Though I am now 50, I can safely say that staying here still invigorated me with a sense of wonder and awe. Not only was the accommodation everything advertised and so much more, but the location was something I never dreamed of. I will never forget the beauty of the tall trees falling off into the ocean, and how everything around was teeming with life even in November. And since people probably also want to know how the place itself was, it was absolutely perfect. The minimalist and warm design, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, and super genuine and nice hosts combined for an ideal stay.

Fantastic relaxing retreat

A very high end accommodation located in a superb setting outside of Sooke. The property has everything that you need for a quiet and relaxing trip and can be used as a base to explore the surrounding beaches and hiking trails. Amazing view!!

My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway on his Birthday. The property and view was absolutely gorgeous! It was everything we hoped for and more…lots of beaches and trails to explore in the area. The host were very pleasant and and easy to deal with. We will definitely be returning! The babymoon of our dreams

We travelled from Alberta to the island to spend a couple days of R&R before the arrival of our baby. Rob was extremely friendly, meeting us when we arrived and gave us a tour of our suite and provided in-depth detail of all the amazing sites to see/things to do surrounding us. The suite was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We absolutely loved it and hope to be back one day. Breathtaking beauty just one step outside the door.

Everything we were hoping for!

Beautiful, quiet and private location, stunning views, eagles, hummingbirds, water, mountains, nature trails and beaches for walks. The studio apartment was perfect for the two of us, and very comfortable - as pictured! Planning to go back for a longer stay, and have already told a number of our friends. Rob was an amazing host.

Cozy retreat

We came out for some hiking and a cozy retreat for a couple of days. This place lived up to its description and was very welcoming and comfortable. We did some hiking (and got very wet) and found it a lovely place to come back to. The local wood-fired pizza from Stoked made for a delicious treat. About the only thing we could have used that wasn't there is a drying rack!

A piece of heaven one earth....

Rob and his wife Lynn are great hosts! They are so hospitable, thoughtful and easy-going. This is our second time back and we intent to come back many more times! You wake up to a beautiful view of the sea, hear the sound of the waves, all at your doorstep....and the only sound you hear is nature! It's perfect!

Perfection

When these days are you ever shocked by somebody going above and beyond…? Or when a place you goto far exceeds your expectations when you are pretty sure it’s going to be excellent in the first place…? This is the place and Robert is the owner… We frequent this area and how great was it to find Roberts property and well appointed suite…very great! The ocean deck alone is worth the price of admission, (spectacular!) However the excellence just continues through the suite with…everything! The fine craftsmanship and thought that has gone into building and designing this place is tasteful and modern. You have everything you want but it maintains a minimalist calming design. Fine leather chairs, giant shower, amazing bed with views, and blackout shades when needed…it has it all! Robert was the perfect host, knowledgeable about the area and friendly to talk to yet, yielding to let you enjoy your stay! Thank you! We will be back for sure! Can’t wait….

My parents really enjoyed their stay at Rob's property. They were impressed with how well it was built, how clean it was, and the wildlife they were able to see (whales, hummingbirds, eagles, etc). Rob also was very helpful advising us on local things to do. It worked very well for us as we were on a big family trip, with the rest of us staying just down the road. It gave my parents a break from the noise but close enough that they were easily able to join in with our day trips. Thanks so much!

We wanted a get-away without having to go too far from our home in Victoria. Once we were on the other side of Sooke, it felt like we had been transported hundreds of miles away. The location was exactly as we were hoping for -- right beside the shoreline; open views of the changing ocean & sky. Our host, Robert, graciously met us upon arrival - and there we were - on the doorstep to multiple other beaches and trails along the coast. The suite was exceptionally clean, with all necessary amenities at hand. Lovely spot on all accounts!

Island life is different, unique and relaxing.
We chose the most beautiful and warmest area of Canada.
-dozens of parks. trails, hiking, biking, all very close or within an hour drive,
-oceanfront views from every room make us think we are still on vacation
after living here for 7 years,
-3 acres of privacy and quiet solitude, but only 20 minutes from shopping,
-wildlife with whales, seals, otters, bears, deer, cougar, bald eagles, hummingbirds,
viewed at times throughout the year (no guarantee of daily sightings)
We wouldn't choose to live any where else.

Not suitable for stays over 4 days, but we have a one and a two bedroom condo suite for rent if available.
Whales, orcas, sea lions, seals, otters, bald eagles, bears, deer have all been see on the property.
Great fishing, whale watching and guided hiking tours nearby.
