The reason for my rating is the street and building. Despite the location, there is no upscale feeling to this unit.
That said, the location is great, the end of Waikiki and a block from the beach. The unit was xceedingly clean, though it shows some unfortunate wear (such as small holes in the curtains and in the futon sheet). The bathroom is adequate but tiny; the bidet is a nice touch.
We did not use the kitchen but it would be great for people staying longer than we did (two days, not a vacation trip).
The unit is in a locked building on a seedy-looking street, home to three hostels, many potholes. The view is principally the fire escapes and balconies of other apartments or hotels.
I found the key fob system annoying, but likely necessary.
Would I stay here again? Probably not, but I am spoiled. I would recommend this to someone on a budget that favors 3-star motels over Ritz-Carltons.
