For nature lovers, far from busy roads, these two houses side by side are ideal for big family holidays and friendly gatherings. Set in 2 hectares with a large pool, the two gites have eight bedrooms and three bathrooms between them.
I live on the land in a caravan and occasionally share the pool. The dog may visit and the cockerel will certainly crow!
Recently renovated, the Grand Gite is light and airy, with a well-equipped kitchen and two terraces. Upstairs the master bedroom has an ensuite, and the other three bedrooms share the large bathroom with its wooden bath and roomy shower.
The Petit Gite is simpler and more old-fashioned - in its own charming way - with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining/sitting room. Upstairs the four bedrooms share a bathroom.
In the courtyard there's plenty of room to eat together, or by the pool with its wood-fired barbecue.
Ping-pong and badminton are available.
Towels and sheets are included, as is the cleaning.
This is my home, not a business. It's not super luxurious and the pool is elderly but functions well. The houses are down-to-earth and a bit arty, and nature and peace are all around.
Nearby are some of the most highly-rated tourist spots in France. The Gouffre de Padirac is a few minutes away, as is Rocamadour and the cascade d'Autoire. There are some great local restaurants and the river Dordogne, fabulous for canoeing and swimming, is a 15 minute drive away.
