Stunning location and house. The house was very comfortable with a large group, with plenty of seating inside and out. Very well-maintained. Loved having the extra TV/ping pong table room (kids could sprawl their toys out during the day and we could use it during the evenings and not worry about waking up the kids). We spent hours on the beach, swimming, kayaking everyday. The water stays shallow for quite a distance. The one negative is the lack of beach on the house’s property. During our stay, even during low tide, the water went all the way to the rocks and steps. Thankfully, the neighbors saw us struggling to carry our kids and chairs down and insisted we use their beach access and also let us park ourselves on the beach that was technically on their property. I might hesitate to rent again for that reason, but would probably risk it again. There is not far to walk on the beach, but it is an incredible, quiet location with so much wildlife and a marsh nearby. Loved watching the many species of crabs and herons and incredible sunsets.

Wonderful family vacation rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family has stayed at Beauty on the Beach several times. It is a great family rental, lots of comfortable space to enjoy for everyone, kids and adults. We have always found the house to be clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. The beach is a good walk at low tide and there's also a public entrance at the end of Picketts Harbor Rd to a much longer beach for walking. The house is close to Cape Charles where there are nice shops and a wonderful bakery, The Mason St. Bakery and a great ice cream shop, The Brown Dog (seasonal) as well as several restaurants. The Hook and Harvey restaurant is very special, by reservation only, small and sophisticated yet local and friendly. $$$. More casual and good food and alcohol is AJ's Bar and Grill, The Shanty, Cape Charles Brewing, The Beach Market, Deadrise Italian Kitchen and others.$$Only one recommendation for this property: the downstairs master shower has a shower head that is not only difficult to adjust but puts out very little water, definitely not enough to wash your hair. A replacement would make it perfect!

Amazing stay

We had a great stay at this property! It was the perfect house for multiple families. We had 3 families with 6 kids under 5. Everyone had their own space and it was easy to spread out. The location on the water was great and the outdoor space was perfect. We loved the wood burning and gas fireplace options. The outdoor furniture was comfortable and really good quality. It did not feel like a cheap rental property space at all. The kitchen was fully stocked with so many things and the house felt very homey. An added bonus was the blinds in every room that made it really dark and great for kids not waking up at sunrise. The movie/play room was awesome for the kids too. Only complaint was there were A LOT of fruit flies that were really difficult to keep out of the kitchen. This is likely just due to the location on the bay/time of year and was not a cleanliness issue of the house at all, however it was annoying. Overall the house was amazing and we would definitely rent again!

A quiet paradise

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the single most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. Everything was even better than we expected. The rooms are so big and the common places luminous and cozy. The house was super clean, the kitchen well stocked, the barbecue and fire pits worked well. Communication with the host was easy and efficient. The backyard is the stuff of dreams and the private beach simply makes you feel like you live on your own private island. I cannot recommend this place enough, I’m already thinking of going back. And don’t get me started on the sunsets ! 11/10, worth every penny.

Great Stay

Highly enjoyed our time at this well appointed property! The kitchen had everything you could need, the game room was a hit, and the kids loved their own room together. Couldn’t beat the firepit at night and the sound system that allowed for some family dance parties during the most incredible sunsets. What a lovely place to wait out Hurricane Debby (and much better weather than we could have hoped for during a hurricane week)!

Beautiful view, Secluded Spot, Great Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay and really loved the location of this house. It was perfect for small kids and multiple families. We loved that the house was steps away from the beach which allowed us to back anytime for lunches and naps without having to pack up a car or golf cart. The property is very secluded with only one house in view and we had our beach to ourselves the whole week. The beach was beautiful and we found so many sandbars to sit our chairs in the water and float around. The house was beautiful but had some wear and tear. We had issues with certain things working. Half the house didn't have hot water even after maintenance came, so we had to share showers. We couldn't get the gas fireplace to work, and certain rooms would get really warm even though we had air on. The house could have been cleaned better. When we arrived, ledges were dusty and had dead bugs, fingerprints were on the windows, a hair clip was left in one shower, couch cover had stains, bottom of garbage can was gross, etc. The house could benefit from a good deep clean and I know it's mid season, but for the price and the fees we paid, it should have been spotless. Overall we really had a great stay and I would recommend this property because of its location, its beach, and its views.

Another great stay

This was our family's second visit, requested by the grandkids. The house is in a great location, we enjoyed the beach and time in Cape Charles looking in shops, eating and having delicious ice cream at The Brown Dog ice cream store. The media room is great for family activities, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable.

Relaxing and Comfortable Home

The house is warm and welcoming and oh so easy to relax into. The location is great and it's about a ten minute drive into Cape Charles. The sitting area down by the shore is a lovely place to watch the waves and the birds. The beach is available at low tide and the tide tables are easy to look up. Walking on the beach is best a couple of hours before low tide and a couple of hours after.

Amazing!

We had such a wonderful time at Beauty on the Beach. We were a large group of 12 friends (3 families) reuniting after years apart. We had more than enough space, even losing track of each other at times. The home is beautiful, clean and very well stocked. The kids loved having the bunk room as their little hide away. We so enjoyed all the nature the eastern shore has to offer: crabs, dolphins, horseshoe crabs, hermit crabs, etc. Doug could not have been more accommodating. There was a large thunderstorm while we were there and we partially lost the HVAC system (not a complaint at all, just speaking to how awesome Doug is!) He was on top of it, sending a crew over immediately and even followed up to make sure we were comfortable. We made so many wonderful memories and will for sure be back. Thank you so much for everything!

Family Vacation Memory

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I reserved "Beauty on the Beach" almost immediately after our first visit in the summer of 2022. The house is very well maintained, the interior details and landscaping are tasteful, elegant and immaculate. There was even a major upgrade to the already fantastic entertainment system. Although our Granddaughters are only 3 to 4 years old, they remembered and really enjoyed returning to the "a-cationhouse". The beach is perfect for learning swimmers, kayaks and canoes. finding hermit crabs enjoying the scenery including the occasional sight of Bald eagles and fish jumping out of the water. The sunsets are truly spectacular! I came down with a medical condition the week before our scheduled rental....and did not expect to make the trip.....the fact that the owners were willing to offer a 100% refund because of the medical emergency reveal the owners character and kindness. I was so glad to be to recover while watching my family enjoy each others company in this truly beautiful and relaxing location.

Truly lives up to its name-It is a Beauty!

Our stay at Beauty on the Beach was OUTSTANDING! The house is truly spectacular! It is beautifully furnished and well stocked. The kitchen was amazing and extremely well equipped with pots, pans, dishes etc.. The bunk room above the garage was a huge hit with the kids- they loved their cousin sleepovers and had fun playing pirates and princesses. The TV viewing room was also a favorite along with the ping pong table-with some close family games played among the adults. The bedrooms were large and beds were very comfortable- room for everyone!!! We used the fire place for smores and the gas fireplace for fireside chats at night. The beach was wonderful for the kids and adults. It was truly a wonderful vacation for the whole family!

One of my Best VRBO Experiences to Date

This was one of the best VRBO stays that we have had the pleasure of experiencing. The house is great. It has large open spaces to accommodate any group. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is extremely well appointed. It was unusually cold when we visited, but it didnt matter. We had a great time relaxing in the house and on the back porch watching the sunset and enjoying the warmth that the sun provided. There is also great access to lots of towns and activities nearby. We look forward to coming back soon.

Perfect House for Family Vacation

As other reviewer have said, the pictures do not do this property justice. It is big, immaculate and accomodated all our needs. We were a family of 13 - parents, children and grandparents. The kids loved the 'hangout' room over the garage and the adults loved having their own king suites. The beach and water were perfect especially being able to walk out to the sandbar at low tide. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to the Eastern Shore.

Cape Charles Retreat

My family loved and throughly enjoyed our vacation at Cape Charles! This house was absolutely beautiful and offered plenty of space for our family of six adults and three children (ages 10, 3 and 1). You could see the bay from the window of the house and the short walk was very convenient with little ones. The yard and patio were big enough to relax, play games, utilize the fireplace, and even have water balloon fights. After staying here we are definitely spoiled and can never go back to having to walk even a block to the beach/bay. My family would highly recommend this home and thank you for letting us stay and enjoy a fun and relaxing week.

Lives up to its Title; Beauty on the Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First there is an actual beach with enough sand to hang out all day if you like, even at high tide. We enjoyed watching our very young grand children play in the sand and in the gentle surf. The beach is perfect for children just learning how to swim... the slope is very gradual with a three foot depth approximately 50 yards out at low tide. The house and the view from the house are absolutely beautiful...we have rented beautiful shore homes in the past, but this is the first time I can honestly say; photographs do not do justice to the actual clean and spacious rooms.... all with a fantastic view of the private beach. Our weather was perfect for outdoor breakfasts on the porch and patio. One morning we witnessed an osprey flying directly overhead with a snake in its mouth....seconds later a Bald Eagle appeared and followed the osprey in pursuit. The furniture, grill, and fire pit made for memorable evenings spent around the fireplace while watching the sunsets.The owner obviously does things right...the house and all of the provided amenities such as the grill, kitchen appliances, outdoor furniture, coffee maker, landscaping, entertainment system....I could go on, are either new or well maintained. Seeing the very special location and how the owner takes care of the property should encourage all future renters to treat this place like their own and keep it living up to its title: "Beauty on the Beach".

Beauty on the Beach is the best!

Property was great for a family of varying ages and physical ability. Beach is very sandy and good for young explorers, and the water shallow. The new fire pit and terrace are ideal additions. The bedroom/bathroom ratio works well; the loft area and media room are ideal for teenagers. Great kitchen layout. We appreciated access to a washer/dryer and all the amenities not normally supplied through a VRBO rental. Thank you for a great family vacation location!

Summer of 2022 in Cape Charles

We actually rented this house and the one next door. My wife and I have 6 adult children with their significant other and 12 grandkids. The grandkids ages go 2-12 yr olds 1-9 yr old 2- 7 yr olds 3-4 yr olds 3-2yr olds and an infant. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep. The yards were great for everyone to play the water/beach was very private. The golf course was spectacular (Bay Creek). The house was beautiful with the large recreational room and magnificent views. The four bedrooms were like 4 master bedrooms. We had an excellent week
