Villa Real- Santa Teresa Hills

Villa Real is located on one of the beautiful hills of Santa Teresa Costa Rica, inside a gated community, just 7 minutes (1 km) to shops, restaurants and the best surf spots in the area.
The villa has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, 3 of them en suite (2 King size beds, 1 queen size bed and 1 double bed) Every room has an A/C and ceiling fan. Fully equipped kitchen, 50MB WiFi, private swimming pool, outside rancho with bar area and BBQ grill, gated property, and all the amenities for a comfortable and unforgettable vacation. The villa includes daily cleaning and concierge service.

The villa can accommodate up to 10 people. The price changes depending on the number of people.

4x4 vehicle or an Atv is needed to get to the villa and to travel around the area. Our concierge will be happy to assist you with the transportations inquiry.

**Parties or events are not allowed, No extra audio system or loud music.

The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Clear warm water, white sand, coconut palms and spectacular sunsets! Is the perfect combination of amazing beaches, waves all year round and luxury.
Many activities to do in the area, such as fishing trips, snorkeling, Canopy, waterfalls, Tortuga Island tours, massage sessions, yoga classes or surf lessons.

Had a great stay at the Villa in Santa Teresa

Thank you Lee for taking such a good care of us and being beyond accommodating. Our group doubled in size after the booking and Lee went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and unforgettable. The location of the Villa is convenient, the villa is functional and equipped with the basics. The pool is the BEST feature - it is an amazing lap pool. Thank you again!

Pros and Cons With This Location

We had a pleasant stay at the Villa Real. The pool and outside area was our favorite part of the property; and of course the view of the ocean was quite lovely! The home is mostly as presented in the photos, although there has been a little wear and tear in places; however, this was mostly minor (e.g., bedroom furniture) and the wall paint appears to have been touched up regularly. One of the master bedrooms had a musty smell in the bathroom. However, the pool is beginning to show its age as there are many tiles missing on the edge, as well as on the bottom. The pool was never quite filled so the infinity effect was not present and we could see the gaps in the tiles. The most important piece of feedback we'd like other guests to be aware of is the location. The VRBO map location is inaccurate and, as other reviews mention, it is a 4x4 adventure getting to this property. The road to the house is a very steep (20+% grade in many places) and bumpy (many potholes, dirt and rock road) 1.5 km; it took us about 15 minutes to drive this each way, which was significantly longer and more difficult than we were expecting.

Skip, dusty, 10 minute dangerous drive to beach and town

Skip. The host listed the property as a 2 minute walk to the beach and it was a 10-12 min 4x4 drive challenge. Since we planned to be able to walk we checked out and asked for a refund. He has not done so to make the situation right. Santa Teresa has been taken over by tourists and developers and not your typical Costa Rica pura vida experience. The developers have given zero respect to the locals and it shows. The town is dirty and noisy with atv 4x4 quads everywhere. Not a town for families or young kids. To get to the home you traverse an unpaved uphill rocky dusty road that takes at least 10 minutes to drive. Not at all possible to walk it. Although we had 4x4 car, that is not enough and each time we felt like we were about to get a flat tire we felt it was too unsafe to continue to do this multiple times a day with our family so we checked out and only stayed 1 out of our 4 nights that is how bad it was. We went about an hour away to a much more peaceful Costa Rican resort. Additionally, this home we stayed in for one night was the only place in Costa Rica that did not recycle including the town. That should tell you something as well as a red flag that the developers do not care about preserving the beauty of Costa Rica or the culture of the locals that everyone dreams to experience in Costa Rica. The house itself was nice, but there is a new home build going up right in front of this home which blocks 75% of the view.

The house, the view, the pool and the outdoor lounge area were phenomenal. Mercedes was incredibly responsive and helpful on all aspects of our stay. I would note, as she states, a 4x4 is a requirement. The road to the house takes some getting used to but once you've done it a couple times it's not a problem. My only pain point is the first time you arrive at the house, it would be wonderful to have some supplies (paper towels, dish rags, dish soap & sponge, etc). The kitchen could also be a bit more stocked with utensils, glasses, plastic cups for the pool area, etc. We have rented many homes and when these staples are supplied you're able to relax more quickly, esp if you're a bit weary of traveling up and down the hill.

So hard to leave....

This is a beautiful villa with a fantastic pool and stunning views. It feels very new and clean, is well appointed, and is in a great location. Very quiet, a short drive to the beach. You definitely need a four wheel drive to get there, but you really need one to drive around Costa Rica anyway. The villa is part of a small community with a security guard who lives on site so it feels safe. There are a couple of new houses on the lot below the house so you can now see a little bit of rooftop between the pool and the ocean, but the views are still amazing. We were there in February and the sun set right over the pool. Mercedes was also really kind and responsive. She helped us a great deal when another property owner, Soriya, cancelled our rental at the last minute (very unprofessional). To be honest, we are thrilled she did because this property was a dream. We wanted to stay forever and would DEFINITELY rent again!

Really nice house. Great pool and view

House was perfect we were a party of 5 and room for more. The pool was a good length great for daily laps. Daily cleaners was a good feature and a guard out front gave us peace of mind. Merecedes was really great to deal with. She was prompt in texting and communicating and very accommodating. The only tricky part was the dirt road from town to the house. Harder with a car. We were fine once we rented ATVs.

Everything you like about the Mal Pais/Santa Teresa area without everything you don't. If you've been to this area before you probably like the beaches, the waves, the fresh seafood, and access to the unique culture surrounding "the strip", but would love to leave the dusty, rough and noisy road behind. If you'd like to be 5 minutes from all of that and rest in a tranquil stylish abode where the sounds of parrots and howler monkeys have no competition, (save the sound of distant crashing waves) this is the place for you. A house, to be sure, but one which has such a neutral modern treatment that you don't have any sense that you're living in someone else's home: simple, clean, and refined. On top of this, Mercedes was an excellent host, lightning fast responses to texts and accommodating without end. you couldn't ask for more. One note that our party agreed it was particularly important to stress is that you absolutely need a 4 wheel drive car to get to this destination. It seems that any 4x4 would do, but simply isn't worth trying to get to with only a 2x4. With a 4x4 of any kind you'll have no trouble and arrive easily, but having it is a must. Simply put this location was a highlight of our trip. Safe, clean, relaxing, blissful view, sublime ambience.

I keep coming back!

I am happy the house is available for renting again - I came back last week and they just remodel the pool area to add two amazing ranchos that replaced the old pool umbrellas and they look soooo great! I didn't remember how beautiful this house was until I came in and I said: WOW - Just like the 1st time I rented it! The view is breathtaking. I really want to rent this house every week and while I can't, I will rent it every time I can. Dani knows that :)

I’m not really one for writing reviews, but I couldn’t let this one slide. Santa Teresa is a dream tucked away on the edge of the rainforest. My first time travelling to CR, expectations were high and Casa Real needed to be impeccable to match. It did just that, in fact exceeded expectations. A contemporary designed villa, clean, comfortable and well furnished, perched up on top of a hill with plenty of privacy and nature, 5 mins drive from the town & beach. Indoor/outdoor spaces are flooded with natural light. The owner/couple were just lovely people, really welcoming, with great energy. Santa Teresa sees spectacular sunsets, we definitely saved the best for last, catching the sunset by the pool at the villa on the last day of our trip. We had a magical stay and I look forward to returning sometime soon.

My stay was absolutely amazing!!! it was paradise!! From the moment I arrived, the service was fabulous and so attentive to my needs. The view from the property was something out of a dream. the quiet and serene atmosphere is something that is priceless! I would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying here. It is a place I will never fogey and look forward to coming back soon!!

After a long drive to Santa Teresa in the night, we arrived this beautiful place and found paradise :) All you can imagine while traveling to the end of the world was there: great facilities, breathtaking view, fantastic hospitality, quiet and waves... Most recommended!

Nothing but amazing !

It's the first time I see that tge real thng is way more beautiful then the pictures! This is an amazing house , top class with the best views, lots of privacy , and by far the best vacation to be in. The owners are amazing and help you with everything you need with a big smile, which I find very important as well. The whole village is nothing but magical and a must visit.

Breathtaking Views and More

I've rented other houses in the area before and I've rented houses in Conchal, Tamarindo, Ocotal etc and this house is a winner. You cannot beat the view. The pool is huge. The kitchen is big enough. The rooms are cozy.It's perfect for entertainment or for a romantic getaway. I will be back next month. I highly recommended.
