Das neu aufgelistete Daufuskie Beach Overlook House liegt am Melrose Beach und wird von der Daufuskie Rental Group vertreten, die für wunderschöne Ferienhäuser und erstklassigen Gästeservice bekannt ist.

Das Daufuskie Beach Overlook House ist eines der wenigen Daufuskie Melrose-Strandhotels, bei denen es sich NICHT um eine Maisonette handelt. Das freistehende Haus mit vier Schlafzimmern und vier Bädern bietet einen geräumigen Wohnbereich, der speziell für Familien konzipiert wurde. Es verfügt über eine Reihe von Sitz- und Entspannungsbereichen, drei Esstische, Schlafgelegenheiten für 12 Personen und eine große, dreiseitig abgeschirmte Veranda mit direktem Blick auf den Atlantik und den wunderschönen Melrose-Strand. (Ganz ehrlich, das Haus hat den besten Blick auf den Strand von allen nahe gelegenen Immobilien.

Das Beach Overlook House verfügt über alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten, darunter eine voll ausgestattete Küche, Direkt-TV-Kabel-Service, kostenloses WIFI, Waschmaschine / Trockner, Mikrowelle, Grill, Liegestühle, Sonnenschirm und vieles mehr. Wir haben kürzlich ein Tagesbett und ein ausziehbares Einzelbett sowie zwei neue Esstische hinzugefügt.

Wie bereits erwähnt, verfügt das HOUSE über eine der begehrtesten Veranden in der Melrose on the Beach Cottage-Reihe! Es handelt sich um eine erweiterte Veranda mit drei Seiten, die um einen komfortablen Sitzbereich für eine Familiengruppe und einen Esstisch für 6 Personen erweitert wurde. Und es blickt direkt auf den Sandstrand von Melrose und den Atlantik! Kurz und einfach, es ist eine WOW-Ansicht. Jeder kann sich morgens versammeln, um einen Kaffee zu trinken und einen spektakulären Sonnenaufgang am Strand zu genießen.

Es gibt auch eine zweite Veranda mit bequemen Stühlen mit Blick auf die Melrose Cottage Row Seite und bietet einen weiteren angenehmen Ort zum Entspannen und Lesen.

Eine kürzliche Aktualisierung des Hauses bedeutet, dass alle Schlafzimmer neue Betten erhalten haben, einschließlich gesteppter Tagesdecken mit Küstenmotiven, neuer Kissen und hochwertiger Matratzenauflagen und Kissenbezüge. Es gibt auch viele andere neue Akzente, darunter Kunstwerke an der Küste, die ein ohnehin schon schönes Ferienhaus aufwerten.

This house is in a great location with the beach in your backyard. The house shows some age and signs of wear. The listing says the house accommodates 12 but there’s only 5 or 6 coffee cups, a couple of bowls, and a few glasses. Dinner plates were the only dish with enough quantity for our group of 9.There is mold or dust growing out of the vents in one of the bathrooms. There was long hair in two of the bathrooms, one in the sink, the other in the tub. The cleaning service leaves a little to be desired. There were some exterior repairs taking place and maybe they intend to update the interior as well.

Thanksgiving Get Away from Everything!

House is better than what the pictures show! Spectacular view and distance from the ocean! Wonderful screened in porch- where we enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal! Kitchen items were perfect for cooking dinner, even though I bought some items.

The house was a great size and I loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom. But a lot of the items seemed dated and worn. For example the beach chairs and the cushions on the outdoor furniture. The view was spectacular and we had our own private beach. Daufuskie was beautiful but it was sad to see all of the abandoned homes.

Beautiful Daufuskie!

My sisters and I met for a sisters trip and this home was perfect for our gathering! It had all the room we needed with places for privacy and a beautiful back porch for coming together, and talking and laughing! It was clean and easy to be in. I appreciated our communications with the property manager, Chrissy, she answered our questions quickly and with just the information we needed. I recommend this home and would definitely come back to it.

We were, quite honestly, shocked to see this review. First, there was no comment at all about the beautiful and well-equipped house and our impeccable service. Second, it is VERY inconsistent for not only all the reviews for this property, but for all other Melrose properties as well. We hope readers take the time to read other reviews and see that this one is very, very untypical. I'll also add that in the five years we've been in operation, this is the first 1 star review we've ever had! As far as Melrose, we do say openly that the resort is closed. However, the Beach Club Restaurant has re-opened and is getting rave reviews; the pool is open and pool fees were covered by this property owner, and the equestrian center is open and providing beach rides. And the beach is great! As I write this, every single Melrose rental property is occupied and our rental guests are loving their stay here. I will finally only add that we do remember this group as being difficult to work with and generally crabby. Daufuskie is not for everyone, and definitely not for these people. We are just sorry the renter chose to write such a non-constructive and unbalanced review that doesn't even address the property itself. Deborah Smith Daufuskie Rental Group

Golf Trip

This property was excellent. Not knowing the island, we did not understand the complexity of traveling to and from via water taxi. This lack of preparation made our agenda pretty expensive and stressful. It would have been helpful to know that we needed to bring groceries with us. We enjoyed the restaurant services that were open but it was quite limited. Overall it was a fun adventure. Hopefully this review will help you better educate your next guests.

Relaxation

We were looking to escape reality and find a place that offered us the opportunity for relaxation, Melrose on The Beach did just that! All beds were comfortable with nice, crisp white linen. The home was clean, but there was a very strong, musty odor when we arrived. All of the bedrooms have carpeting that looked in need of a deep cleaning or removal. This may have been the source of the smell. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all! We appreciated the beach chairs supplied by the owner. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

Beautiful location

Thank you for allowing us to rent this beautiful cottage. We come to Daufuskie each year and love it dearly. This cottage was oceanfront, provided generous room for a large family, and provided a relaxed vacation memory to remember. Pros-secluded beach, four bd/4ba, golf cart included, comfortable beds, beach chairs on porch, and INCREDIBLE back porch. Cons-the cottage has some NORMAL wear/tear that needs to be addressed (outlet loose from wall, large hole in porch screen, stove heating element on one eye not calibrated, door lock damaged etc) But I spoke w rental company and they are fixing these. This cottage is beautiful and you can’t beat the location. Recommend it highly. Also, recommend Bull River for private water taxi over and Mungeon Golf Carts if you need additional golf carts. Daufuskie is a magical place to vacation.

The property was in a great location and was as described. For 4th of July week, it was awesome to have a very uncrowded beach! We love Daufuskie! The property management team was very responsive to text messages and promptly addressed all our issues.Recommendations for the owner/property manager: -The property could use some updating of the baths and kitchen - particularly a restocking of kitchen items (there were only 6 spoons and limited glasses)-The refrigerator needs to be replaced with a larger one - or ideally a second refrigerator added. For a week long stay on an island with no real grocery options and 11 people, the smaller refrigerator was a challenge. We fortunately used our coolers for all our drinks, but buying ice on the island was sometimes a challenge as many places ran out-There were 6 nice folding beach chairs and several umbrellas/tents for the beach. Had we known this, it would have saved us from packing those.Would definitely rent this property again.

3 year Family Trip on Daufuskie

We stayed for 10 days! This property was nice, clean, and spacious for 5 adults and 2 toddlers + 4 additional visiting family members who had a smaller place down the street. We were able to cook and feed 11 people very easily here! The back porch (swing especially) was wonderful and the beach was close enough to walk to it multiple times a day, every day. There were also many great books and board games, which was great as we experienced many rainy days! The property came with a electric golf cart to my surprise (we were expecting gas) and communication was good. The kitchen is very well stocked and has just about everything you need. Now, as for the "hiccups" that are noteworthy for future guests... Make sure you bring dish tabs, laundry detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels. I bought the $140 stock the house package thinking it would help with our 10 days stay, but 2 dish tabs was kind of a joke. Its my fault - I should have looked more closely at the details. It was not worth it. We ended up buying a lot of the stuff again for that long of a trip. I feel that quantities of provided items should be adjusted to the length of stay. I even offered to pay more for more TP and PT, ungranted. For how much we paid for this rental, it was just annoying to constantly feel that basic needs were not met, and I thought I had planned well. Beware that there are cockroaches - dead and alive. One room in particular, especially the bathroom. When I turned the light on in the middle of the night, they would scatter... Just a little eww. I know this is expected in SC but the house needs another treatment. One of the 2 beds in the same room was not supportive at all. Both my husband and I ached after sleeping on it. This is an objective statement, so take it as you will. The other 5 beds in the house were fine. And finally, the hole in the screen porch - there are many reviews about it so I know the company knows about it. Not a biggie, however one night we heard something weird and caught a very fat, not shy at all racoon pulling my diaper bag through the little hole and took off with it. When I got it back, I found there was a granola bar wrapper in it - just a wrapper, but he could smell it. Be very careful not to leave food on the porch!! The big screen in porch is SO SO NICE but it gives a false since of security when there are large furry locals able to visit you after hours. I'm very glad my kids were not out there!

Great stay

We planned a short girls trip to Daufuskie - our first time there! The location of the house is awesome for its beautiful beach access and views. It’s conveniently located to the bar / restaurant near the Freeport Marina. We thoroughly enjoyed the porch and the layout of the house was very conducive for hanging out together. My (minor) critiques are as follows: the group wished we had a few basic seasonings in the house so that we didn’t have to bring everything over on the ferry. This was communicated up front, so we were at least prepared. Water pressure was a little weak and the bathrooms in particular could use an update (again, something we expected based on the listing and communication). We were missing top sheets on the beds which would have been nice since it was a bit too warm for a comforter. Finally, there were a few dead bugs in the house when we arrived. Probably to be expected since it is a very natural environment. :) we had a great time and would gladly come back and stay!

Nice rental…awesome beach access

Loved the location. Melrose seems to be the better of the beaches on Daufuskie though there are lots of great water views. Not much to do on the island, so go planning to relax or explore nature. The company who managed the property were wonderful. Very helpful and great communicating with us. A couple of small cleanliness issues but we addressed those. The place needs a little TLC especially two of the bathrooms and there’s a hole in the porch screen that is a nighttime access to a critter of some kind Lol but overall we were pleased. They installed a new washer and dryer during our stay which was a bit aggravating as it took up 2 1/2 hours of my time because I didn’t like the idea of people being in my place though they were extremely nice. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent again.

Relaxation at it's best

My whole family was so relaxed once we arrived and have never been so relaxed in our entire lives and I'm relaxed when I go up north while in Wisconsin. This is a whole new level of relaxation. We will definitely be coming back year after year. We fell in love so much that we started to inquire about properties while we were there. So hopefully soon we will have a place of our own in the near future so we can come there more often.

Beautiful view! Perfect location. This was our first visit to Daufuskie Island, we really enjoyed our stay. We would rent this unit again.

First Visit to Daufuskie

This property was clean and well kept. The boarded up cottages and buildings in Melrose are a little concerning but don't detract from this property overall. The owner or property manager should consider including a membership to the pool to entice visitors.

Would recommend

We really enjoyed our stay in the Melrose Beach home. This was our first time to Daufuskie Island and we absolutely loved it. The home was just as advertised and the location could not have been better. It was just steps away from the beach with a great view. I loved how each bedroom had an attached bath. Perfect for multiple guests. The home is showing its age in a few places (mainly the master bath) but nothing that would detour me from staying there again. The property manager was very accommodating and helpful, answering any questions we had. She even baked us a loaf of bread since we came over without any. Our week on the island went by way too quickly and we are looking forward to our next visit in the near future. I would absolutely recommend this property.
