Emily was wonderful: there was an issue with the property we originally rented, so she called us and gave us some options that were actually more expensive cabins for the same price. The new property, Skip Rock Cottage was right on a creek, that our dog loved. The place was beautiful, clean, central to all places we visited. Made the vacation simple and beautiful!

Clean and cozy as always, this year we were impressed with how the cabin coped with highs near 90 and lows in the 40s. Another gorgeous springtime getaway for us here at Little Fox, just what we needed! Looking forward to coming back!

Perfect getaway, quiet & peaceful. Host gave a great welcome pack with all the sights & details. Close to Walmart, restaurants & not far from caverns. The road is the only hiccup, it is gravel & about 3 miles. Absolutely loved it here!!

Quiet Retreat

This little cabin is full of charm. The views of the river are so peaceful, and the cabin was very cozy. The road to get there is a bit rustic, but the destination is worth it.

Little Fox Cottage

Loved this little cottage! It was perfect for my husband and I. Even though there are other rentals around it was still situated where is was secluded. It was neat and clean. The view from the wrap around porch was spectacular! We will definitely come here again!

Great Little Cabin!

We loved our stay at Little Fox! It helped that we were the only ones there (no others in the nearby cabins). The cabin itself is just perfect and clean and we love the view of the river and all the attention to details both in decor of the cabin and comfort for travelers. The White River is gorgeous, and we loved the laid back nature of the area. The Ozark Folk Center was a treat. We did NOT love the chirt road that has quite a few severe washout places...but if that's the price for the privacy and "in the woods" feel, I guess our car can take it. We appreciate the really great communication with owner, too. Thank you!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the cabin and the view! But, you’re right about the road. We’d had almost 3 weeks of off and on heavy rains before you arrived and our county maintained road was in need of grading. I’m so sorry the weather had the road crew running behind. Thank you for being such wonderful guests! I’d love to host you again any time!

Our time at Little Fox Cottage was nothing short of magical. The cottage was clean and inviting. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There were things provided that you might forget as you’re packing. Even the thoughtfulness of things available for people who bring pets. We didn’t bring our dogs but it’s nice to know in the future that they are very welcome. Emily communicated well and often leading up to our arrival. The welcome book was a nice addition for things to do, eat or see in the area. The area was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. And for those who were upset about the road, it wasn’t that bad. I could see if you were a city slicker, you might not know how to drive on it but we took my Toyota Corolla and it did perfectly fine. Thank you Emily for such a wonderful place to relax and recharge. We will be back!
Fork where you got left into the property area. There were three dwellings all well labeled and beautiful.
The simple cozy decor as you enter the cottage.
Label for the cottage.
Cozy living room with the Little Fox wall hanging.

Secluded stay

We wanted to visit the area in the fall, very beautiful. The cottage was perfect for two, all the amenities as listed. We were the only ones in the area, as there's other cottages on the property. We had to use the dual a/c- heaters in the living area & bedroom due to cool weather; they both have remote controls for easy use. Pay heed to the rocky road from the highway to the cottage; not meant for a low lying car! Signage at the highway for the turn off road could be better; look for mailbox with fish plus there's a cemetery sign as well. Definitely arrive in daytime, not dark as it is pitch black at night; its very remote. About 1/2 way on road, theres a dead end sign, but keep going; as soon you'll see Fireside Retreat sign alongside the road; each cottage has its own little sign posted on a tree or pole to direct you. Theres train tracks along the river with occasional train; we had 2 come by in the daytime during our stay. We truly enjoyed our quiet, secluded stay!

We are an older couple, the shower needs a slip free matt, the heating unit needs an upgrade, and the newly replaced approach steps has one step that is different height than to the rest.

Remote and quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay! The road getting in/out was rough and I bottomed out in my car, so go very slow. Watch out for the trees when backing out cause we backed into one. There is no dishwasher, but there is a washer/dryer. If you want a very dark/quiet place then this is the place for you. We loved the deck and wanted to get off the grid for a few days, so it was perfect for us. The interent is spotty so cell phone/Internet service will be interrupted. There were plenty of towels and the bed was firm, but comfortable. There is so much to do in nature in this area, so highly recommend it.
