Enjoy more than just the beach in this bright and airy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom efficiency with porch and fenced yard, located in a quiet, centrally located neighborhood. It's just one block from the bay/sound, and an easy walk or bike to the beach!

The interior space has queen bed, dresser, desk, flat screen smart tv with cable AND roku (with netflix, discovery app, etc), coffee maker and mini fridge. The bathroom is nautically themed, with tile shower and granite countertop vanity. Walk out onto the porch for coffee or a cocktail, to hear the birds & smell the salt air. There's a small ocean peek from the porch.

The fenced yard makes it easy to bring your fur baby! Just relax and enjoy the beach, soundfront sunsets and more!

It's a short walk to the beach, with a pedestrian-friendly stoplight crosswalk. Or, it's about a 30 second drive to one of the many public beach access, all with free parking.

The bedroom, bathroom and covered porch are private to you. There is a shared entrance area to walk through (shared with the owner) to get to the stairs that lead to the private porch and the private room/bathroom. The porch overlooks a fully fenced yard that is shared with the owner and her dogs. (I try my best to minimize the time my dogs spend in the yard while guests are there. It's usually just a few minutes in the morning and in the evening.)

The neighborhood has a soundfront bike path that spans for miles along the water, which is a great place to walk, bike or jog, and this area is know for it's amazing sunsets. All you have to do is walk down the street and explore. You can even follow the path all the way to the Wright Brothers Monument. There's a breakfast place one block away, 2 coffee shops within 2 blocks and more shops and restaurants all within a short walk.

I live above the unit, so I'm happy to give recommendations for restaurants, activities, or help with anything you may need. While I do my best to be as quiet as I can, you may hear footsteps and the dogs barking from time to time.

The efficiency is completely private, but is connected to my main house, so the entryway and yard are shared spaces with me.

Excellent host

Jean-Marie was the best host we have had to date. Very thorough in relaying information and expectations. They were very kind and considerate people and we felt extremely comfortable. The room was very clean and the property was welcoming.

Amazing location!

We stayed here last June and it was a 10/10 stay. We walked to the beach and coffee shop daily. The host was very nice & communicative. We had a great trip & would recommend staying here!

Perfect getaway for couples and pets!

This was our first trip bringing our dog along and the space was perfect! The fenced in yard was amazing and the owner was very friendly and understanding with some barking our pup did when getting used to the property! Definitely recommend to anyone traveling with a pet!

Loved our stay! Great hostess

our hostess was the nicest! She shared supper with us, but was still respectful of our space. I didn’t feel bothered or uncomfortable. it was the perfect amount of being available but not too much. Her space was SO CLEAN. I’m super sensitive to cleanliness and I went barefoot in our space. Location to the beach was perfect. We can’t wait to come back.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Excellent location, close to the beach, and walking distance to the sound side. Close to many of our favorite restaurants and shopping spots. Cozy, very clean and comfortable efficiency. The mini frig had tons of room for drinks and snacks. The large deck was shady and super relaxing. A dog friendly efficiency that offers a huge, grassy, fenced-in yard with beautiful trees and flowers. We really enjoyed our stay and will look forward to returning in the future.

I'm a surfer, dog lover and Outer Banks explorer. I've lived on the Outer Banks for over 20 years and absolutely love it here. I grew up in Richmond, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech. I spent my first summer on the Outer Banks when I was a sophomore in college and fell in love with the area. I moved here full time when I graduated. I'm so grateful to call this place my home, and can't wait for you to create your own OBX memories.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

The location is ideal, in a quiet neighborhood but still close to everything. The beach access is easy to walk to via a pedestrian crosswalk AND it's a wide beach that's always uncrowded. Or hop in the car and there's plenty of other beach accesses with free parking, some with bathrooms, a short 30-second drive away. AND the hidden gem is that it's also so close to the sound and bike path that runs along the sound. We get some of the BEST sunsets over the sound. There are so many shops and restaurants nearby. And I love having a big yard for the dogs. I converted one of the guest bedrooms into this 1-bedroom unit with it's own private bath (I added the bathroom in 2021!). I hope you enjoy it!

Wide, uncrowded beach to the east, and a soundfront walking path to the west with amazing soundfront sunsets!! The easiest walkable beach access is 3 blocks away, where there is a pedestrian crosswalk at a stoplight that crosses the main road and you walk one block to the beach from there. Or head one block to the west and you're at the sound! Multiple restaurants and shops all within 1/2 mile from the unit, many are walkable and pet-friendly. I'm happy to give you detailed info on the restaurants and activities that are close by!
