I would like to leave my response as to why James’ review of our property is false. James and his group left the house extremely dirty and unorganized. Despite what he has said about the cleanliness, the house was very clean before he checked in. The pictures on the listing is how the house looks. Aside from the regular house cleaning, we always sweep, mop, and sweep again the day before new guests check in. He mentioned the floors were dirty, however we always clean and check to make sure the house is suitable before guests’ arrival. We were not aware of the interrupted Wi-Fi as landscapers came to redo our front and backyard recently. I contacted AT&T and requested a technician to be sent out right away. James asked me to compensate him for the Wi-Fi not working, we did not agree. The morning of check in, he messaged me asking if they could check in early to shower so they can explore the city. Hours later they checked in and complained about the Wi-Fi. We decided not to compensate them because if they really wanted to explore the city, they wouldn’t have cared so much about wanting money back for the Wi-Fi. They broke a desk, there was vomit on one of the beds that soaked past 2 layers of sheets and stained the wooden bedframe, vomit residue left on the floor, and violated many of our house rules. James asked me to refund his money for their time at the house, saying a couple people in his group left to a hotel room as they were uncomfortable with their stay. We did not refund James as majority of his group decided to stay throughout their entire booking. They used electricity, water, ac/heat, and not to mention many signs of them having LIVED around the house. We cannot refund them if they chose to stay. As for James mentioning he was “forced to stay,” like his couple people that left, he was free to cancel his booking and leave as well. He did not once mention to us that he wanted to cancel, he just kept messaging me asking for compensations and refunds. Therefore, him being “forced” to stay is entirely a lie. He complained about the house RIGHT AFTER he checked in, but chose to stay the whole time. He was just trying to get a free stay. We take our guests’ recommendations and needs seriously into consideration, and are always engaging in improvements for our house and for our guests’ comfort. After everything, I would like to thank James for choosing our house and for the experience of hosting a group of very dirty guests.
