The MOST dog friendly house we’ve had on the island in 25years. Owners have thoughtfully designed the outdoor play yard with double gates for easy rinse off, gated porch for safe lounging, to the dog bowls & beds inside. Beyond impressive and super clean. Perfect Vacation Home

We had a wonderful time on our Spring Break. The house was clean and very well stocked. The location was perfect, a very short walk to the beach. We also enjoyed the pool, fire pit and the swing under the deck. We will be a repeat customer!

Going to be our annual vacation !

We had tons of fun and made unforgettable memories with my husband and our fur babies. The location was perfect ! We rented a golf car for a week and drove around. Beach was super close and house was clean ! They have more than everything we needed ! Definitely coming back :) Susan and Kenny are so quick to reply our message and we felt we were so welcomed.

Relaxing Retreat!

We had a wonderful time at the Barefoot Retreat! The home was very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the proximity to the beach, the pool, dog area, fire pit and lovely porch. We paid for the pool heat and it was perfect even with evening temps in the 60s. Kenny and Susan were responsive and helpful in every way. It was a wonderful week of relaxation with our kids and dogs!

Perfect Family Thanksgiving Getaway!

We loved our getaway for Thanksgiving with our little family...and our fur babies! ❀ Everything was just perfect, and we felt right at home! It was clean, and the amenities made it feel like home, and more! The location was wonderful. We felt secluded, yet close to everything, and could take a quick walk or bike ride to the beach! Just the outside area alone was a hit for our kiddos! They loved the play area and fire pit area. We cannot wait to visit again! 😍

Our new favorite, book today!!

This home was absolutely perfect for our stay. We searched and searched for a place that was adult, teen, toddler, dog and wallet friendly. This house is in a great location only a block away front the nearest public access. Great location. We cooked the majority of the time while we were there and the kitchen was fully stocked. This house is basically brand new. No struggling a/c like some of the houses we stayed at in the past on the island. Fish cleaning station, playground, outdoor shower, hammocks and swing over a clean sandbox... just book it already! Also: Shout out to Matt at “Matt’s Small Engine Repair” for the last minute golf cart rental đŸ‘ŒđŸŒ

The house was super warm and inviting. I especially loved the gate system - it is perfect for kids and pets. The house sits behind some bushes and trees and that really helps you to feel isolated, while still being so close to the center of town.

I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a family and pet friendly place to stay! The host has 100 percent thought of everything you may need for your stay. They thought of everything!

For a family of 5, my husband and I, our son and his wife, and our almost 4 year old grandson ( along with our two fur babies) this vacation couldn’t have been much better! The owners definitely created this space with family in mind, all members! It was our first time not staying on the beach. I was sort of down about it. The ocean can be seen from the back deck. YES. The trip to the beach was less than two minutes by golf cart. The dogs could freely come and go from porch to fenced in play yard. They enjoyed both. The landscape was very pleasing to the eye. The pool was crystal clear and the sandbox was right up my grandsons alley! He spent a lot of time there. We all enjoyed the pool. My husband and son enjoyed corn hole. We all decided that the amenities alone made up for not being beach front. The house was so nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was beyond our expectations! We visit once a year and would certainly revisit this beautiful and fun filled home! Thank you to the owners for sharing your HOME with us. That’s what it felt like, a home.

We’re going to stay here again

5 stars Susan’s house is wonderful. Super clean and comfortable. More than enough kitchen and household supplies. The house is also well set up for youngsters and pets if needed. We didn’t use the pool but it is larger than most others we saw. Short walk to beach in quiet area of the island. We’ll definitely book here again.

This is a great, well-appointed house. They’ve thought of everything and considered the needs of everyone who might be a guest. We originally intended to bring our dog, but decided against it. Rest assured, the house is cleaned and maintained in such a way that you would never know dogs have been guests. The pool is large, and the house is mere steps from the very nice, uncrowded beach. Highly recommended!

We came to SGI for a family vacation in June of 2017. We were looking for a pet friendly beach so we could bring Annie and Oakley our Brittany spaniels. Funny story it was our 35th wedding anniversary and my husband forgot. So i teased him all week about giving me a beach house. It was one of the best family vacations I can remember. We all fell in love with the island and fortunately we were able to purchase a lot and build the beach house we have always dreamed of. We were scheduled to close the day Michael hit. Some very nervous hours but we were blessed and had no damage. Well built house! Thank you David Duncan! We have already made wonderful memories here and look forward to many years of enjoying our house with family and friend. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

We are located 2nd tier but have a very nice beach view, a short walk to the beach and a two block walk to the bay where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. The bike path is at our driveway and leads into town. Walk or ride a bike to nearby restaurants or visit lighthouse park. Bring your dog and let them enjoy a day on the beach with you. Well behaved dogs are welcome at most restaurants and bars on SGI and in nearby Apalachicola.
