Fair Winds is a fully equipped, 2BR/2B, bay view vacation home conveniently located in historic downtown Palacios. It is within walking distance of restaurants and some of the nicest public fishing facilities on the South Texas coast. Enjoy free, first-class amenities including a swimming beach, protected boat launch, lighted fishing pier, miles of bayside parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas, just a short walk from your front porch.

Speaking of the front porch, it is the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. The combination living/kitchen area has a satellite TV and a sleeper sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a four-burner cooktop with a full oven, coffee and tea bar, a microwave, and service settings for eight.

All bedrooms feature lamps with USB ports for easy charging of all electronic devices.

There is an additional in-law suite on the property featuring a 1/1 efficiency (sleeps 2) available for an additional nightly cost if interested. Please note the in-law suite is ONLY available to be rented by guests who rent the larger home.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cute house with absolutely amazing bay views! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and felt welcoming the moment we arrived. Each bedroom having its own full bathroom was a huge bonus — perfect for privacy and convenience.The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, the beds were super comfortable, and there were plenty of towels provided. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer on site, covered parking, and a huge front porch where we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the scenery.The host was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the home is pet-friendly, which made traveling with our fur baby stress-free. The location is also super convenient — close to everything while still feeling peaceful and tucked away.Overall, this place truly felt like a home away from home. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, well-located getaway with gorgeous views!

This is the second time we've stayed here and very much enjoyed it! We did notice that there were towels left in the dryer and the floor needed to be swept. The beds were made and the bathrooms were clean. That didn't affect our stay and we love the location! We will be back again to see Donna El Gotto! Also, the grass needs to be cut.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Fair Winds Cottage in Palacios! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect — nestled just a block from the bay, with peaceful coastal views and a quiet, relaxing vibe that instantly put us at ease. It’s also just minutes from some of the best local restaurants in town. We enjoyed fresh seafood at The Point, incredible breakfast at Mark’s on Main, and a delightful evening meal at Palacios Mexican Restaurant — all just a short drive or walk away.The cottage itself was immaculately clean — it’s clear the owners and cleaning staff take great pride in maintaining a welcoming, spotless space. City by the Sea

A wonderful Easter weekend in Palacios. Just across the street from the historic Luther Hotel and a block from Tres Palacios Bay, this cottage was a perfect spot for a getaway from the big city. Several high quality restaurants are located within walking distance, and a wide variety of other options are available nearby. We also loved meeting Donna Gato, and look forward to seeing her again when we return this summer.

We really enjoyed the stay. The house was nice. Had problems with the internet and tv, but that was more the Indian than the arrow. Finally figured everything out. I had on a boot because of an Achilles tear. The walk from the carport to the house was difficult. I would recommend a walkway, paving stones, or the like.
