Waterscape Goes Downhill
I am disappointed at my stay at Waterscape. This is our second time here and overall, it’s very clear that the resort is cutting corners. Their lack of attention to detail really shows they are not customer focused. There were 2 water features, the blue "rainbow" and the crab at the splash pad were not functioning properly. The pool was incredibly dirty. They should sweep/ clean it daily, especially since they don’t allow people in it until 8. The prices at the tiki hut are outrageous. 16$ for a beverage is frustrating, especially when you don’t have access to a room. Vacasa doesn’t allow you to check in until 4:00pm, yet kicks you out at 10:00AM. As a family with small kids, this REALLY impacted the quality of our stay. The majority of 2 days of our stay, which is HALF, we were not able to access the room that we paid for. Also, the prices have clearly gone up, with the quality of the amenities going down.
The unit we stayed in this time was definitely not as nice as the one we stayed in last time. Being on the first floor and steps from the pool was nice. It would be nicer if the slider had a key or key code so that we could enter/ exit and leave without it being unlocked.
The unit itself needs serious updates. One bathroom didn’t have hot water in the shower and had a bed so uncomfortable I physically could not sleep on it. The other bunk beds and primary bed were pretty comfy.
The unit had a very foul smell, perhaps from cleaner, but it was insufferable. I found it impossible to stay in the bathroom with the door closed without gagging.
The furniture, specifically the couch and dining chairs, had significant stains. They held discolored, dirty cushions. The couch was so thin, you could hear the springs of the sofa bed beneath when you shifted your weight.
If you aren’t a clean freak and don’t care about some of the other features of the home, the location is great. That said, taking an extra 3 minutes a day to walk to the pool or beach is worth it to me in replace of a unit that honors the value of the dollar they demonstrate with the price.
I don’t foresee us returning to Waterscape again due to the quality of unit and amenities that don’t seem to be customer focused or worth the higher price tag they are demanding.
