Whether you love the outdoors or prefer cute cafes, you’ll have it all within a 15 to 20 minute drive. In the warmer months, enjoy breathtaking hiking and swimming holes in nearby Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. In the colder months, the same parks feature great snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The best rock climbing on the east coast is found in the nearby Shawangunk Mountain Ridge (“the Gunks”). You can pick your own fruits and veggies (apples, berries, pumpkins, peaches, plums, corn, peppers, squash, and many others) at numerous nearby farms. You’re right in the middle of the Shawangunk Wine Trail, a cluster of 15 wineries nestled between the Gunks and the Hudson River, and can go skydiving in nearby Gardiner. Enjoy great shopping and charming cafes in New Paltz and Beacon, and fine dining with mountain and river views on the Newburgh waterfront. You're 10 minutes from beautiful Chadwick Lake Park, with 5+ miles of hiking and biking trails around the lake, roller skating/ice skating, boating, bass and trout fishing (with NY license), and an excellent, well-maintained playground. A short drive to SUNY New Paltz and the walkway over the Hudson. Twenty-five minutes to Storm King (a 500-acre outdoor sculpture museum), 25 minutes to the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, 30 minutes to Vassar College, West Point, and the Culinary Institute of America, and 45 minutes to Thunder Ridge ski resort.
...And just walk down the private road to a delicious roadside ice cream stand!
