Great Waikiki stay!

Location was perfect if you’re planning to stay in Waikiki and walk downtown. Beach, Restaurants and shopping were all walking distance. Kitchenette was great for quick breakfast/ meals!

Central location to all the shops, beach. I like the fact you can walk no need for a car. Building have 24 hours security. However the room needs updated furniture, dressers drawers, and more towel racks.

Nice place to stay.

The condo was very sparse, no pool or beach towels were provided. TV would not connect to the internet so we were not able to use it. Had to have the batteries changed in the door lock which took about 3 hours by the time the manager was able to get to us overall a nice place and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location, nice balcony

This is a great spot. The price can't be beat. The restaurant downstairs is very tasty and convenient. I enjoyed the balcony and the hot tub. The room was pretty nice, but did have some areas that needed a little TLC. Our main concern was that the air conditioner was very loud and did not keep up well. We were often too hot. There was no thermostat so you have to leave it on to sleep but if it runs all night you might get cold and the noise may make it difficult to relax. The hosts were very responsive and checked the AC for us, but that is just how it is.

Room was not ready for us upon arrival

The only good thing about our recent stay was Maddie and Michael who worked diligently and in a professional manner, with respect and care to get us into another unit. Vacasa phone representative was absolutely horrible and showed no level of respect or care for the predicament we were faced with.

Poor Customer Service Follow Through

I stayed almost a week with a child in this room. The microwave was broken and when I called customer service they always assured me how they would get someone to come "asap" to fix it and that never happened. It was the reason why I booked this room because it had a full kitchenette. From my experience, Vacasa has no follow through and makes empty promises to only pacify the renter. I'm very disappointed with this aspect and will not be renting if Vacasa is involved in the future. Everything else was great.

The property had all we needed/wanted, and would've been perfect if not for a leak in bathroom ceiling. The management company for this unit was not helpful, supportive and very poor communication. The building maintenance crew was very communicative, and tried to resolve it as soon a possible. I called the management company when the leak got worse and it was literally raining in our bathroom. The representative asked me what I wanted them to do about it. The property owner needs to find a new management company.

Cute place, poor customer service

We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling from the night we got there. I reported it to Vacasa via text and call, and they never passed on the information to the building maintenance, (as it continued to drip/leak). The building maintenance came two days later when a unit below me reported it, I confirmed that I did and showed them the text and call log. There were workers in and out of our unit for an entire day, and the leak kept getting worse. We checked in Thursday night and it wasn't until Sunday am that everything dried up because they relocated the person above us. At one point it was literally raining in our bathroom. I call Vacasa again because it was getting worse. I asked for return call regarding the inconvenience and stress this caused on what was our vacation. I never heard back. We checked out Tuesday am. If the bathroom had been fully functional, the unit was great for what we needed/wanted, walking distance to food/shops, and great view. The owner needs to find a new property management company, Vacasa is doing nothing for them and ruining their property.

Love this place!

This is our second time staying at the Island Colony and we love it. It isn't super posh, but you can't beat the price, the view and being only about a 10 minute walk from Waikiki Beach (or less depending on which part of the beach you go to) is awesome. Our room was nice and basically looked just like the pictures with the exception of the view... it's even better than the pictures make it look! The beds, although small, are comfy and two people can sleep on them just fine so long as you love each other... a lot! Wifi worked great, pool and hot tub were excellent, but we didn't use the tv so we can't comment on that. We had a couple of small issues, but nothing outrageous. The previous guest had lost one of the key fobs and told the front desk they had left it in the room. We searched high and low and could not find it. We contacted the property manager and they said they would have another fob for us the next morning, but it didn't happen. The front desk was kind to us, and gave us a swipe card so the four of us didn't have to go everywhere together. There was also an issue with the floor in the room not being very clean. It looked fairly clean to the eye, but when we removed our shoes, as they asked us to, our feet became incredibly black! On closer inspection we could see that their mop water must not have been clean enough and the whole floor was left kind of grimy. So we had to wear our flip flops in the room which kind of sucked, but whatever. You'll also notice in the bathroom that up around the shower head it appears that the ceiling is bubbling and the paint is flaking. It's simply a cosmetic problem, and when we stayed in a different room at the Island Colony it also had the same issue. I think it's simply a design flaw in how the bathrooms are constructed. Also, there was no towel rack in the bathroom or shower mat. Those two things would have been nice to have. All in all, it's an amazing place to stay and we would love to stay there again!

We have purchased a shower mat and towel rack. A plumber came to assess for any leaks, and guests receive their key fobs from the front desk as the keys are the property of the hotel. Perfect for what we needed

I was taking my daughter back to UH Manoa for the semester. We made several trips between Ala Moana shopping and the university and the rental. Everything was so easy to get in and out of parking, eating places were so close, and Starbucks was one block. I also relaxed on the patio in the morning and at night and the view was spectacular. Only two things on the down side was the noise from the air conditioner and taking care of trash was confusing.

Great location

The condo was very clean and comfortable - could use better kitchen utensils and lids for pans and skillets and rice maker is dead. Pool, sauna and grills near pool were all great. There is one issue that needs to be mentioned - a urine odor on balcony from neighbor. This was addressed by on site property management and they sent a crew in and cleaned it up while we were there.

Great find!!

Last minute trip and I was reluctant with what was available. Chose this spot and I was pleasantly surprised. Had everything we needed and great location. I’m sure someone could find something not fancy about it but that’s not what I look for anyway. Had the ability to cook ourselves and a full size refrigerator. Pool was nice and even the full time residents were pleasant to interact with. I travel to Hawaii 5 to 6 times a year and I will definitely look for this availability again.

Property was perfect for us. Not huge but perfect for the 3 of us (two adults and an eight year old). I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
