I am always dissapointed when a property does not meet a guests expectation.I try to accomodate any unforseen needs as they arise while a guest is staying at a property. I saw the guests were packing up early and when I inquired, "Is everyone ok" the guest responded, " Well the weather is not going to be great and it is impossible to carry wood down to the fire pit". This is after a litany of other comments and requests. The first being to have an additional 2 adults stay in the one bedroom home which I agreed to even though my listing states a max of 2 adults. I became aware of the older age of the couple ( several years older than myself) prior to arrival and offered the parking space closest to the house and my private porch stairs for easy access to the dock. Upon arrival I was texted that "3 of the lights did not work, there was no canoe (Not offered in the amenity list), there is a rip in the screen door, a text was not recieved (he did find it ultimately on the vrbo messaging chain), and is there bottled water" Hmmm,,,,okay. I responded within 8 minutes of recieving his text. I told him I was 1/2 hour away and would come to the house as soon as I got home. When I got home I brought up a gallon of water , a couple of lightbulbs and should them how to turn on the 2 european light fixtures that have never led to any confusion in the past. Indeed a third light bulb was out and I replaced it. I told them there are 2 paddle boards and 2 kayaks but not a canoe but I could probabIy secure one for them up ...which I did thanks to my neighbor but was told that there was "no longer a need for a canoe" due to the weather. They requested more towels...never a problem and I thought they were for their additional guests. I was told otherwise. They were brought up to the guest with the half hour. Additionally...there is a broom just inside the door in the corner.I had just , that morning, trimmed the vine over the door entrance to keep jasmine blooms from falling...really I DID!I hope the pictures clearly represent the property including the access to the dock and water.The Nest was obviously not a good fit for this guest and his wife and I'm always sad for a guest when the weather isn't optimal but I could sense that this was going to be a challenging week from the get go. His last comment, for me, represents the crux of his discontent.The weather was generally rainy for the stay . Sadly that wasnot in my power to change by replacing a light bulb :{
