Welcome to The Little Black Cottage, your perfect Lake Lure getaway. Just 5 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park and so many fun spots. This charming retreat features a king bedroom, a full bathroom with a soaker tub, a cozy queen sofa sleeper, and an updated kitchenette with a Nespresso maker. The outdoor living area is a highlight, complete with a propane firepit, Blackstone griddle, and a top-of-the-line hot tub. We also have two kayaks with vests and oars. Enjoy a perfect blend of comfort and luxury in a prime location!

- Amenities: Shampoo, body wash, blow dryer, fresh towels, and washcloths.

Cleaning Supplies:
- Stocked with paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, multi purpose spray & a broom and dustpan.

Entertainment:
- Smart TV in the living room, multiple board games, and card games!

Courtyard:
- Features a cozy hot tub, a Blackstone griddle, six-person outdoor dining table, comfortable seating, propane fire pit

Pet Policy:
- Maximum: 2 pets.
- Fees: $30 for each pet.

- Asheville: 45 minutes to downtown.
- Asheville Regional Airport: 40 minutes away.
- Biltmore Estate: 45 minutes away.

Wifi Notice:
Lake Lure is in a mountain setting with wifi service that is typically very good, but it can sometimes be slow or temporarily go out. During storms there may also be power outages and internet disruptions, though the power company provides restoration timeframes. While we hope neither of these things will impact your stay, we want to keep you informed just in case!

- Due to Hurricane Helene, Lake Lure is not currently open but is announced to be re-opened around May 2026!

✨Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views.
If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.

Guest access
You have full access to the entire home, courtyard and shared access to the semi-private cove (shared among the 12 home owners in the neighborhood and their guests, only).

Other things to note
The beautiful Chimney Rock State Park and mountain trails are open, and the quaint, riverside town of Chimney Rock is welcoming visitors to its many shops and restaurants. The lake will be open for boating and swimming in late spring 2026!

December-March has the potential to bring snow and ice, please consider your vehicle capability when booking during this time.

NATURE NOTE:
Being surrounded by the woods means you’re truly one with nature! While we do have regular pest control, you may still encounter a few adventurous insects.

We try to accommodate early check in’s for $25 per hour and can confirm only on the day of check in. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate late check outs. Unapproved early check-in or late check-out will result in a $50 fee.
