Welcome to Au Pied des Vignes
Nestled in the heart of the Saint-Pourçain AOC vineyards — one of the oldest wine-growing regions in France — this fully renovated old farmhouse offers a peaceful countryside retreat, just 2 km from the town centre of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule and all its amenities (shops, restaurants, monuments, activities).
Véronique and Emmanuel designed this gîte to strike the perfect balance between old-world charm — exposed stone walls, wooden beams — and contemporary comfort. Large windows open onto the surrounding countryside, with the vineyards just a short distance away.
The accommodation
The 80 m² gîte comprises 2 bedrooms (sleeping 5), a living room with a fully equipped open kitchen, a wood-burning stove for cool evenings, 1 shower room with a walk-in Italian shower, and a separate WC. A covered, sheltered terrace with garden furniture and a plancha grill extends the living space outdoors. A washing machine and dishwasher are available, along with baby equipment on request. Linens are provided, beds are made on arrival, and cleaning is included.
From June to September, enjoy the swimming pool, shared with the owners — a friendly touch in a peaceful setting.
Around the gîte
On foot or by bike, discover the paths winding between the vineyards and the Sioule river. Independent winegrowers from the appellation welcome you into their cellars for tastings, and the Museum of Vine and Terroir in the town centre traces the history of this thousand-year-old wine region. Hiking, canoeing on the Sioule, tree-top adventure courses, rail-biking: the region is perfect for both active getaways and relaxation. Vichy and its famous thermal spas are just 30 minutes away. For younger guests, the PAL (wildlife and amusement park) promises an unforgettable day out.
