thanksgiving, was the smell of propane. They have a note explaining the smell and that it is okay, but I’m not positive that smelling propane is okay. Hopefully they correct the issue. It is not a pleasant smell and may have caused upset stomach.
