Float On is the perfect cottage for your Outer Banks getaway! It is centrally located in Kill Devil Hills, providing easy access to neighboring towns and many OBX attractions.

This classic saltbox home rests in a quiet KDH neighborhood and features living space, a full kitchen, two bedrooms, one full bath, and laundry facilities. For your convenience, there is an enclosed outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. Relax on the back deck or multi-level patio.

One bedroom is suited with a king bed and the other with two twin beds. Linens and bath towels are provided.

The fully equipped kitchen with countertop seating is ready for you to cook and enjoy meals. There's also a charcoal grill in the backyard.

When it’s time to wind down, hang in the living room where there is a 50-inch Smart TV and wifi. We've also stocked the house with board games and movies for those rainy days.

Your well-mannered pup is welcome here too! The backyard is fenced in; however, please keep your pet company while in the yard and pick up after them. While away from the home, we ask that you crate your dog. We do request a non-refundable pet fee.

Float On is not only located near many shops and restaurants, the beautiful Albemarle Sound is a short walk away where you will have water access, many an incredible sunset, and miles of paved multi-use trail. A public boat ramp is also nearby. The Atlantic Ocean is not far either. Third Street provides a crosswalk and a straight shot to the beach! Our guests enjoyed the bikes and beach carts provided.

Have kids or like tennis or pickle ball? The newest public park in KDH, featuring a splash pad, modern playground equipment, and tennis courts is a short bike ride away.

Whether you're ready to be active or to relax, set to shop or explore the Outerbanks’ rich history and nature, Float On is ready for you and your family and friends, to make memories!

We loved the property and had a great stay here. The tall fenced in area in the backyard was great for the dog. The only thing that would one up the place would be a little more lighting in the backyard near the grill. But all in all it was a wonderful house!

This is the perfect destination for a small family! A bonus of being able to accommodate a dog!! The host was incredible with communication and keeping me informed/suggesting places in the area. The house was very clean, had great beach supplies and was very comfortable. If you are looking for the benefit of the bay (sound) AND close to beach assess, great local spots and lots of fun, then this is the place for your next OBX vacation.

Our Kill Devil Hills Getaway

We enjoyed our visit. The house was close to the beaches, restaurants and stores. Bikes and beach equipment was provided as well as anything you need in the kitchen. Our host was very easy to work with. Our only complaint was that there was only a sofa and no comfortable chair in the living area . The stools at the bar had no backs and were quite wobbly for an adult. There was no table with chairs for dining. Overall, we would recommend staying here.

Great Stay

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and we found this home a perfect central location for all we wanted to explore. We loved being so close to the multi-use trail and rode bikes every day. The house was clean, the bed was comfortable, and our kids loved the outdoor shower. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for my partner & my small pup for a week in OBX! The property was easy to find, comfortable, and just a short drive from beach access. Great return stay

Perfect Home for a Week-Long Beach Trip

Would not hesitate to stay again

We were here for as a family of 4 for beach trip. Our 4 year old, 18 month old and dog were with us. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for a week and the location was perfect. We really appreciated the Gorilla cart for taking things to the beach. Communication with the owners and ease of check-in was great. The location was a 3 minute drive to beach access and 2 minutes from a grocery store and gas station, 30 min to Duck, 45 min to Corolla.

Outer banks gem!

We enjoyed our stay so very much! The home is spotless! So many beautiful touches to give the home charm. The home was comfortable and welcoming. The king size bed was so comfortable to sleep on. We enjoyed the hammock on the deck to sit outside and listen to the birds. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Having a washer/dryer is always a plus! Josh and Vanessa were so easy to communicate with and made our stay lovely.

Great house for a small group.

It was a lovely home, with many amenities, including beach chairs, bikes, fenced in back yard (wonderful for our dog!), great selection of DVDs, WiFi, and a wonderful deck with a hammock overlooking a nice, quiet neighborhood. The house was nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were comfortable! We had no trouble finding parking at the beach but the house is a short bike ride to Kill Devil Hills beach and Kitty Hawk Bay (with beautiful sunsets) is even closer! The owners are very attentive and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.

Nice, quiet, vacation home

We enjoyed our stay at Float On! The house was very clean and is well kept and maintained. Almost anything you need for your stay is there. Josh was a great host checking on us prior to arrival and during out stay. He also reminded us about check out. The house is in a part of Kill Devil Hills where many year round resident seem to live. The area is quiet and convenient to shops and restaurants. Fiod Lion is a half mile up the street. Getting a parking spot at the beach access is no problem. Glad we came across Float On!

What a great week in the OBX

First and foremost, the hosts were absolutely amazing. We felt like we had our own VIP concierge service helping us, checking in on us, and letting us know when, simple things, like the trash needed to be put out. It was most welcome and greatly appreciated. Also, we were there with a water dog. He absolutely loved going to the beach, the sound, the backyard, and everything in between. The house was “as advertised,” which is always a relief when you’re renting properties for a holding week. In short, we would recommend to anyone looking to have a holiday at the beach with sun and serenity in between. A great stay and most appreciated!

Once your are in Kill Devil Hills you are here! One could continue on about proximity to shops, dining and entertainment, but let's look at it another way. KDH's central location is just minutes after leaving the mainland and the car ride is over. You are now in The Outer Banks of North Carolina - Vacation ready! The already mentioned shops and dining are in fact nearby, even better though, you are positioned to explore further south or north with ease.

Float On is at the beach without being, at the beach. Shake off the sand and immerse yourself into a quiet neighborhood. There is a yard for the dog or for the kids to play in. If kayaking or fishing are more your thing, you are just a few minutes walk from The Albemarle Sound. There is even a spacious public boat ramp a few minutes up Bay Drive. Get your feet wet, see the sun set. In this part of The Outer Banks it's more than just about the ocean.
