Unique castle experience

Three generations staying in a renovated chateau (with a secret cellar) in glorious countryside with a charming and most helpful host: what's not to like?! And the donkeys are charming and friendly too. A holiday like no other...

Summer holiday

A stunning chateau, absolutely huge with everything you need. Yves is a wonderful host, very approachable and there if you need him. All the rooms are comfortable and oozing with history. The garden and pool are lovely and the donkeys were much loved by all the guests! I cannot recommend this historic chateau enough, I look forward to returning. Thank you Yves for a delightful holiday for all my family and friends.

A fabulous stay at Chateau Bouvees

A perfect property for a large family holiday. We are a family of 13 and everyone enjoyed the space offered at the Chateau. The pool is fabulous - the kids where entertained morning to night with pool fun, the donkeys, chickens and bikes. Such a lot on offer from the wonderful host Yves. The property is a rustic old chateau which must be Yves life work in the restoration. It is an interesting and historic property and we all loved our stay there. It is a lovely spot with dining facilities to accommodate our large family both inside and out. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay.

Les photos ne sont pas du tout à la hauteur de la beauté de ce château. Un vaste domaine joliment décoré, des recoins, des couloirs, toutes les petites marches, lumières tamisées, les chambres spacieuses et propres. L'extérieur est vaste également, le coin des enfants adorable, nous avons joué tous les soirs à la pétanque sur le terrain éclairé, l'espace piscine est très agréable également, les virées à vélos mis à notre disposition, le coffre de déguisements etc.Les seuls bémols : la piscine vraiment trop froide, c'est la première année où les enfants ont hésité où refusé de se baigner. Il manquait des grands moules à quiche/tarte car à 13/15 personnes la préparation des repas étaient laborieuse, d'où la facilité d'utiliser des moules.Un conseil pour les parents qui ont un bébé, pensez à prendre un babyphone, les murs sont tellement épais et si vous êtes au rdc où à l'exterieur, vous n'entendrez pas les pleurs de votre enfant.Ha ouiiii j'oubliais les ânes et les poules, un plaisir pour tous de les voir tous les jours. Le propriétaire est très sympa et disponible.Voilà un séjour atypique grandement apprécié par les petits et grands.

Vacances en famille au château

Nous avons passés une semaine merveilleuse dans ce château Gascon du XVIème siècle qui a tenu ses promesses... Yves est un hôte fort sympathique qui est généreux et disponible. Un homme de goût dont le château est facile à vivre et l'on s'y sent vraiment bien. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu de qualité qui convient parfaitement à une famille nombreuse comme la nôtre. idéalement situé au carrefour de nombreux villages et lieux à voir dans cette région magnifique. Ce château et son propriétaire, sont à l'image de ce pays Gersois...tout à la fois simple, solide et accueillant.

Une semaine magique

Nous étions 16 ( grands parents, enfants et petits enfants & conjoints) à être ravi.e.s de notre séjour familial. Le château est un magnifique endroit. Yves l'a restauré avec beaucoup de goût et avec des matériaux sains. Nous avons aimé les ânes, la piscine, le parc et ses jolis végétaux, les repas sous le tilleul, le calme, les mirabelles, les explications de notre hôte sur l'histoire de sa demeure, la proximité de Mauvezin. Bref, le château de Bouvées est un endroit où l'on a forcément envie de revenir ! Merci à Yves pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité 🙂

Une belle semaine de vacances dans…

… un superbe château rénové avec goût et passion par Yves. Immense cuisine très équipée (2 réfrigérateurs et 1 congélateur) et chambres confortables s’ouvrant sur la terrasse et le tilleul centenaire. Parfaitement adapté pour nos 3 familles (6 adultes, 10 enfants et ados). Nombreux vélos à disposition. À moins de 10 min en voiture de Mauvezin (marché, boucherie, boulangerie, supermarché). Les ânes d’Yves ont fait le bonheur des plus jeunes (mention spéciale à Lulu et Trotro) et la piscine de tous. Un grand merci aux poules pour leurs œufs frais.

Excellent!

Magnifique endroit mélangeant l'ancien avec la modernité (chambres confortables, nombreuses salle de bains,...), très jolie piscine avec de nombreux transats pour se reposer, grande table avec lumière pour passer de belles soirées, vélos à disposition, trampoline, table de ping-pong,... un bonheur pour les enfants et les parents! Et tout cela à proximité de tous les commerces (boulangerie, boucherie,...). Merci à Yves pour son accueil et bonne continuation dans la suite de l'aménagement du château!

Séjour enchanteur!

Magnifique château du 16ème rénové avec beaucoup de goût et d'authenticité (et confort en prime) par un hôte très sympathique et passionné. Nombreuses distractions sur place avec, outre la piscine, une mention particulière pour le ping-pong dans la chapelle et les ânes pour les plus jeunes. Tous les âges ont adoré : merci à Yves!

Geweldig verblijf op prachtige locatie

Wij hebben in het kasteel gelogeerd in juli 2021 met twee gezinnen in totaal 9 mensen. Er konden met gemak nog 2 families bij. Het kasteel is heerlijk ruim en koel. Binnen heeft het alles wat je nodig hebt, de keuken is zeer compleet uitgerust, er is een wasmachine een droger en twee grote koelkasten. De yogaruimte is heerlijk voor wie s ochtends nog even een uurtje wil sporten. Iedere dag verse eitjes van de kippen. Maaltijden onder de grote boom op het gazon. Het zwembad en de trampoline zijn heel erg veel gebruikt. De ezwltjes zijn zeer vriendelijk. Ik kan zo nog uren doorgaan. Maar samengevat. Echt waanzinnig. Volgend jaar weer!

Un moment d’histoire

C’est un site chargé d’histoire parfaitement entretenu et restauré par Yves qui a su nous partager sa passion pour ce lieu unique. Merci à lui. Le château est très confortable tout en gardant son authenticité. On ne se lasse pas d’écouter la nature, contempler la beauté environnante et l’architecture du château installé sous le tilleul centenaire. Un séjour inoubliable !

Yves, the owner is really helpful

We booked this lovely property for 2 weeks in August but the night before we travelled the UK government placed travel restrictions on France. So we couldn't go - I've given it 5 stars because Yves, the owner was great to deal with and very helpful communicating with us so that we could claim from our insurance for our cancellation. So we are going to hopefully book and try again to go next summer. Thank Yves!

Séjour idéal

Le château et ses commodités sont très agréables. A 15 toute la semaine avec 11 ados de12 à 20 ans et seulement 4 adultes, le lieu était idéal pour la réussite de notre séjour. De grands espaces intérieurs et extérieurs, au calme en pleine nature avec 5 ânes en voisins directs! Un très beau lieu avec tout ce qu’il faut pour s’amuser.

Meer dan fantastisch!

Oud kasteel heel mooi luxueus opgeknapt, Geweldig leuke ambiance, schoon, smaakvol, verzorgd. Schitterende locatie, mooie tuin met 6 schattige ezeltjes, heerlijk zwembad. Heel attente vriendelijke beheerder. Mooie omgeving, leuke dorpjes, heel geschikt voor wandelen, fietsen en tennis (goede gravelbanen in Beaumont). Supermarkt 5 min met de auto. Totale aanrader. We waren met 15 man en een baby, alles was aanwezig, bedje kinderstoel.

Beautiful chateau, perfect for large groups

What a fantastic venue. We were a party of 14 comprising of 4 families with 5 children under 16 and stayed for one week at the beginning of August. The chateau was beautifully presented, full of character and history and very spacious. The accommodation was absolutely perfect for our group. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all lovely and decorated tastefully. Such a stunning setting in beautiful countryside, remote yet close enough to the nearby shops, restaurants and supermarket. The children absolutely loved feeding the donkeys with carrots and leftover bread and were constantly entertained by the indoor and outdoor games, trampoline, pool etc. Lovely outdoor area to dine at night and we had great fun using the disco ball, smoke machine and dressing up clothes! The weather was hot and sunny every day so we made good use of the pool and sun loungers. Yves was a fantastic host and went out of his way to service us with anything we required. We would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine. Le château est très bien décoré et aménagé. La campagne environnante est magnifique. Yves est un hôte très accueillant et attentionné. Il y a tout un tas d activités à faire sur place: partie de pétanque, de ping pong, piscine, trampoline, boum, balade en vélo,... ou tout simplement profiter du calme pour se reposer. Nous recommandons fortement cette location pour des vacances en famille.

2 weeks of magnificent French countryside idyll

We were three generations – 15 in all with 7 kids ranging from 2 to 10 – and we spent 2 weeks at the castle. The castle and the location were everything we hoped for. Beautiful countryside with countless sunflower fields is surrounding the castle. The kids loved the donkeys and loved feeding them leftover baguettes. The castle itself is renovated in a way that enables modern living while keeping the authenticity and rawness of the past. Eating in the huge gardens throughout the day with the castle as backdrop was worth pictures every time. The chapel with its new floors were made in to a table tennis room, and I’ve never played in such a special setting before. The pool cooled the us all during the hot days (up to 35 degrees), and the castle is packed with indoor and outdoor games, which entertain all ages. Yves is an extremely friendly and warm host, who greeted us with a thorough walk through. The castle is huge – even for a group of 15. The local town of Mauvazin has got everything you need close by. Good shopping and nice restaurants. We really loved our two week of southern French countryside idyll, and if you’re looking for the same type of holiday, I don’t believe you can find a better place than this.

Incredible building and wonderful accommodation and situation.

We were a large extended family of three generations with several children and we could not have wished for a better rental. We have all been comparing it to previous holiday rentals we have stayed in together and agreed that nowhere has come close. We're not even going to try and better this - we're coming back again next year - it's our perfect holiday! From the chateau itself, to the bikes available for use, the pool, the trampoline, the basketball and table tennis, the animals and the nearby towns - we loved every second! Yves is a lovely, helpful man and it was a pleasure to have met him. We can't wait to come back!

There were 3 families and some friends staying, a total of 15, 13 adults and 2 teenagers. the Castle was fantastic, the pictures really do not do it justice, the rooms are lovely, the large hall was superb, there is also a downstairs 'party room' which has a large chest containing lights, mirror ball, smoke machine along with another chest full of dressing up clothes, absolutely brilliant. the pool area is large and enough sunbeds for all of us, the pool is big enough for all of us to be in the pool at once and one depth allowing for many pool volleyball matches! Table tennis is in the old chapel and a huge covered area for boules. the outside eating is so relaxing with a very large BBQ allowing the evening to drift away. The town is only a 30 minute walk away but bikes are on site for those who want them. There was an issue on the first day, it was significant but after one call to the owner the problem was soon in hand and being sorted with excellent communication. if you are looking for a very large holiday home for 15 plus people then look no more. we will be back.

Idyllique

Un splendide château, extrêmement bien conservé, entretenu et aménagé, au milieu d'une nature apaisante. Idéal avec des enfants (la délicieuse piscine est sécurisée). Yves, l'hôte si sympathique qui réside à proximité, est aux petits soins pour ses vacanciers et ne compte pas ses efforts pour rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible. La salle de yoga a définitevement conquis les adeptes de notre groupe.

Great place. Great holiday.

Four families. Eight adults, seven kids. Beautiful, spacious, historic house. A week full of barbecues, red wine, lunch under the tree, white wine, sitting by the pool, rose wine, table tennis tournaments, beer, chickens on the outdoor rotisserie, cycling for baguettes, endless hide and seek, stroking the donkey (not a euphemism), dancing in the party room, ancient stone spiral staircases, fantastic weather and beautiful countryside all culminating in a ferocious synchronised swimming competition and some foully competed swimming races. A thousand memories and a million photos. And as for Monsieur Courvasier - an absolutely perfect host. Never intrusive but there when you need him.
