My husband Randy Massey & myself were born & raised in
Burlington, N. C. He went to Western High School & I went to Williams High School in Burlington. He graduated IN 1972 & I met him in after I graduated in 1973 while i was attending a Ceramics class at his mothers shop. Randy’s father, Daniel Massey, was in the concrete business & Randy worked in the business. I worked full time & attended Alamance Community College majoring in business. Randy & I were married in May of 1975 & we both eventually worked for Alamance Ready Mix Concrete in the family business. Mr. Massey had been a builder in his past & along with my husband Randy & his brothers, No Coconuts Cabana was built for Randy’s Mom, Peggy Tingen Massey & the family in 1992. Daniel built many EI houses. Our family always loved going to the beach house to go fishing & hanging out at the beach with our children & the grandparents. It was a weekend destination! The porch was always the spot for coffee & conversation it seemed!
After Randy’s father & mother passed away, we decided to give the house a face lift in 2016, which was needed! We begin the major transformation by adding a pool, closing in an open deck upstairs, which is now a dining room and adding the bunk room downstairs along with a bath. Along with engineers, & our builders, Jim Bo Register, John, Harvey & myself, No Coconuts Cabana became a reality. I spent a total
of 2 years working there with the construction crew & pool installers, Jim Register and Danny Taylor. I have a memory picture book in the home for all to enjoy looking back at what our house was like before it was remodeled. We want everyone that has the opportunity to stay there to enjoy & appreciate all the love & work that went into making No Coconuts Cabana what it is today! We also want our guest to make lots of memories and create the stories like we did over the years. Regards, Cheryl Massey
