Single occupancy with two retrievers but enough room. Well stocked crockery, cooking paraphernalia, washing, ‘rainy day’ games. Well thought out design, I imagine quite warm and cosy in winter. Missed opportunities on both sides to meet with owners, but essentially unaware of activity even though conjoined properties.

Lovely cosy apartment next to the owner's house. Lovely garden. Incredibly comfy bed. Host welcoming and friendly but never disturbed us once so complete privacy. Free to walk in their garden. Quite remote which we liked.

We booked with 24 hours notice and have to say it was immaculate. Host were friendly and welcoming. We had everything we needed and such a comfortable bed. Not slept so well for years! Definitely visiting again

Tranquility !

Samantha was a perfect host the Accommodation was so clean and well equipped she had thought of everything you possibly could need on our stay . Set in a beautiful peaceful location and look forward to visiting again in the future. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Quiet, beautiful getaway

We had a lovely stay at this charming property. Set in a delightful location with views across the hills, it was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was super soft and comfy! Thank you to Samantha and Alex for being superb hosts.

Lovely apartment in the middle of Dartmoor.

Ideal base to explore Dartmoor and the surrounding area, although the narrow roads are a bit challenging. Lovely apartment, very quiet and private.

Peaceful Retreat

Set in beautiful Devon countryside this property provides a good base to explore Dartmoor. The pretty village of Holne, which is a short five-minute walk away has a friendly community shop and interesting pubs. There are walks galore, as short or long as you want to make them.

Peaceful retreat in fabulous position.

We enjoyed a lovely 4 days at Walkers retreat where the views are to die for. The accommodation has everything you require including walking books and maps of the area which were very useful. We were left to our own devices but Samantha was always available if we needed any help. Super hosts in a super part of the world.

A very restful stay

We very much enjoyed staying at Walker's retreat. We booked it last minute and so were not expecting the level of quality we received. We even decided to stay an extra night, and Samantha and Alex were very accommodating and quick to respond. The place was peaceful and though small, did not feel as such as it was fully equipped with all you could need. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and a lovely downstairs shower was also appreciated. Lots of extra little touches that made the stay feel special. Would definitely recommend.

10 Days in Walkers Retreat

This holiday home is ideal for a quiet stay, unfortunately the weather was a little less in our 10 days. In the beautiful garden you can relax in good weather with a beautiful view. In the morning you really have to make an effort to get up because the bed is wonderful. From the cottage you can go in all directions to see and do everything. Lovely presented apartment

This property was all you could ask for in cleanliness and presentation. The host was friendly and helpful.The only downside for us was that in the details online stairs and steepness were not mentioned. The garden was beautiful but the two of us have mobility issues and we found that and the stairs to shower room difficult. So maybe update details to include a mention of this. Otherwise the place and hosts were wonderful.

Liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung, herrliche Landschaft

Wir fühlten uns in der sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Wohnung von Anfang an wohl und genossen bei jeder Mahlzeit an unserem Tisch am Fenster die herrliche Landschaft. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Wohung ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für lange Wanderungen durch das schöne Dartmoor. Bücher und Hinweise sind in vielfältiger Art und Weise in der Wohung vorhanden. Was wir persönlich als problematisch empfanden waren die sehr engen Straßen, welche das Autofahren zum "Abenteuer" machten. Die Autofahrer waren zwar fast immer sehr verständig und geduldig, aber es war dennoch recht anstrengend zu fahren. Im "Tea and shop" kam man sehr leicht mit den Menschen ins Gespräch und auch dort waren immer alle sehr hilfsbereit. Es war rundherum eine sehr schöne Woche.

A real retreat

2 weeks in Devon at Walkers Retreat and it was a real pleasure. The flat ist lovely, very cultivated and tidy. The first view in the morning out of our window was great. A beautiful landscape, cattle, a wonderful garden. We miss this view having breakfirst at home in germany again. Samantha and Alex are very kind hosts - you can get every help you need.
