Comfortable little place

Cute little pool house close to beach

This cute little pool house was in a good location, close to the beach and lots of good restaurants. The owner is a sweetheart who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. There are lots of little touches to help make a beach vacation more enjoyable like chairs, bikes, and towels. My 10 year old liked it so much she wanted to move in!

The guesthouse is super comfortable and well equipped. You have everything you need for a quite rest after a busy day (either working or wandering around the city). A lot of nature vibes also, as you hear constant birds singing and have a squirrel visit here and there :) A lot of privacy.

Just what we needed!

My husband and I were visiting LA and wanted to be in a spot that would be easy to visit beaches, our friends in Santa Monica, and good food. This location delivered on all the the above! Gabriela was helpful, explicit, and incredibly kind. Our space was cozy and had the perfect outdoor seating area for morning coffee and a book! We had a great stay at this cozy flat in Venice, located behind the host Gabriela’s home. The space was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped, there was a heating option for cooler nights, and the Wi-Fi was reliable and fast. The garden and small pool between the houses were beautiful and peaceful. Despite sharing the lot, it felt private and quiet. Gabriela was incredibly welcoming and responsive. She shared great tips on what to see and the best times to visit popular spots, and even provided a small welcome basket with fruits and water. Parking on the street was easy, and the location was ideal for exploring Venice. Note: The bedroom curtains aren’t blackout, so bring an eye mask if you’re sensitive to light. We’d happily stay again and definitely recommend it!

Pool Cottage

Gabriela's pool cottage was just perfect - a quiet little retreat behind the main house past a pool and through a lovely garden. Cozy and sweet. Bed was comfortable, lots of light, a desk in one corner, a day bed in another, nice bathroom, kitchenette small but with all the necessary items. The space was clean and airy. Eating space is outside under a lovely arbor. Gabriela was available and friendly and responsive to all our needs. We would definitely stay here again!

Gabriela is delightful

Throughout our two-week stay Gabriela was fun to talk to and immediately attentive to any problems. You couldn't ask for a better hostess or neighbor. It's a cozy arrangement with her house in the frontyard and her rental cottage in the backyard with the pool in between, but it works just fine. The neighborhood is very safe, and it's a short drive to the beach, the canals and most of the sights. And you'll like Gabriela!

Clean and quiet

My wife and I stayed here four nights, visiting family in the area. It is cozy and clean and fit our needs perfectly. A few things to note (as of Jan 2023): - The bed may be a double rather than a queen. It felt a little small for the two of us. But it was comfy and we slept well. - The kitchen has no microwave or dishwasher because it is so small, but has everything else you are likely to need. - The single bed that's in the living area is okay for a short sit-down, but not for an extended period of time. I wouldn't want to sit there very long watching TV, for example. For us, none of these things made it any less enjoyable to stay.

Piece of Heaven

Every year I come to CA to visit my best friend, who lives in WEHO, and I usually stay at a hotel. This is the first time I've stayed in a rental like this and I'm sold!! Yes, the cost is slightly more than your average hotel stay, but it's SO worth it. In a hotel all you have is your room and maybe a lounge to hang out in, but that's about it. This was a fully stocked apartment with everything you need, literally! And to top it off you also have a nice little private patio in a beautiful garden with a pool to enjoy. Gabriella is a breath of fresh air and she has great energy. She made us feel so welcome and the place was so cozy, we felt like we were home. Such a nice quiet neighborhood with all kinds of various shops to brouse through, restraunts and grocery store within walking distance. Venice Beach and the boardwalk are also pretty close and you could probably walk, but there are also bikes to use if you want, and the busses are really easy to use too - only $1.00 within the area. This was the best vacation yet and I look forward to staying at this little piece of heaven again.

Great house but lack of privacy

The guesthouse was amazing and beautiful with all the plants around it. The porch was a good place to just be outside and enjoy the beautiful California weather. The inside of the house is beautiful too! Gabriela, the property manager, does an amazing job keeping the place up to date and cozy. She provides everything to make this stay a great one. Although, I felt like she was watching us all the time and making sure we weren't breaking any of her "rules". Even though I had rented out the pool house we were very limited on what we could do. I felt we couldn't have music on and when my cousins came over to do a barbecue we felt like we couldn't talk or laugh or even drink. She has some bikes that she provides to go to Venice, but the chains are rusty and at any moment they are going to break in which you have to pay for the whole bike. Overall, there are some benefits in staying in somebody's backyard but the lack of privacy is something to be concerned. This was my first time renting someone's house and I will definitely find out more information on the next time because honestly, the lack of privacy is something to be concerned about.

Not quite as advertised

The guesthouse served its purpose and we enjoyed our time in CA. It is by no means a designer property with nothing to sit on in the living area other than the rather uncomfortable single bed that is laid directly on the floor. The closets have sheer curtains instead of doors. The owner asks that you remove your shoes for the "white carpet"(actually beige) to help with allergies when two resident cats continually try to enter the property. We three are all allergic to cats so it was very annoying to suffer as a result of cats having been in the guesthouse before our arrival. The setting is peaceful and the owner does respect your privacy however we were expecting to occupy the whole guesthouse and were surprised to hear the sliding door on the end of the guesthouse opening and closing early morning and late in the evening, there was somebody sleeping in that room. The street parking is ok and the bikes ride-able however all seats need replacing as they are very worn and cannot be tightened, meaning they move continually as you pedal. Finally, the property is much further from the beach than implied so guests simply must have a car or be prepared to suffer the bikes.

Einfach genial

Dieser Ort stellt eine zauberhafte Oase inmitten von Los Angeles dar. Wenn man im herrlichen Garten das sommerliche Wetter genießt, kann man für einen kurzen Moment vergessen, dass draußen eine impulsierende Metropole auf einen wartet,...bis man sich auf die Bikes schwingt und in ca. 15 Min. relaxt und vergnügt direkt vor der Venice-Beach-Promenade steht. Die Lage, die Zimmer, der Garten und vor allem die sehr nette Besitzerin machen dieses Zuhause zu einem unvergesslichen Pardies! An diesem wunderbaren Ort, lässt es sich inspiertiert in die Stadt eintauchen. Hier will man immer wieder hin...und das Barbecue von der Hausherrin ist nicht nur sehr gesellig sondern auch köstlich! Die Adresse ist noch schöner als die Bilder es zeigen können und ganz ehrlich von welchem Katalog konnte man dies bisher behaupten??? Sauber, Super.....schnell bald wieder!!!! Also nix wie hin!!!! Sehr schönes Poolhaus

Wir haben eine wunderbare Zeit bei Gabriela verbracht. Das kleine Poolhaus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und bietet viel Komfort, welcher den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Gabriela ist eine zuvorkommende und sehr nette Gastgeberin, die hilfsbereit und zugewandt ist ohne sich dabei aufzudrängen. Zur Begrüßung hatte Gabriela uns einen tollen Korb mit Obst und Süßigkeiten hingestellt! Danke nochmal... Besonders toll ist der Pool!!! Es war wunderbar, den Pool jederzeit nutzen zu können, um sich von der sommerlichen Hitze in L.A. abkühlen zu können. Leider hatten wir das Pech, dass während unseres Aufenthaltes am Nachbarhaus Renovierungsarbeiten durchgeführt wurden, so dass schon in den frühen Morgenstunden Baulärm zu hören war. Dies hat unseren Erholungswert doch etwas eingeschränkt. Im Austausch mit Gabriela zeigte sie sich sehr entgegenkommend und erstattete uns einen Tag unseres Aufenthaltes. Das fand ich außerordentlich nett, da sie ja schließlich nichts dafür konnte, dass dieser Lärm verursacht wurde. Insgesamt habe ich eine Klimaanlage etwas vermisst, da es im Juli/August doch sehr heiß war. Gabriela hatte jedoch das Haus mit 2 Stand- und einem Deckenventilator ausgestattet, so dass es erträglich war. Die Fahrräder haben wir nur einmal genutzt, es ist aber phantastisch diese Möglichkeit zu haben. Zudem haben wir auch immer einen kostenlosen Parkplatz vor dem Haus gefunden. Insgesamt ist das Poolhaus eine tolle Unterkunft und ich würde sie jederzeit weiterempfehlen und auch selbst wieder buchen. Danke nochmal für alles, Gabriela

Feels like home !! - Awesome stay in Venice

We returned for the second time to Gabriela`s house and it was the same wonderful experience as the first one. The Poolhouse is very very quiet (best sleep we`ve had in a long time), all is lovely decaretd and perfectly equipped. (thanks again for the lovely welcome basket (-: ...). The location makes you feel like a local; everything is close by; the bikes are absolutely amazing and a big plus !! (we used them for bike rides along the beaches, to Abbot Kinney, shopping etc...). Gabriela is absolutely amazing, wonderful and warm-hearted; always there when you need something..., she makes you feel like home..... we still miss the wonderful evenings sitting together, eating & talking ....we feel a little bit homesick right now. as mentioned we will definitely come back to your place......can`t wait to be back :-) We would highly recommend this place to all other travelers, especially to those seeking the real Venice feeling and spirit !! As said we`ve had a wonderful time !!! Thanks again Gabriela for the great time..... see ya as promised !! Stephan & Silke

Most fabulous stay in Venice - I would always return!

This remodeled pool house is just awesome! My husband and I stayed there with our nephew and loved every second: the house is super quiet, lovely decorated and perfectly equipped with everything you need. We really appreciated the kitchen, the BBQ, our own little patio, the pool and the bikes. We didn't even have car, we managed everything by bike and when necessary we used uber. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood and close enough to the beach, the famous Abbot Kinney and all of the terrific places and restaurants close by... Gabriela was very nice and always there for us when we needed something, which rarely was the case. One of the bikes had a little problem, she let it be fixed right away. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return next year!!! Thank you for everything, Gabriela!

Alles was gebraucht wird, war vorhanden. Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Sehr gut gelegen. Nähe des Strandes, zentral und doch ruhig. Gemütlich eingerichtet. Alles vorhanden in der Küche zum selber kochen. Geeinigter Pool, den wir aber nicht genutzt haben. Gastgeberin Gabriela sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Gutes Appartement für Los Angeles

Wonderful trip!

We had a really great time at this place! Gabriela ist a very obliging and heartwarming person and we felt comfortable right from the beginning. The guesthouse is clean and contains everything you need. The bikes were perfect to go to the beach and to discover Venice. We loved it! Niedliche, alles beinhaltende, Ferienunterkunft in guter Lage und mit großartiger Vermieterin

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment wie zu Hause gefühlt. Freundlich empfangen von der Vermieterin, das Poolhaus ist individuell mit allem eingerichtet was man braucht. Es ist sauber, ausreichend groß, Pool und Barbeque sind mitnutzbar, ebenso wie Waschmaschine, Trockner und Fahrräder, alles ohne Gebühr. Bei Fragen steht Gabriela, die Vermieterin, gerne und jederzeit zur Verfügung. Mit dem Fahhrrad braucht man 10 Minuten zum Venice Beach, mit dem Auto kommt man innerhalb der selben Zeit zu diversen Free- und Highways. EInkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig zu erreichen oder innerhalb weniger Minuten mit Fahrrad oder Auto. Los Angeles ist eine faszinierende, vielfältige Stadt, deren Besuch sich definitiv lohnt, zumal Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Joshua Tree Nationalpark in gut erreichbarer Entfernung liegen. Los Angeles selbst hat mit Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Venice Beach, dem Griffith Observatory, Science Center of California, L.A. Lakers, L.A. Dodgers, (Outlet) Malls, Chinese Theatre, .... unglaublich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, und auch eine Tour zu Fuß oder motorisiert quer durch L.A. lohnt sich. Also: Kommt nach L.A., und bucht das Poolhaus von Gabriela, wir werden es mit Sicherheit wieder tun!
