We are thrilled that you and your family loved your stay here and plan on joining us again! All of our continued efforts as well as hard work is going in the right direction. We would also like to address a couple of your concerns and comments made in regards to the code and parking. Upon your arrival when I pointed out the chalk board with the code as well as other pertinent information, it would have been ideal to let me know at that time. It would have been my pleasure and only taken me moments to create a new code. The placing of the code on the chalk board is intended primarily for all the guests other than the one that booked the home. We understand that the person that booked the unit will know the code since they are the creators of our four digit code. Our reservations range anywhere from 1-6 guests and in providing the code on the board helps all others in the party have it on hand. Also, this particular unit is above ground level and the chalk board is out of plane site so, people outside the home cannot see the board that sits so far back in the space. The last thing we ever want is for someone to sleep with a nervous feeling. Onto the parking. We have never had anyone state that the parking situation is an issue let alone a treacherous situation. If anything our past guests have provided great response that we have off street parking in the city of Chicago. Anytime when backing out a vehicle we must all take caution and mindfulness on what is behind us. We also want to point out that less than 50 feet away from our driveway there are street light signals. If we wait for the red light, it stops on coming traffic which allows any vehicle to drive out comfortable an safely. We are also happy to report that we have never had any incidences occur in regards to driving or parking on our lot. We do have the convenience of the police and fire being in the neighborhood, but they are not next door as they are located three blocks away. As we take every review seriously and want to maintain the best possible hospitality and comfort, the next time you book with us, please remind us not to place your code on the board and we will gladly oblige your request. We work extremely hard and put forth every effort to make this experience as delightful and comfortable in our means. We were not notified about the heat till the next morning, after the guests had spent their first night. At that time I spent a couple of hours on the phone eagerly attempting to bring in an HVAC technician the day before thanksgiving . I was able to locate about three options and (come on, that's almost impossible). We asked our guests when would be a good time to let them in since I was out of town myself for my uncles funeral. They expressed that 5:00 p.m. would work for them. As the day went on I consistently attempted to bring in our preferred technician that had access to the property. The technicians arrived at 4:00 p.m. and resolved the issue prior to the guests arriving at 5:00. It's unfortunate that the guests will only provide you with their version and not the reality. They were probably cold for two hours because they spent the remainder of their trip with family near by and touring the city as well as museums. Upon my arrival after the guests had departed, the heat was working properly and I'm not sure what the issue was. Although we wanted them to trouble shoot with us and simply remove the face of the thermostat, (not dismantle), it was only to see if it needed a new battery. It was such a fluke thing and I'm terribly disappointed that our review was given a 1 star. We did refund 50% but they wanted a full refund. How do we refund 100% when the heat was working upon our arrival. It simply wasn't fair.
