Enjoy a relaxing stay in our modernized historic home in Suttons Bay. Clean, simple, modern design. Fresh & modern kitchen and bathrooms, beautifully historic front porch - all the nostalgia without the doilies! Ping pong in the basement and Euchre on the front porch. Solo stove and a picnic table in the backyard. Charcoal Weber Grill. Take a short 2-block walk down tree-lined streets to all that Suttons Bay has to offer. Two blocks off of the TART trail. Also centrally located in Leelanau County. It's a short bicycle or car trip to some of northern Michigan’s finest restaurants & wineries, fall color, boating, festivals, hiking & biking trails, shopping, and historic sites, and only 13 miles to Traverse City.
BOOKING TIPS:
Memorial Day through Labor Day there is a 1 week minimum. The house changes over on Friday- so weeks are booked Friday through Friday.

Front porch gem

The porch and location were our favorite. Quiet neighborhood located next to two churches. Front porch is a big yet peaceful hangout spot. House is very well decorated and updated. Easy walk to everything in town. Enjoyed shopping, restaurants, art fair, 15-min trip to Leland (must see if you’ve never been). Host was friendly and replied immediately to a couple needs with the house.

Nice home

Every thing was very nice. I think the listing should mention that both baths are down stairs and only one bedroom is on the ground floor. I’m 68 and my sister is 70. Stairs were an issue for her husband.

A charming old home in a beautiful location

Suttons Bay is a gorgeous locale, and this lovely old home matched the environment perfectly. The stone facade is unique to the area. The interior is beautifully renovated and very well-stocked. The old front porch is perfect for morning coffee and watching the sun rise. The only possible sticking point is that both bathrooms are on the main floor. The two upstairs bedrooms are comfy but the old architecture doesn't provide space for an upstairs bathroom. This might be a sticking point for some. We did not find this to be a big issue, however.

Smoke alarms went off three times the first night and once the second night. Host originally stated that had never happened before, but admitted the second night that it happened before and an electrician said it was because of temperature differences, humidity, dust and mosquitoes. No one slept well for two nights and the safety issue knowing the smoke alarms were not functioning properly was not very calming. The Host did not appear to be too concerned about any of these issues. I have documentation of all correspondence related to this issue.

Very charming home! Great location within Suttons Bay. We were able to walk to anything we wanted to see. We had a couple of rainy days during our stay so we stayed at the house during that time which was fine with us! Great communication with the owner before and during our stay. May the porch be with you!

This house was ideal for our vacation. We spent hours chilling on the fabulous porch between our explorations around the peninsula. House has everything you could possibly need and the perfect blend of walkable to downtown/beach and quiet respite. Becky was an excellent communicator about everything. Charming In-Town Oasis

We have a great time in the Sutton's Bay Stone House! The location was ideal to town, beach parks and biking trails. The house was very clean and we encountered no issues. The front porch was our favorite spot for games, food and relaxing. Truly a hidden gem!

100 year old stone cottage

the property was very nice. The location was great for us as we were half way between Traverse city and Northport in Sutton’s place. We usually enjoy being on the water but for this time of year it was perfect. My fault was thinking there was a fireplace for the cold days we were there for. Would have loved a fireplace but again I did not read the ad carefully enough but the cottage did stay nice and warm!!!!! This place would have been perfect for larger families!

The perfect location!

The Stone House had absolutely everything my group need. Was a couple blocks from town and an easy walk for shopping, visits to the water and restaurants. Had a great kitchen to cook in. A dining area for meals and games. A screened in porch for checking out the. neighborhood scene. And enough bedrooms and bathrooms for each couple to have their own space. Would definitely stay again
