Ok for lodging very close to the ocean
Rating Details:
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was somewhat unhappy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

3-101 was the second unit we stayed in during our two weeks at Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet. The unit was good for one couple, and probably a couple of children. I think having two couples would have been awkward.We didn’t have much of an issue not having air conditioning. It was March and there was a nice breeze from the ocean through the unit out to the front. But, if you want to close the hall door separating the two sleeping areas, there would be little air flow to the back bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked with staples and cooking gear. We liked having the air fryer to help reduce the evening heat in the kitchen. The kitchen still got warm, even with all the windows open. Because 3-101 has a “L” shaped patio, we had some shade during the low afternoon sun. There is a nice, newish planting in the lawn by the patio that is very nice. Be aware that you do not have much of an ocean view from the patio since the unit’s backyard is a sloped lawn and the only straight-on ocean view is the two open spots in the hedge. The entire unit is feeling the effects of age and the humid climate. The online photos of the unit are not current. It is always annoying when the rental photos don’t match reality. The towels and linens seemed old and worn out. The biggest problem was outside noise. The construction in these buildings is not super solid and not build to minimize intra-unit noise – running kids and heavy-footed adults at 6am upstairs, loud neighbors in the building next to us, and you can loudly hear people flush toilets. Many times, there were walkers out at 6:30am talking loud on their cellphones when our windows were open for a cooling breeze. Mornings were the worst. But, most units were silent by 9pm and afternoons were very nice.
