Great Spring break lake getaway

Wonderful family getaway

We stayed for a family getaway for the weekend and everything was great. Even though it rained and we couldn't enjoy the outdoors there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. We appreciated the thoughtfulness around creating a kid friendly environment.

Amazing place that you’ll love!

I can’t say enough good things about this location. All of the amenities on the property, the quietness of the area, and the communication with the host! I would say this is the best VRBO I’ve stayed at. Lake shore is right off the backyard, just a 30 second walk. Plenty of things to do in the house. Cleanliness was spectacular. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

Great lake house getaway

Great lake house, away from the Dallas traffic but close enough to enjoy everything. Hanging out by the fire pit, watching awesome sunsets, is just everyone needs to decompress. Our host was the absolute best, not only being responsive, but being proactive with any and all our needs.

Great little getaway

We rented this home for some friends to stay in while in town for a wedding. The house was clean and well maintained. Host was responsive and helpful. Enjoyed the deck and view of the lake. There was even a trail mowed so they could walk down to the edge of the water. They had a great time.

Wonderful Sunset Views

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway! The king bed, sheets, and pillows were so comfortable! The owner was immediately responsive any time we had questions. Check in and check out was easy and painless. Far enough away from the city to enjoy the quiet, but close enough to find things to do. There are some great barbecue and taco food trucks nearby, as well as wineries, groceries, and local restaurants. The house is quirky in a delightful way. The decor complements the simple lake-house vibe of the place, and we definitely appreciated the pool table and firepit. Each day provided a beautiful sunset over the lake. We truly enjoyed our stay at this cute little lake house!

Not worth the fees!

Very old home with new decoration. Had ants and bugs and was told to clean after i paid a cleaning fee! But it was nice place to relax.

Guest notified us last minute but even said it was not a problem, all the while telling us they were having a great time. Moreover, in attempt to not have a high cleaning fee, we simply ask guests to place trash in outside bins & wash dishes, this helps to keep the cost you pay lower.

Good service, poor view

Generally the communication and service was excellent, as we would expect from an owner with multiple properties on VRBO. The location has the potential to be 5 star but the view of the lake is 98% obstructed by overgrowth. So it is presently a 3-star. Yes, we know the land is managed by the army Corp of engineers however that doesn’t mean that the trees can’t be lifted (trimmed) and underbrush mowed like other homes nearby. The property was very clean (5-star) however the home has significant deferred maintenance. It appears to be in the exact same condition as when it was listed on the MLS several years ago. We generally stay in vacation rentals in this price range and would put the overall value at 2-3 star. Overall experience a 3-star.

Family Vacation

Brought my family on a get away trip and I will definitely be booking here again soon! We had an awesome time Fishing, Kayaking, Playing Pool/family games & making so many memories! If you want have a good relaxed unforgettable vacation and love the lake I definitely recommend booking with them they have everything you need and their service is amazing. Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

My wife found Deepwater Retreat in 2015 and thought it was such a charming and adorable cabin right on the water. Plenty of room to spread out on the property and just minutes before your feet are in the water. The neighborhood is sweet. I know just about every neighbor and they know us. It's a sleepy community. Lake Lavon is a sleepy lake; not a party lake. We like it that way.

The peacefulness here is remarkable. When we don't have guests, I try to get away and just sit on the back porch and watch the sunset or get my feet in the water. Breathing in some clean air and getting away from the city is a beautiful things.

With that said, one of the things I love about this place is how close it is to everything you may "need". Jeff's BBQ, Pizza Getti, Burgers and Chile Loco, Milos Taco Food Truck, and Meteor Hamburgers are all great choices for food nearby. Additionally, there's a Wal-Mart, Kroger and Tom Thumb not to far as well. Uber Eats and Instacart also deliver if needed. Everything is close but not too close, as a previous guest explained.
