Custom 3BR Home with Private Heated Pool & Exclusive Beach Access

You’re just steps away from restaurants, shops and activities. Plus it’s in the beach block of quiet Laika Lane – enjoy the white sand beach and warm Gulf waters. The house has three bedrooms, three baths, and sleeps eight comfortably.

Lika Laika was custom designed by architects to take advantage of the location. It is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The main entrance brings you into the large dining room seating eight. On the right opens the bright family room with many large windows, comfortable seating and the entertainment area. The home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and will sleep 8 at ease. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one with a king en-suite and large sitting area and the second primary with a queen en-suite. Stairs lead down from the main level to the pool and patio area, featuring a long and narrow, private, heated pool. The large screen enclosure also covers the patio and shaded cook-out area (large gas grill, outdoor shower and dining table). Lika Laika is in a perfect location right in the heart of the Captiva village. You would be near shops, restaurants, activities, and the beach! Also, given the home is located on Laika Lane you would have private beach access only accessible to those staying on Laika Lane.

Central location, Very Convenient

Property was in a great location for easy walks to restaurants and the beach. It was in close proximity of pretty much everything. Enjoyed having a covered patio in the back. It was a very relaxing place to stay. We were a little disappointed that the hot tub was gone and the pool didn’t seem as warm that it should of been but we didn’t end up using the pool very much and I didn’t communicate anything about it to the property manager to see if it could be changed. Over all it was a great place to stay. It had plenty of room for us and had easy acces for us to get to all the places we wanted go.

I Liked Laika

The house is beautiful, but it definitely needs some love. Seems more like a work horse rental, instead of a high end expensive rental.

Gas grill was clean and worked well. Pool was clean and a nice change from the beach. Great location near village, restaurants, and island store. Rental company was very hard to work with. Hard to reach by phone, no refunds even if they cancelled due to property being under construction, had to follow up by email and messages to get security deposit and credit owed to us. Will not rent through them again, even though we really liked this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Lika Laika house is, in my opinion, on the best little street in the main area of Captiva. It is quiet and is a short walk to the beach. Lika Laika is at the end of the road which makes for easy access to all restaurants but maintains the quiet of the private road. The house is comfortable and has lots of room for spreading out and relaxing. We had a problem with the HVAC the first night and they came out and fixed it within 90 minutes. The only suggestion I would have for management is to replace the master bedroom mattress. It's like sleeping on a wooden board. Also, there is an issue with those tiny ants. We purchased bug killer and used it in the master bathroom almost everyday. Otherwise, the house, the pool, the landscaping and the interior decor are great. Would rent again.

It's the perfect location between the beach (a bit of a walk but doable!) and the Captiva Island grocery store and restaurants. With main floor twin beds and a hallway bath that includes a shower it's perfect for those who don't want to do a lot of stairs. Am Realty staff was attentive to requests and it was a very enjoyable trip!

Disappointing

My husband, kids, and I have vacationed in Captiva for the past 10 years. It is our favorite place to travel. This property was very disappointing. We’ve always loved Laika Lane, so I was thrilled to find this property. We were woken up every day at 7:30 by commercial construction going on directly across the street. This was never disclosed to us, and in fact this property was described as being on a quiet street. That was exactly why I chose this rental for our vacation. The noise could be heard throughout the house. We could not sit outside to enjoy the pool and lanai until the construction stopped in the evening. Our master bathroom had a major bug problem. There were consistently large, flying ants in the space even after management tried to address the issue. The screened in pool area had a large hole in the screen, allowing bugs to get in the lanai. The house is pretty, so it’s too bad we had all these other issues. We’ll be back to Captiva next summer but definitely not in this house.

In fact, I’ve already secured a rental for 5 weeks in 2022 through Royal Shell. The treatment I received from the management (not the rental agent) was rude and unprofessional.

Great House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great Stay at the house. It was a beautiful, large space for a family of 6. We loved that there were beach accessories available as well as beach towels, etc. Kitchen was well stocked and we were able to make Breakfast, Lunch and 3 dinners because of it. Eating out on the island and service levels proved to be very irritating, so if we were to come back, I am sure we would cook more dinners at home. While the property was lovely, it did appear to need a little bit of maintenance. Namely, there was a strong musty, moldy smell - stronger upstairs. The sprinkler system was shooting forcefully each morning and getting the car port all wet and anything in it (bikes and trailer) The master bath shower did not drain well, the vanity on one side couldn't be opened without it coming off the wall, the outdoor shower doesn't have a drain - so the water just runs onto the lanai and gets the rug and deck wet, the closet rack in the master was broken, the dryer would not dry clothes (my husband finally took it apart to the best of his ability and found it jam packed with lint, allowing no air flow.All and all, relatively minor issues (thankfully my sister had rented a house down the road in which we could dry our clothes) just a little inconvenient. The musty mold smell might have cause a problem for someone with allergies - but we don't have any.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at Lika Laika for a week. It’s a lovely home that was spacious and clean. We have stayed in many rentals in the Sanibel/Captiva area and found this one to have most of what we needed. The beach equipment was a real plus and includes chairs, umbrella and a cart. We were surprised that even though it is close to the town center, it was very quiet. The only call out is that the mattress in the master is really very very firm! We would definitely consider staying in this “happy” home! Thank You!
