Everything was perfect except for the Internet was spotty. Perfect location and only tip I have is go to Sam's in Mobile before you get there!

It was fine but not exceptional

First off, I want to say the location of this house was amazing. Very close to the water. We loved the location. That being said, we did have a few issues during our stay. First thing was that the house was not super clean when we arrived. Mysterious brown smudges on the wall of the stairs, weird stains next to the toilet in one of the bathrooms upstairs, toenails on the floor next to the bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The second issue we had was the appliances were not great. The fridge seemed to be struggling to keep things cold. The dishwasher did not clean well, and we even found dishes put away (probably by previous guests) that were not at all clean. You had to completely wash your dish before using the dishwasher and then dry them when the dishwasher was finished since it didn't dry the dishes either. The air conditioning downstairs was not great either. Upstairs was noticeably cooler than downstairs. It also is worth noting that none of the windows have screens on them, which is a concern when you have small children in the house. We weren't able to leave the windows open since we had children with us. Part of the way through our visit, there was a storm and the power flickered. All fine, but even though the power came back on, the internet did not. It ended up being out for around 12 hours and even when someone from the internet company came out to repair it, the signal no longer reached upstairs, so the upstairs still had no internet connection. Not the owner's fault, but something to keep in mind. I will say the owner was very kind when I spoke to him about the internet outage. Overall, we had a great time on our trip, but a few things stuck out as a bit frustrating and annoying.

Not up to par

Being on the beach was great, but the amount of money we spent to stay here was a let down because the house smelled , the fridge and freezer reeked of fish, WiFi didn’t work, blood on my bedding from a previous guest. Smelled of animal urine/mold, carpet dirty. Dishwasher didn’t work , cups were dirty upon arrival had to do dishes before we could have a drink and clean the fridge .

Family blessing

Plenty of room for our 9 adults and a toddler. Grill was clean and ready to be used. Plenty of towels and washcloths. Shampoo . Conditioner,& body wash provided. Chairs and tables on decks were great.

May vacation

Pros: location of the home is great right on the gulf. Home was large enough to have 6 adults very comfortable. Beds were nice and multiple bathrooms. Cons: bedroom tvs were computer screens way too small, cable was limited and expected better, kitchen amenities were not what we would expect and could have been better, property could use some tlc.

On the beach

We loved our stay. The property was exactly as described. The check-in and out process was extremely easy and we received communication throughout our trip checking on us. We were nervous about renting from a company over an individual but were given but we recieved great service. We loved being so close to the beach and enjoyed the deck. We did bring our own Roku's so we had more TV options. The master bed was too hard for me but my husband liked it. I appreciate that there was a foam mattress pad available in the closet, and I used that on my side of the bed. The couches downstairs were traditional beach rental couches, not the most comfortable but fine.We didn't cook anything elaborate, so I can't speak to the items in the kitchen but it met our needs. I recommend this property.

Most relaxing vacation ever

We absolutely adored the location of this property. It is directly on the beach. We had no issues with the house or location at all. Overall, we’d book this place again and thought it was wonderful! There were plenty of towels, plenty of room in the closets to hang or put your stuff. There are no dressers, but there is shelving in the closets. They’ve got plenty of dishes, utensils, baking/cooking pans, and coffee pots for pods and pour over. If you plan to cook, bring cooking spray, aluminum foil, coffee or coffee pods, etc as they do not have those items. We only attempted to turn on one TV one time, and it wouldn’t work well enough to watch. We finally got it to connect but it was grainy and you couldn’t watch it. We didn’t care, though, because we were there to relax at/on the beach, not watch TV. There are more houses around this house than pictured (but the entire island is pretty well packed with houses). The biggest caution I have is that the lot directly between this house and the ocean is for sale. So there will eventually be a house built between this one and the beach. Our “cons” for this property are very minor; if you want water front, this is the place!

Sleepy beach get away

The house was well stocked and loved the fact it was right on the beach. The beds were very comfortable but probably time to get new bed spreads. Loved that the bathrooms had many towels and bath cloths..but bring a hairdryer. Kitchen had everything you needed with a large table for dining and playing games. The entertainment room furniture was old (but still comfortable) however the internet didn’t work the whole week we were there. The steps going up to the home definitely needs reflectors on them..plus the right hand rail was loose. We found several live roaches in the kitchen and lots of small dead bugs on the floor by the refrigerator with some even being in the refrigerator. We called about the bug situation and someone was suppose to come by to spray but they never showed up. All in all we had a good time but not sure if we would stay there again.

Little piece of Heaven on Earth

SHA is a great home with amazing views. It was everything I wanted in a vacation home. We had 7 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. We spent so much time on the large decks overlooking the Gulf. We saw dolphins daily from the deck, and even some sharks! I feel conflicted in giving this review because I selfishly want to keep it for myself, but since I can’t do that I will say that you won’t regret staying here. You will be as happy as I am!

Great property. My family and I have been to Dauphin Island several times. We all agreed this was the best one yet. House was clean, well equipped and a great location. Fishing was good as well as the daily nap. Had a great much needed time to chill.

Beach front vacation

The location to the beach is great. The house pro's are the two decks - very roomy and some coverage, the upstairs room with the bunk beds and two bedrooms is great for family with kids and of course the short walk to the beach. The cons are the couch down stairs is just not good - very dated and uncomfortable, the dishwasher did not seem to clean the dishes very well (had to rewash), the bathroom downstairs has a very small shower and the water can not be adjusted for anyone under 6 feet, and the microwave was so so. We did have a good vacation but I think that some issues should be addressed.

Idyllic Vacation

Absolutely wonderful vacation! The location was perfect and a beautiful place to be with family! The island businesses and people were a pleasure to interact with! We had a couple of issues which we addressed with Vacasa, and I hope that they will ensure that future visitors will benefit.

Sweet home alabama

The house was just as the pictures showed. Amazing views, a family would love it there. It was just a long overdue honeymoon for us and mimosas were good too. Thank you for such a clean setting.

Good location, super clean. No cable tv

PROS-Property was super clean and has a gas grill that was wonderful. Bed was super comfortable. Close to the water. CONS-Down stairs furniture isn’t comfortable, you will need extension cords in order to use alarm clock and nightstand lamps in downstairs bedroom. And it does NOT have cable tv as advertised. The only channels you get are the major local networks. And none of the tvs are smart tvs so you can’t stream anything either, makes for long days when you have bad weather.
