Le Logis des Abbesses - Eine Hängegarten auf der Loire.

Le Logis des Abbesses (fünfzehnten / sechzehnten Jahrhundert) wurde im Frühjahr 2015 renoviert. Es ist völlig unabhängig und hat einen großen gepflasterten Hof, ein großer Garten (400 m2), beide eingezäunt. Es ist eingeteilt "eingerichtete Unterkünfte 4 *." Das Erdgeschoss besteht aus einem großen Wohnraum im ehemaligen Wohnzimmer des Hauses und eine voll ausgestattete Küche geht auf den Innenhof im Osten; eine Toilette. Auf der ersten Etage, eine Bibliothek Öffnung in der West (Bett 90 x 190) ermöglicht den Zugang zu dem Raum Abbesses im alten oberen Raum des Hauses (Doppelbett 160 x 200) befindet, um die Kammer des Loire (2 Betten 80 x 200 für ein Doppelbett oder zwei Einzelbetten) und ein Badezimmer (Dusche, WC und Waschbecken). Auf der zweiten Etage, eine Landung gibt Zugang zum Garten Schlafzimmer Öffnung nach Osten (2 Betten 80 x 200 Doppelbett oder zwei Einzelbetten) und ein Bad Öffnung zum Loire (Badewanne, Toilette, Waschbecken ) und eine kichnette (Kühlschrank) und Waschküche (Waschmaschine). Zugang zum Garten.
Kostenlose Parkplätze stehen den Mietern (2 Plätze) auf dem Nachbargrundstück zur Verfügung, um den gepflasterten Hof zu nutzen und Mahlzeiten zu sich zu nehmen (Grill vorhanden).

STRICT RULES Sommerzeit: Reservierungen werden nur von Samstag bis Samstag akzeptiert. Andernfalls muss der Reisende die Buchung stornieren.

Amazing house and how close it is to the town centre. All you need is there. Great patisserie, mini market, every Saturday vegetable market, drink places etc and all the chateaus within 30 min drive.

Fantastic property in the perfect location

We had a wonderful week at Le Logis des Abbesses. The house is full of character, yet has all the modern facilities you could need. We had a very warm welcome from Luc and he was available to respond to any questions we had. The house is set back 100m from the centre of the village meaning you get the convenience of shops and bars without any noise or disturbance. The village itself is beautiful, as are the surrounding towns and villages. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

wonderful stay in this beautiful home

Luc's home was better than we could have expected. The care and attention to detail that went into it is obvious, and it was truly a pleasure to be able to stay there. We were able to take advantage of every level of the home, from the beautiful, sunny garden upstairs, to the spacious dining areas inside and out. Luc was accommodating and welcoming and the home was ideally located in the town of Montsoreau. We were able to visit the château, see the mushroom caves, visit neighboring towns and enjoy a number of excellent restaurants, all by foot. Cannot say enough wonderful things. Merci beaucoup, Luc!

The quality, location and service of the property were perhaps the best we have known. The owner is very responsive to messages and had an electrician at the house within 2 hours of our announcing an electricity problem (and later sent a bottle of Loire wine as apology for the inconvenience). Nathalie, who managed our stay, was cheerful, attentive and quickly available for any question. An historic building constructed against a limestone cliff, the house was restored in 2015 with full architectural finesse and decorated tastefully with attention to functionality. It is a roomy place for six people with three dining areas (two outdoor, one indoor). The walled-in yard on the ground floor leads into the kitchen/guest toilet/dining/living areas from where a stairway leads to the first floor. Here there is a “suite”: the door opens onto a small corridor with day bed to the left, two bedrooms on the right and a shared bathroom with shower at the end. The stair continues up to the 2nd floor where, to the right, the third bedroom and bath lie and, to the left the garden awaits. Yes, the garden is at the top of the cliff, on the 2nd floor. The house is meticulously maintained: no musty or mildew odors, no pests. It is a very quiet and private place, located on a little used residential road with an enormous garden area which leads to an orchard (and the parking area – it’s uphill), with partial views of the Loire and wonderful views of sunsets over the vineyards.

Perfect Stay

We had a great visit in Montsoreau. The house was even nicer than the pictures and the location couldn't be better. Luc was a gracious host who met us on arrival with a bottle of cremant and preserves and he toured us around the house. He also responded quickly to a few minor questions we had about the house. The house is located very close to the main square where the market is located on Sundays. There is also a small grocery store, butcher and bakery just steps from the house. The three bedrooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Perhaps our favorite place in the house was the terrace outside the kitchen which provided a perfect spot to have coffee and fresh bread as well as evening aperatifs. The week in Montsoreau at Logos Des Abbesses will go down as one of our favorite vacations.

A lovely house in a lovely village

Le Logis is a gem..a wonderful base for a Loire holiday. The house is on 3 floors. At the top there is a double/twin room with en-suite, and on the middle floor are 2 rooms; a double and a double/twin with a shared shower/WC. On the middle floor there is also a lovely landing. On the bottom floor is the large sitting/dining room, another loo and a small kitchen. The kitchen leads out onto a lovely cobbled courtyard with a table and chairs which is where we had all our meals. The courtyard has a lockable gate about 7ft high. It is a lovely private spot. We could safely leave the bikes there, although there is also an extensive grotto off the courtyard where bikes can be stored. It is a very short walk down the hill to the shops and the Sunday market. Also on the upper level is a large garden for sole use of guests. Beyond that is an orchard also with a locked gate where we left the car. The house is lovely, in that shabby-chic way. The twin beds were slightly small and very firm, and the top floor room gets very hot by evening (we had several days with temperatures >30'C). Montsoreau is a lovely village with cream coloured houses and lots of interesting nooks and crannies. There is boucherie, fabulous boulangerie, a few cafes and decent restaurants, and a small supermarket. There is a quayside the river and lots of easy walking & cycling. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonderful old house full of character with views of the Loire

This house has an excellent location in Montsoreau and has very nice views of the Loire river from the upper floors. It's perfect for exploring the area West of Tours around Saumur and is easily accessible to Angers as well as chateaus such as Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau. We didn't have our bicycles and wish we had but the local walking through vineyards is still phenomenal. The bottom floor doesn't have any view but has an excellent and very usable kitchen that is well kitted out as well as a comfortable sitting area. We made some nice meals there. We chose to sleep on the 2nd floor over the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable. All the bathrooms very clean with good hot water and we enjoyed the bath. The separate courtyard and upper garden entrances were very nice to have and we had lunch in the garden one day looking over the river. Parking is private, behind an automatic gate but access can be a bit tricky via a very tight lane. We were greeted by a charming young lady named Laure, who was very helpful and gave a good recommendation for wine tasting in Parnay. There was an issue with the oven not having been cleaned but she addressed it very quickly. Our recommendations: the Sunday market in Montsoreau has a good fish stall. The boulangerie in Varennes-sur-Loire. Wine tasting at Château de Parnay's caveau de dégustation. The Apocalypse Tapestry in Angers. Abbaye Fontevraud. Walking/cycling among the local vineyards. Azay-le-Rideau. Villandry.

Beautifully-designed /decorated house in an incredibly charming Loire Valley village

We absolutely loved this house. It is an old house but one that has been updated and renovated to a very high standard, with great attention to detail in the interior design. Luc, our host, has obviously devoted much time and thought to the architectural features, its layout and the furnishings and decor. As explained in the other reviews, it has an interesting floor plan. The ground floor has the kitchen and living area, with a half-bath - and opens onto a cobblestone courtyard with a gated entry onto the street; the 1st floor (2nd floor for us Americans) has two bedrooms and a bathroom, while the top floor has one bedroom with its own bath - and a small area with a washing machine area and mini-fridge. Because the house is built into a hillside though, the top floor also opens onto a rooftop lawn/garden with views of the Loire and the town. The parking area also is up at this level, so we had to adjust to leaving for longer excursions from the top of the house, while we would leave for walks around town from the ground level. Hard to explain actually, but fun to get used to, and the different levels meant each of our family had room to spread out; everyone had their own little places to read and nap. The kitchen is well-equipped - with dishwasher and pots and pans. The wifi worked great - and there is a TV although we did not use it. The dining table fit all of us very comfortably, and there were also tables for sitting outside in the courtyard and up on the roof garden. The only issue we faced during our stay was one very hot day, when the top floor bedroom was very warm and not that comfortable for sleeping at night (this was also the night a bat got into the house on the top floor - but he got out again!) The other bedrooms, insulated because of being located lower down in the house, were cool. As for the location, Monstoreau is lively, despite its small size, and very pretty with many interesting views for walks. There is a small supermarket, a terrific bakery and two butchers - so we did not have trouble getting food supplies. There are several restaurants as well, and a pizza truck sets up on the edge of town on certain days during the summer. The town is near Fontevraud Abbey, Chinon, and Saumur. We walked to Candes-Saint-Martin - which itself is very charming, and went for lunch one day to Turquant. We drove to Chenonceau, which took about 1 hour. The other typical Loire sites are longer drives. We could have stayed here forever!

Wir haben im Logis des Abbesses im Sommer 2022 wunderschöne Ferien verbracht und empfehlen es bestens. Wenn Sie ankommen, vergessen Sie den Reisestress. Monsieur Luc empfängt Sie kompetent, führt Sie zum sicheren Parkplatz im oberen Garten und macht Sie wohl-tuend mit dem neuen Heim vertraut. Geniessen Sie die noble, mit hoher Dienstleistung verbundene Gastlichkeit im Refugium der Aebtissinnen von Fontrevaud. Die vielseitig und praktisch eingerichtete Küche diente uns für lukullische Vergnügen. Im Salon oder im Hof konnten wir so festlich tafeln, dass wir die einheimischen Restaurants nur selten beanspruchten. Alles ist rasch zu Fuss erreichbar: beim Metzger, Bäcker, im Lebensmittelladen lässt sich bequem einkaufen und dank den Bars an der Wegkreuzung vor dem breiten Fluss und mit dem sonntäglichen Markt ist für Extras ohne überbordende Lärmkulisse gesorgt. Die Einrichtung ist zweckmässig und wohnlich. Die Zimmer gewähren bequemen Rückzug, die sanitarischen Einrichtungen funktionieren und die Treppen in die oberen Etagen sind auch für ältere Semester sicher zu bewältigen. Das oberste Zimmer verfügt über eigenes Bad mit WC und erst noch einen kleinen Schrank für kühlende Getränke, damit man sich nachts nicht durchs ganze Haus bis zur Küche vortasten muss. Mit viel Kunstgeschmack eingerichtetes Haus in schöner Lage

Das Haus übertraf noch alle unsere Erwartungen. Schöne Terrasse mit Blick auf die Loire. Jedes Stück Mobiliar im Haus scheint individuell ausgewählt-so entsteht eine einzigartige Atmosphäre. Montseroau ist ein völlig unaufgeregtes französisches Dorf. Man taucht sofort ein in die französische Lebensweise. Bäcker, Metzger, Bar Tabac, kleiner Supermarkt, Café, alles ist fussläufig erreichbar. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

Wunderschöner Ort mit tollem Ambiente

Wir verbrachten eine Woche im Juli 2016 in diesem geschichtsträchtigen Haus. Wie der Name schon sagt, gehörte dieses im 16. Jh. einer Äbtissin von Fontevraud. Da wir sehr geschichtsinteressiert sind, war es für uns deshalb auch ein besonderer Aufenthalt – hier atmet man die Zeit. Der sehr nette Besitzer hat uns herzlich empfangen. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem Modernen ausgestattet, was es braucht. Den grossen Garten, den man ganz für sich allein hat, erreicht man über das dritte Geschoss des Hauses, das an einem Hang liegt. Die Lage oberhalb der Loire und des Dorfes bietet einen tollen Blick – besonders bei Sonnenuntergang. Gute Restaurants und ein kleiner Dorfladen sind zu Fuss zu erreichen. Montsoreau ist zudem ein wunderschöner Ort für Spaziergänge. Wir kommen wieder!

Maison magnifique, au coeur du village de Montsoreau. Equipement complet et décoration soignée. La maison, sur trois niveaux, présente des volumes généreux et dispose d'une cour et d'une terrasse donnant vue sur la Loire. Cette maison ancienne est une halte parfaite pour un séjour au croisement de l'Anjou et de la Touraine
