Das Switchback House wurde Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts erbaut und vor kurzem komplett renoviert. Für Familien ist dies das perfekte Zuhause, um Erinnerungen zu teilen. Unser Haus befindet sich in einer ruhigen Gegend am West Broadway und dennoch in fußläufiger Entfernung zum historischen Viertel. Das Haus befindet sich sogar an einem Zugangspunkt zum berühmten Switchback Trail - ideal zum Wandern und Radfahren! Jim Thorpe bietet auch Wildwasser-Rafting oder Winteraktivitäten im Blue Mountain an. Bitte zögern Sie nicht, uns Fragen über die Region zu stellen!

Very nice, spacious home. 6 adults stayed there for a rafting weekend. Very good water pressure and hot water. New carpets had some off-gassing July 2025. Very close to a pleasant walking trail, and only a 20 minute walk into town.

Fabulous Find!

The Switchback house was very clean and comfortable. It was the perfect size for our group of 6. We walked into town to shop and eat. It was conveniently located to our favorite winery. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Jim Thorpe.

Just lovely!

Visiting Jim Thorpe is a great experience all in itself. Staying in this lovely cozy home is just icing on the cake! It’s in a great location and it’s got everything needed to accommodate your needs for your extended stay! This is the third time staying in this home and will always be my first choice when traveling back to the area!

Sibling Trip - Again!

This was not our first trip to Jim Thorpe staying at The Switchback House. We absolutely love everything about it. From its cleanliness, to the charming decor highlighting Jim Thorpe/Mauch Chunk's past, to the location - we can walk to everything we need. The private off-street parking is the icing on the cake! We're bound to return ... Again!

Girls weekend

First time visiting Jim Thorpe and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Felt like home the minute we walked in! It deserves a five star rating because of the care you can see in the house. Clean, organized and quality products. Bathroom had plenty of new towels and extras like shampoo, lotion etc. Extra pillow and blankets. We didn't cook but the cupboards are filled with everything needed. They even had phone chargers for use! I will definitely be renting here again for our next visit.

Nice place in Jim Thorpe

This was a surprise bday trip for my husband. I wanted something near the downtown area of Jim Thorpe because I knew parking could be terrible there. This house was great. I'm so glad I chose to pick a place in walking distance because otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to find parking (it has gotten way busier than the last time I was there). We used the trail at the back of the house to walk to the Mt Pisgah trail. It was very convenient. We also hiked some other trails in the area. It is about a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. The walk back from dinner can be tiring especially after hiking all day. The house was great overall. Nice and clean. Bed was comfortable though I did switch out our pillows for the ones in the closet. We did have trouble with the side door lock but that was probably user error and we didn't ask the host to try and figure it out. I would stay here again if we came back to the area. Oh if you don't want to walk to restaurants, I highly suggest the Union Publick House. It was our favorite place to eat in Jim Thorpe and it's just a short drive.

House was great for 4 friends taking a weekend trip to Jim Thorpe. It had everything you’ll need for a stay and was clean and accurately advertised. The walk downtown was easy and convenient and the local grocery store was a close drive. The hosts have a wall of brochures for local business and activities and a very thorough and informative notebook for the house and local activities. The host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to messages. We found some amazing restaurants and fun shops downtown. The train ride was amazing - first class is the way to go even though I expect the open air car is fun as well. Bonus activity was the local escape room. It’s run by a local family and was super fun.

A beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and comfortable location from which to access the many attractions in Jim Thorpe. Off-street parking is a plus. One bathroom might be a challenge for larger groups, but for us (3) was not a problem.

Beautiful property

My friends and I booked this place last minute when our other house canceled on us 2 days before. We stayed here over new years and had a blast. Owner was very accommodating and communicated well. The place was super clean and in a great location within walking distance to the town. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Great spot to enjoy the town!

We spent a cold weekend in Jim Thorpe after Thanksgiving to relax, shop, and bike, and Jill's home was the perfect cozy spot for our family (3 adults, 2 kids). The main shopping and dining area of the town is a few blocks' walk down the hill. Bedrooms were comfortable and private, the kids (age 5 & 7) enjoyed the attic TV room, and the kitchen had all that we needed to cook meals. Private parking was a big plus and we even took the kids on a short hike on the Switchback Trail right outside of the back yard. This would be a great spot in all seasons. We'd love to come back again!
