## Emplacement
Located on the French Riviera between Nice and Cannes, the old town of Antibes borders the Grande Bleue and competes with colors. These colors are particularly sublimated in the free commune of Safranier: the cream-colored facades are bordered by a luxuriant vegetation declined in a vast palette of pink, yellow, green, red, purple... This part of the old Antibes, surrounded by ramparts, offers beautiful perspectives of walks between the calm and shaded streets, studded with Provencal shutters.
Continue this bucolic escape to the Cap d'Antibes at the small port of Olivette where the multicolored pointus waltz around, similar to an azurean postcard. The more athletic will put on their walking shoes to explore the surrounding paths, starting with the famous Chemin des Douaniers, also called Tire-Poil, 5 km long, stretching over the entire cape. A sumptuous itinerary facing the monochrome of blues bordering the steep rock, punctuated by the song of the cicadas and the delicious smells of the pine forest! After the effort, there's nothing like a swim in the crystal clear sea: the Cap d'Antibes is home to some remarkable beaches for snorkeling. Bordered by a long stretch of sand, they are full of rocks once in the water, which greatly favors the emergence of aquatic life. Isolated coves nestle along the way.
If you feel like it, climb up from the Cap d'Antibes to the Garoupe lighthouse, which offers an incredible panorama of the major sites of the French Riviera such as Nice, Cannes, Juan-les-Pins and the Lerins Islands.
Continue your journey to downtown Antibes to discover some of its major cultural sites. The Picasso Museum, housed in the majestic Château Grimaldi, which reveals a huge stone robe overlooking the sea, has some of the artist's major works: La joie de vivre, Satyre and Faune were created in Antibes when the painter stayed there. Ceramics, sculptures and paintings are scattered throughout this vast space along with other works of modern art. As such, consider visiting the museum's terrace where imposing contemporary sculptures in ebony tones dominate the coastline.
Outside the old town is the charming Vauban port with its pretty white boats. One of the reasons to come here is for its good restaurants that echo the sweet flavors of neighboring Italy. And if you're visiting in the morning, check out Antibes' Provencal market, which is full of local products to take home for a tasty seaside picnic!
