We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience. We strive to ensure that our listings and photos accurately describe the property, and since reading your review, we have revisited those items to see if there were any inaccuracies. We stand by our description, and feel that the rustic nature of the cottage and its limited amenities (no TV or dishwasher) is clearly stated. The location is pristine with a wonderful beach area and gradual grade into the water ~ a rare find on our beautiful lake. The nightly rate is reflective of the Otsego Lake market. Considering we don't have set turnover days, or control over the forecast, which was quite rainy this September, it is nearly impossible for us to manage the schedule for the lawn maintenance folks. We can appreciate that the timing was not ideal for you, but feel it is unfortunate that it was reflected in your minimal rating considering the lawn must be maintained regularly, which of course is for the satisfaction of our guests. Lastly, as this community in particular is owned by extended family members who have been coming to visit every summer, having an occasional person walk through from one cottage to another along the established path, is commonplace. I assure you, no-one was sent to check on you. More than likely, they felt uncomfortable for imposing upon you by passing through during your stay.
