Imagine opening the door to your unit, gazing through a twelve-foot wide glass patio door system that frames a view of the aquamarine sea crashing on black lava rocks separated from the lanai by 25 yards of lush, green lawn – and if luck is with you, watching whales and dolphins playfully frolic in the sea. That same view will greet you every morning as you exit your bedroom to start the day. Whether you come to Kona for romance, solitude, adventure, or even to work remotely, we believe our unit offers the amenities and surroundings to make your time there amazing!
To while away the day one can sit outside on the lanai and be caressed by the trade winds, or enjoy a book on the couch inside being cooled by the new ductless air-conditioner; either way our unit has unobstructed views of the ocean and the beautifully-maintained, tropical foliage of the Kona Isle common areas. The bedroom and living room have high-tech fans that operate so quietly and efficiently you may decide to forgo using the AC: especially in light of the flow-through ventilation offered by the new jalousie windows in the bedroom.
The décor of our unit is a blend of old-style “Island Chic” mixed with modern touches. We have retained the rattan furniture while updating the frames with new Sumbrella Cushions. We recently added a mango wood table and media console to the living room. The kitchen has granite countertops and is designed to facilitate the efficient creation of great meals. It is also well stocked with cookware, utensils, rice cooker, and a Cuisinart coffee maker - to make a perfect Kona coffee! A Bosch refrigerator operates unobtrusively in the background to keep your groceries well chilled and frozen. There is an ergonomic Humanscale stool at the counter which will comfortably support you whether you are using the counter as a prep station, eating location, or work station.
A high-speed router provides Wi-Fi throughout the condo and a flatscreen 55” Sony TV has cable channels and most major streaming apps installed (bring your own login credentials). The remodeled bathroom has a walk-in shower for easy accessibility.
In 2022 we installed a new GE dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The new appliances are very quiet and add to the convenience of the unit. Also, we installed a split sunshade (with a crank mechanism; no ropes!) for the Lanai in May 2022. Finally, to help those of you who travel with portable consumer electronics we installed: bedside lamps that feature built-in wireless charging, USB Type A ports, and electrical outlets in their base; and living room electrical outlets with built-in Type A and C USB ports. The lanai has an anodized aluminum folding table and sumptuous, high-backed, swivel rocking chairs - the ultimate in comfort to watch the most amazing sunsets. The remodel is complete!
Kona Isle is a small ocean-front complex that reflects the style of classic Hawaii with well-maintained, lovely grounds and all the conveniences of home. This beautiful complex has a great barbecue area with picnic tables where people gather for friendly conversation or to watch the sunset and enjoy dinner. The pool is heated and surrounded by lounge chairs and tables. There is a sandy area adjacent to the ocean where one can bask in the sunshine in lounge chairs or enjoy the shade and cooling ocean breezes while watching dolphins, whales and turtles. This is a NO SMOKING property, with no smoking allowed on the lanai or the grounds. The condo association requires a 5-night minimum stay.
A convenience store with a deli, beer, wine, newspapers, etc. is 100 yards away. Ali'i Gardens Marketplace selling lunches (awesome Food Trucks!) and a variety of arts and crafts is about 200 yards away. Town is about 1 mile away with restaurants, shopping and a great farmers market where you can find pineapples, papayas, mangoes, avocados, bananas, and lots of vegetables.
The aloha spirit of the people here add to the overall enjoyment of Kona Isle. This truly is paradise!
