Restful retreat with friends
A lovely and serene retreat for our knitting group of six.
We especially enjoyed the multiple sitting/lounging spaces, the beautiful forest views, the well stocked kitchen, and the warm and comfortable atmosphere.
Other comments sum up the little quirks of the property, so we knew what to expect when booking. Items to keep in mind: 1) the oven is smaller than standard size. It was fine for our needs, but I understand why another commenter who was trying to cook a Thanksgiving dinner had some trouble. 2) The hot tub is showing its age. It was clean, but some jet controls were broken/missing, and it was very difficult to get warmer than 100 degrees. It was still pleasant and enjoyable for our group and the view of the redwoods more than makes up for the water temp. 3) As with all places managed by Vacasa, you can expect the bare minimum when it comes to toiletries and pantry staples. If in doubt, bring your own. That being said, the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need in terms of dishes, cookware & bakeware to prep your meals. 4) I wish we hadn’t been required to drive into Gualala to pick up parking passes, but I was glad that I knew I would have to before I booked the place. It would have been an unwelcome surprise to find out about it upon arrival.
