Hodnett Cooper is pleased to present 1700 Bruce Drive. This newly renovated 4 bedroom, 3 bath home is conveniently located in the East Beach community within walking distance of the public beach access.

The first floor of this home features an open kitchen, dining & living space perfect for entertaining. The large dining table will accommodate up to 8 people making it perfect for family dinners! Two guest bedrooms with jack & jill bath are located off the main living area. Upstairs you'll find another guest bedroom with private bath as well as the master bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bath. French doors in the master bedroom lead to a large screened balcony overlooking a landscaped back yard & private swimming pool.

Pets may be accepted for a $150 non-refundable pet fee. |

Nice location in East Beach

Very pleasant home located close to a beach walkover and a few blocks down from the WW2 Museum. We enjoyed spending Easter weekend here.

Family beach trip

Great house, excellent location. Quiet street 2 blocks off of the beach with easy beach access. The pool in the backyard was wonderful to have. Can’t wait to stay again.

Fabulous Family Vacation

This was the perfect location for our annual family vacation! We love being on East Beach as we can easily walk, ride bikes or take a golf cart to the beach and to explore the neighborhood. The house was beautifully decorated and clean. And the pool was glorious. It has both sun and shade exposures making it the perfect place to hang out if you’re in the pool or not. We had everything we needed during our stay and look forward to going back again.

Wonderful stay on St Simon's Island

1700 Bruce Drive is a great space for a family or expended family. The pool is great and the porch overlooking it was the best feature of the house! The porch has ceiling fans and tables and chairs. It was heaven! We weren't too far from the beach. We live East Beach so the neighborhood is great. We really enjoyed our stay. It was a great property!

August Vacation Review

The house was terrific. The location and proximity to East Beach were ideal for us. The ability to walk to and from the beach was great. The pool was bigger than what we expected from the pictures and the water stayed cool throughout the day. The house was very clean when we arrived and the staff was exceptional at addressing a couple of issues that we called to discuss. A couple of very minor things we noticed were the lack of a vacuum cleaner and the poor quality of paper products (paper towels and toilet paper). Other than that, we loved our time at the house and had a fantastic vacation.

Perfect house for St. Simon's stay!

Our family of four (2 teens) enjoyed our recent stay at this property. It was our first time to St. Simon's Island and we were glad we chose East Beach. Short, easy walk to an uncrowded section of the beach in the first week of May. Fast and reliable internet allowed the kids to keep up with virtual school while my partner and I lounged at the private pool. Our quarantine pup enjoyed his first trip to the beach -- the fenced backyard and tiled floors made this a perfect dog-friendly house and running off-leash on East Beach was a blast! The house has lots of space, comfy furniture, and a decently stocked kitchen for a rental. The rental agency quickly replaced the broken coffee maker and their contactless check in/out process was a breeze. We'll come back!

Could be great with a few changes

We really liked this house, but the attention to detail seems to be lacking. The location is great, in a quiet little nook in East Beach. The trek to beach is a little difficult with small kids but would be easy for adults. The pool was perfect and refreshing. The bed in the master bedroom was super comfy and had great bedding. The kitchen is horribly equipped. All of the knives are dangerously dull. There are very few utensils and very few pots and pans. There were no pot holders and two small dish towels. The ceiling in the master bedroom is cracking. The doors in the upstairs hallway were off of the closet. You should know that the great screened in porch is only accessible from master bedroom. Also, the tables on the porch were not cleaned prior to our arrival, which was indicative of our experience unfortunately. The downstairs shower was not draining. There are no hooks for towels to be be found anywhere in the house. The propane tank for the gas grill ran out after two uses, and there was no spare tank to be found. Our after hours call to the management company about these issues has still not been returned, 30 hours later. That said, it’s a sweet little house that could be fantastic with a little more effort and a few updates. The kitchen was the biggest issue. It was very difficult to cook here without adequate tools.

Needs Maintenance

I booked this house for 2 weeks and brought my family. We enjoyed the house and the pool, but there were too many issues. First, the sheets on the downstairs bed were not clean/changed. We had to change the linens before going to sleep the first night. I found 3 dead cockroaches in the kitchen cupboards with the dishes. Seems like house-cleaning could check this before a new guest arrives. At first, the back looked pretty depressing - there was no mulch around the pool patio and weeds were everywhere. I got sick of it so I called the rental agency, and to their credit, they had someone put out pine straw the next morning. It made a huge difference. In the master bedroom, the ceiling is literally falling in. It looks wet underneath and pieces of the ceiling fell constantly on the bed and floor. The ceilings are also cracked and falling apart in 2 of the other bedrooms and 1 of the bathrooms. Overall, I just feel that I paid too much for this house for it not to be properly maintained. I would not stay here again.

St Simons Gem

This home was immaculate. Well furnished in all the bedrooms, living and dining areas. Bathrooms are updated, and modern. Pool was wonderful with nice outdoor dining furniture. The only thing that needs attention is the kitchen amenities. I give the entire place a five star but kitchen needs additional items such as additional cookware, strainer, grater, bottle and wine opener, larger cutting board, strainer, serving utensils....knives need to be replaced...very dull. If you are planing on cooking bring what you need because it has the bare minimum but the rest of the home is terrific so I still have a five star.
