I spent a week in London. My daughter lives a few blocks away, and this flat was close to her, the tube, overland, and bus stops. It was easy to get anywhere in the city. The view was also great. Keep in mind that you have to climb six flights of stairs so pack light!

We thought the location was great. Easy access on the tube to get to the flat and the northern line got us everywhere we wanted to go. There were groceries and restaurants just steps outside the front door. The view from the kitchen table was my favorite part of our stay! There were a number of fans in the unit to help with the heat. We got quick responses from the manager and Cathy when we needed support.

Fantastic location!

This apartment was perfect for my family of 4 and super convenient to the Archway Tube station. There were 4 grocery stores within a block of the apartment and a few restaurants scattered around. The apartment was exactly what we were hoping for and made a great homebase for all of our adventures for a week. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to London.

Would stay there again!

Cute place and would stay there again. Showing some age but quick walk to Archway station and a few grocery markets. We didn't eat at any restaurants nearby except the coffee shop by station. As stated in another review, lots of steps to 5th floor....like out of breath when you reach the top. Had everything we needed!

Lovely spot!

This is a really cute flat with an outstanding view. Beds are very comfortable (pull-out couch in the living room) and kitchen is well equipped. Three grocery stores across the street (Aldi is best) and very close to the tube station. The street itself isn't particularly charming, but if you walk up behind the tube station to Highgate, it's lovely. All in all, a very good place. We had some trouble with the hot water but the owner was extremely responsive and it got fixed promptly. Warmly recommended.

Overall good value rental

Pros- good location, great views, easy access to underground and other amenities. Cons- no lift, flat located on fifth floor with 93 steps. A real challenge. No blinds on south window exposures, bedroom and kitchen. Conclusion -all in all a good solid rental.

Thank you for your feedback! I know the stairs can be an issue for some and so that's why I make a point to address that in the property description. There are window coverings available for those windows, so I will add that to my site. Most guests are fine with that although if you want to sleep later, blocking out early morning light helps.

Great location and lovely apartment

The location was great! We bought a travel card and easily explored all of London from our very close subway station.  The apartment with its many stairs had the most amazing view. It was great making a coffee in the well equipped kitchen each morning and looking out over the city. The apartment was quiet, with lovely bedding and two very comfortable mattresses.  There were a couple of small supermarkets nearby and some restaurants. We made many meals at the apartment and always had what we needed to cook a great meal.  This was our first experience using home away and it was a great one. Our girls will fondly remember their first stay in London and the place we called home.

Delightful

First visit to London and having a comfortable place to stay was a huge benefit. The flat was relaxing, cozy and served our needs. Close to the tube, a few grocery stores and restaurants. Cathy was great to work with and check-in was very easy. There is no lift in the building so stairs were the only way to get up. Not an inconvenience. Mind your luggage. We booked our return trip to London already and will be staying here again. Thank you Cathy.

Charm, View, Location!

My teenage daughters and I enjoyed a six night stay here in December. We found it conveniently located to the Archway tube station and therefore a 20 minute ride to the central London attractions we wanted to see. The flat was roomy for three, and the kitchen feature was nice for eating some meals there. It has a simple, cozy charm. We loved the view! The stairs are a challenge with luggage, and we had a lot, but we were prepared for it, and it was worth it for the affordability. (Do take this into consideration if you have very young children or physical limitations that make stairs a challenge) Also, as others have noted, the stairwell itself is musty, and in need of carpet replacement, but we did not feel this reflected on the flat at all. We would definitely stay here again!

I have been in contact with the property manager and told them about the carpet on the stairs. They did repaint the entire area earlier this year and that was a noticeable positive difference. Fantastic View!

You can’t judge a book by it’s cover. The same goes for this flat. The entry is a little rough around the edges, but once you enter the stairwell and ascend five floors, its a safe little haven with a fantastic view! I stayed here six weeks. It really felt like home and I didn’t want to leave. Enjoyed the view every morning with my cup of coffee. The bed was comfortable with a view at my feet. Neighborhood conveniences were great and the Tube stop was close by. The flat manager made me feel welcome and was there if I needed anything. I would recommend a stay in this flat.

Wonderful Stay

I chose this property because of the amazing views and the many positive reviews it had received in the past. We were not disappointed. The new owner honored the previous booking details and was very easy to work with and had great communication. The apartment is exactly as pictured, very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The view is wonderful and perfect to sit at the table and have coffee in the morning. The neighborhood is great, not touristy which we love. It is so close to the tube station and links to anywhere we needed to go in London. There are several restaurants in the neighborhood, and groceries nearby, it has everything you need right there. It is in the city, there is some street noise which we're not used to and bring ear plugs when we travel. The apartment building occupants are very quiet. It is a 5th floor walk up as advertised, so pack accordingly. We had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future!

A pleasant interval in London

We initially had a problem accessing the flat, as the property manager was not on site as we'd been told she would be. That was resolved quickly enough, and the manager was responsive to other queries we had. While the flat was clean, and adequate for our needs, it was a bit "shabby" and "tired" - i.e. uneven wood floors and wood countertops that had a sticky residue I was unable to remove. Also, the washing machine "died" during our stay and the manager was unable to get it repaired/replaced, leaving us without one for the last week of our stay (fortunately, I'm used to doing hand wash while traveling so managed just fine!) We had adequate warning about walking six flights of stairs so were prepared for that - and it was worth it for the view!

I feel the need to respond to what I feel should have been a much higher rated stay by the guest. The flat is in a 100 plus year old building and the common areas are admittedly a bit run down, but there is work planned to upgrade it. I personally have no control over the timing of that as it is a property management issue. Like the rest of the building, flat has original wooden floors and while aged, there are no safety issues regarding that. Shabby is not a word I would use to describe my property. My concierge was extremely attentive to their many requests, far more requests than is usual with my guests. As to the washing machine, yes it finally gave up the ghost and it was replaced as soon as was practicable. I should mention that the flat is on the sixth floor and it took a few days to arrange for enough strong guys to carry the replacement up the stairs. To summarize, most of my guests have been very happy with their stay there but if someone is seeking a brand new place with 24/7 service; I would suggest an upscale hotel with the corresponding higher price.

Sehr schöne Wohnung im belebten Archway

Sehr schöne Wohnung, ausreichend für eine Familie mit 2 Kindern. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind mit der Tube in ca. 20 Min. zu erreichen. Toller Ausgangspunkt für Sightseeing. Das Viertel ist sehr lebendig und multikulturell. Wir haben eine schöne Woche verlebt.

Echtes Londonfeeling

Das gemütliche Appartment hält, was es verspricht. Blick über London, kuschelige Atmosphäre und Dank Underground einen guten Anschluss ins Zentrum. Obwohl wir mit unseren beiden Kindern da waren, hat der Platz ausgereicht. Auch das Viertel hat uns positiv überrascht: ein sehr normales studentisches Lebensgefühl mit allem, was man braucht vor der Tür. Wir empfehlen die Pizzeria Che Chosa direkt gegenüber.

Delightful Stay

Week long vacation in London with wife and son. Flat was great for the three of us. Flat was cozy and charming. The views of London skyline were memorable. The local area had small shops, an Aldi’s grocery store, pub and was a three blocks from the Tube station. All provided a great experience. The flat is one hour by tube from Heathrow and 30 min to downtown. All convenient. The flat had all the necessities you need for a multi-day stay; washer, stove, etc. There isn’t a lift to the top floor so the stairs gave us a good workout. Nothing too difficult. Awesome views!

Charming flat with amazing views from multiple rooms. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was close to the subway and a market which was great for us. Be ready to climb several flights of stairs. It is well worth it though!

Archway flat

Flat is bright and cheerful with everything needed including a dishwasher. The underground station is two blocks away and the busy transit center has buses to many London locations. The neighborhood is fairly noisy at night and is not within easy walking distance of top sites of interest. The five flights of stairs will keep you in shape for your sightseeing adventures. The flat was clean, but stairs and hallway were quite dirty and smelled of mildew.

A cosy flat with a beautiful view on the city

The flat is very nice and cosy. It is a very good flat for short stays as tourists. The improvements I suggest are: a better clening of the kitchen, the expired food of prevoius tenants should be throwen away (I had to do it myself), non stick pans are missing.

Very nice apartment in excellent location for our London vacation

The location and convenience of this apartment is excellent, and helped to make our London vacation very special. It is located minutes from the Tube Station (Northern Line) but also close to neighborhood stores and coffee shops that enabled us to easily get around as well as find the necessities for our meals and snacks. Cathy was very interactive and responsive throughout the whole rental process. She reached out to us right away, and continued to provide helpful information all the way through our trip. As noted, this apartment does have a number of stairs. This was not a problem for us and we rather liked having the view and upper level unit. However you need to be prepared for this, mainly with your luggage. The only suggestion that I would make is the staircase (common area) is getting a bit run-down and could use some upgrading. This is not a reflection of the apartment itself which is in very good condition with nice upgrades throughout. But this would be a nice improvement to the overall experience, but also recognize, not an easy improvement to be made by the owner. Overall we were very happy and satisfied with our choice.

Perfect stay in London

We loved our stay at this apartment. The convenience of having a major tube station just a two minute walk away was amazing, we could get anywhere in central London in just 20 minutes! The apartment itself had everything that we could've asked for, from an ironing board to extra food in the cupboards. Cathy was incredibly helpful when we were settling in, more than we expected for a Christmas arrival. Overall, we'd highly recommend this property! We know where we are going to stay on our next trip to London!

We purchased from the previous owner who also rented out the property and we are continuing the tradition of being able to share our place with others. We have many repeat customers and that speaks to the charm and wonderful views from its fifth floor perch.
We reside in California but consider London to be a second home and a very special place for us as a couple.

If you want to stay in a real London neighborhood vs. touristy this is the place for you! The underground is a 5 minute walk away and you can be in central London in 15 minutes!
There are great restaurants locally and an outdoor market on Saturdays in the square next to the tube station.
If stairs are an issue, please note this is a 5 floor walkup with no lift service.
