Family Get Away

We absolutely loved our stay. This property comes with many extras-fishing poles, kayaks, bikes, popcorn machine, pickleball courts, golfing, park, beach towels and chairs. Gail was very quick to respond with questions I had and helped make our stay that much more special. My family highly recommends this property.

When we first arrived, the house was extremely dirty. To the host’s credit, she answered our calls right away when we reported that the TVs upstairs and downstairs were not working. She sent someone the next day to clean and attempt to fix the TVs. Unfortunately, the TVs were still not working afterward, and even after the second cleaning we found a Skull packet under a table, along with candy and food left behind from previous guests.The home appears to need a thorough deep cleaning. The baseboards, bedding, and showers were noticeably dirty, and the showers smelled like urine. The outdoor pool cushions were also in poor condition—when sitting on them, our skin and bathing suits would become black from the residue.The location was great, and the host was responsive throughout our stay, which we appreciated. The kayaks and paddleboards were a nice amenity, and we enjoyed using them. However, the bikes advertised for guest use were heavily rusted and unusable.Overall, the property has great potential because of its location and responsive host, but it is in need of significant cleaning, maintenance, and attention to detail before we would consider staying again.

Paradise lost. This house on Shelter Bay Drive could have been amazing. The location is great, but it stopped there. Upon arrival, we noticed a pet odor. Dog hair everywhere. The sheets were dirty and full of dog hair. I had to strip the beds myself and wash them. The ceiling fans were covered in a layer of dust. The floors were dirty and needed a good vacuum. The rugs were dirty and stained. I messaged Mellisa the property manager to let her know how dirty it was. She sent someone over the next day to “clean”, but he just brushed around the dirt. The house is full of broken items; 4 broken ice machines, broken outdoor furniture, broken TV and an empty TV box just left on the patio. The furniture inside the house is stained with dirt. The downstairs bedroom was very humid and smelled musty. There was a dehumidifier, but it had to be drained multiple times a day. The boat dock was a choose your own adventure. Not a single cleat to tie up to. Plus side, the bait freezer worked. This property needs a deep clean, trash to be thrown out, and a major landscaping job. The pool was fine. My family and I have stayed in Marathon every summer for the last 10 years and this is the most run down place we have stayed at. It could be paradise, but it needs work.

Hello Jennifer! Thank you so much for your constructive feedback. Regarding cleanliness, your home was inspected the day you arrived. We have a very strict cleaning standards but things do get missed and you brought those issues to our attention during your stay and recleaned your home the very next day. As to the must smell and pet odor, we checked the day of your check in and the day after and smelled no must or pet odor. All furniture and flooring were cleaned numerous times to insure pet odor/hair would not be a problem for anyone. The TV's are puzzling to me because we put in new ones that were completely operational during your stay and the only ice machine we have is on the porch and it is 100% operational. Also, if all these issues were a problem for you, why did you not tell us during your stay? However, we have already addressed the dock and have met with our clean team forwarding your feedback and any cleanliness issues we found as a result of your review have already been addressed as well as the dock. Thank you we really appreciate your feedback and want you and everyone to know we truly care about our guest's complete satisfaction during their stay.

Key Colony

The house was perfect for our laid back family. We enjoyed golf, pickle ball, tennis and daily bike rides. The king beds were comfy as were the nice newly remodeled bathrooms.

Great place great location

This property is in a great location and had a nice slip to keep our 43’ center console. Great pool and porch areas as well as ample parking. The best thing about this property was Gail the property manager. She was available 24-7 and her goal was to make sure our group was happy. We will definitely stay again.

Great place to stay

This house has it all Location and everything you need for a fabulous vacation and time. We stayed here with two other couples we all had our own space and baths. The kitchen living room and other common areas have ample space for everyone to gather cook eat relax. This host is amazing very accommodating. They really have though of everything to make your stay comfortable and fun. We even stayed a few days longer then planned because we loved it so much.

Perfect spot in KCB

We loved this property! We have stayed in a lot of place in Marathon and this one is our favorite! Very well stocked, lots of space for everyone to enjoy, boat dock and cleaning station are great! Fishing in the bay was better than in the canal. Easy access to vaca cut. Pool was a great size for floating around and very private. We will be back!

Perfect 1st visit to Key Colony Beach (KCB)

You won't be disappointed staying here. The house is spacious, both bedrooms and baths are large and updated. The living area offers commanding views of the water and the porch makes morning coffee and evening cocktails relaxing. The weather wasn't the best but we were able to enjoy the pool area (expansive) and did make into the pool on occasion. The house is well stocked with anything you could want and location is hard to beat. A perfect welcome to KCB!

Annual Keys Trip

This was our 4th annual trip to Marathon. We have stayed 3 out of the 4 years in KCB and LOVE the area. This house was our favorite out of the 4 years. It had everything we needed for our 3 couples. The house was clean & fully stocked from the kitchen to the pool. It had a good dock for our 28 foot boat with easy access to the Atlantic & Vaca cut. We enjoyed the view, screened in porch and the big, clean pool. Check in was a breeze and Melissa was very accommodating and responded quickly. It was so nice to have restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely rent this home again.

Winter Get Away

We escaped the cold/rain/clouds and had a wonderful time in the keys. Key Colony Beach was a GREAT location and the house was exactly as advertised. We didn't even have any room in cabinets for things we brought to cook with as the house had everything. The pool was clean and warm. The views were awesome! Make sure you head over to Sunset Beach for sunset each evening, it is a special treat. We HIGHLY recommend this property.

Location, location, location!

This was our first time in the keys. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Location was perfect because we wanted to be able to visit all of the major keys and we were able to do that without spending too much time in the car. Location was perfect because we felt like we were part of the community of Key Colony Beach. Very welcoming community. Location was perfect because we were able to see dolphins every day from our house, as well as a stingray, manatee and a bonnet head shark. We had the most amazing time and the house was clean, the host was very easy to work with and we would absolutely stay here again and again.
