This house offers 3500 SQ house with 1 king bed, 1 queen, 4 twins and 2 bathrooms with plenty of room to spare so you are not piled up on one another. Spacious kitchen with all the amenities. WIFI internet and Smart TVs. (no local channels) Pool table with conversion to table tennis and poker table when nights get laid back. This property is 2 1/2 blocks from snowmobile/ORV trail #2 and trail head, mini mart with gas station and 2 bars/food. (2 Fat Guys and Dutch's). Minutes away from 3 popular downhill resorts. Visit Lake Superior for fishing and do some hiking at some of our lovely mountain ranges, the UP has endless possibilities

UPON LEAVING.Trash is collected and put in outside container IN TRASH BAGS, dishes are cleaned, strip all beds used and key is returned to box.
No hunting what so ever and no deer processing on the premises. No cleaning fish on property. Do NOT ride in yard, stay on drive and road until trail.

Good for snowmobiling

We stayed there in Feb 2025 for a snowmobile trip. The location is a couple of blocks from the trail which was convenient. There is a bar and gas (limited hours) in town. The house was nice, large couch for TV watching, 4 bedrooms, was very spacious for 4 people. The owner communicated well and was helpful. I would stay there again.

Really nice place.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house is really nice, roomy and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and utensils you’d ever need. Nice appliances and furniture. It’s located in a nice quiet town on a quiet dead end street. We really enjoyed the pool table!

Snowmobile Get Away

Took a trip up snowmobiling and was a good place to stay for a few couples and enjoy a snowmobiling weekend. Only a few blocks from trail and gas station. House was roomy with great kitchen/dining area as well as bar area downstairs which was great for just hanging out after day on the trail. Driveway is a pretty good slope but we still managed to park 3 trucks w/ trailers and had ample room to get in and out w/ sleds easy enough.

Quiet U.P. House

Very clean and lots of room for the four of us to spread out. House has a deck, front porch and basketball hoop that were pleasant surprises for us. We used the location as a home base for waterfall hikes, kayaking, swimming at nearby lakes and even a day trip to Bayfield & Madeline Island. Enjoyed the games downstairs too! Overall this place worked great for us and offered us a much needed get away. A couple small things that would have improved our stay - some darker curtains in the bedrooms would help to block out early morning sun and the king bed was not very comfy (two older twin mattresses pushed together). We didn't use the basement bedroom, but the twin beds in the other rooms were good.

Big and Bad

The Good and the bad: It's big, the appliances all work. It was very clean. The bad: Who reads the details about a place that rents out for $200 a night? No hair dryer. Tricia's response, "I don't use one". The bed and pillows: unbelievably uncomfortable. A 2 inch foam pad on an old set of twin mattresses on a bed that creaked like an old house and pillows that were hard foam and way too thick. The shower: Your back against the wall opposite the shower head that is way too tall so only your head and face get wet. It was awful. It was Cold! In July! The thermostat was LOCKED on cool. It was 62 degrees in the house. You cannot open the patio doors and the other doors don't have screen doors. No place to eat outside because there is no table. The furniture is ripped and worn through. The couch and chair was purchased with the house as one can clearly see by the pictures showing the house when it was listed. There is a ridiculous security deposit or buy insurance. There is nothing valuable enough in the place to warrant either. Security cameras in Marenisco? Really? There hasn't been a theft, robbery, B & E in over 6 years in the area and then there was one theft. Instructions to strip the beds and place all of the garbage outdoors; Are you telling me that your cleaning help don't come the day of departure? Finally, a tip jar. I don't understand the 5 star ratings or the price. I do not recommend this house. One must always end on a positive note: there are 2 bars within stumbling distance. We didn't go in.

It took me a few days to wrap my head around this one, so here it goes... I am sorry you were unsatisfied with your stay at our home and Marenisco. We are working hard to make it a home away from home. I would suggest anyone that rents a VRBO, Airbnb or hotel room, to read the contract. It is there for a reason, regardless of the nightly rate. The renter arrives knowing what to expect. All of the beds are covered with new mattress covers and the two twins are not old, they just do not match. It is not unusual to put two XL twins to make a king (the reason for the expensive 3" mattress topper). There have been no complaints about the shower. I will review the showerhead height. Deck door cannot be opened as the lock mechanism is malfunctions. We are trying to find someone to repair but the company is out of business and no one in the area knows how to fix it. If you open it, you cannot lock it. It is a safety precaution at this time to not open the door. The security deposit or insurance is standard with VRBO. Security cameras are there for protection of our property. Yes they have come in handy on numerous occasions. We have stayed in many VRBO's. All have requested to take out the trash, do the dishes and most have requested to strip the beds. If the beds are stripped, there is no chance a bed is missed to be changed out. Especially in a house this large. Finally, Marenisco is a great small town with great people. Yes there are bars (they make take an issue with the stumbling comment, as they consider themselves more like "Cheers") We are a ATV and snowmobile town and at a trailhead as well. (As mentioned in the VRBO title) I am truly sorry it didn't live up to your expectations, fortunately it does for the other reviewers of a great house and town that gets better and better. Simple communication can be done to correct situations that may arise. The world is a getting be so negative and non communitive. So lets all just be KIND and make the best of what we have to offer and try to help our fellow neighbors and enjoy life. Sincerely Trisha bowman

Spacious yet comfy

We had a great, relaxing time. The home is very spacious yet it wasn’t hard to spend time together. The kitchen is wonderful for making meals in, as desired. The location was perfect for us - day trips all over the UP for various outdoor adventures and then relaxing at the rental in the evenings. There are also multiple hikes locally. The host had great communication and worked with us to make sure we had a great experience. We would rent again!!

Sled trip 2020

The house was awesome very clean and comfortable, the location was perfect close to the trail and close to the couple of bars and gas in town. The house has is a large home with plenty of room for everyone definitely would stay here again !!!
