Beautiful apartment with thoughtful amenities. Welcoming hosts and good location. The owners have great taste in furnishings and style. Local bakery is unbelievably good. Attractive local environment, including wonderful windmills and good location for exploring.

We stayed in the apartment for 5 nights in July, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is spacious and in a quiet location, with a couple of good restaurants nearby, and an easy walk to the windmill museum area. It was also easy to travel by train into Amsterdam, and it felt very peaceful after returning from a day sight seeing. Highly recommended!

Lovely and quiet cottage located in the courtyard of a beautiful Zaans house. Fred & Kelly are very thoughtful and friendly hosts, who we enjoyed chatting with. They gave some handy tips, like, taking the small ferry over the river Zaan. All amenities (bakery, AH supermarket, restaurants, free parking) are close by. The Zaanse Schans is at easy walking distance. Comfy beds, clean cottage, nice sauna. Would definitely stay again at this historic Vrbo cottage.

Lovely getaway

a charming well appointed apartment. Hosts provide excellent instructions as well as plenty of tourist info in several languages. There are great grocery stores and windmills within a short walk, and both a superb Nepalese restaurant and outstanding chocolate shop within steps. Transportation was easy and we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic!

Prime location for being on the train line and a quick ride into the City. Close to the windmills and cute restaurants. Fred and Kelly were so great and their bnb is absolutely adorable and stocked with everything you would need for your stay! I would come back in and will be recommending to everyone as a place to stay when they visit Amsterdam.

We had an excellent week, very clean and comfortable with a great bed. Situated very close to the windmills and convenient for train and bus. Fred and Kelly were lovely hosts and did all they could to ensure our stay has been memorable. Thank you.

The property is just lovely, Kelly and Fred Snel are very friendly and their guesthouse was warm and welcoming and full of little gifts. We enjoyed our stay very much. The sauna and the jacuzzi were great to have in the evenings after strolling around Amsterdam. It was a great time and we regret that we couldn’t stay longer.

Genuinely perfect stay - Fred and Kelly are wonderful hosts, with recommendations of activities, and a very smooth check in process; they are also very good at communicating over message. Wonderful stay - SO convenient!

A warm, charming home - beautifully appointed & with wonderful amenities! It’s an easy walk to windmills & the train. Amsterdam Centraal Station is just a 15-minute ride, & Schiphol Airport just 15 minutes beyond. Our hosts welcomed us with chocolates & champagne & waved us a fond farewell at the gate ❤️🇳🇱❤️

Celebrating 29 years together

Beautiful place to spend our 29th anniversary. The accommodations were amazing. We wanted for nothing. Kelley and Fred were wonderful hosts and the home was so comfortable and in a great location with easy access to trains and trams and bikes. You won’t go wrong staying here. Perfect Place to Stay

Our stay here was wonderful. The house is beautiful and clean with a cute little garden. Plenty of good dining options nearby, a well stocked grocery store, a short walk to the train station and just over 15 minutes to Central Station, Amsterdam. We also took the train into Haarlem (approx. 30 min with a transfer) and enjoyed a great day exploring and shopping. Fred & Kelly are lovely people and very helpful with anything you may need. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay in a nice, quaint, clean guesthouse

We loved our stay here. The guesthouse was very clean and shows exactly as the pictures online. Fred and Kelli are great hosts—lots of communication but also don’t bother you. 8 min from the train, number of restaurants within 5-10 walk (try Kathmandu) as well as two grocery stores. We enjoyed our week, travelling into Amsterdam (20 min by train) as well as other nearby towns. Very convenient. We will definitely stay here again on our future trips to Amsterdam

Out of all the vacation rentals I’ve stayed at across the world, this was definitely in my top 3. The location is a bit far from central Amsterdam, but it is very easy to take the train to Amsterdam Centraal and get there in 20 minutes. The guesthouse itself was absolutely grand. Everything was spotless, the kitchen had every amenity I could think of needing, the bed was very comfortable, ample natural sunlight but also private, and of course...the Finnish Sauna. It's also a 5-minute walk to a large grocery store, and the neighborhood is very safe and aesthetically beautiful. Fred and Kelly are also wonderful hosts. They were there to greet me in person and available to see me off when I left. They really paid attention to the details and made my stay memorable. I hope to stay at their lovely guesthouse again if I'm ever back in Amsterdam, but I couldn't recommend their place more to anyone who is visiting. Thank you both!

Wonderful little "house" for us to stay in. Very quiet and safe. Has all the ammenities you require PLUS more! Our host had fresh roses with chocolate to greet us when we entered. The washing machine was a huge blessing! The yard was beautiful - exactly as the the pictures show. The bed was very comfortable and the Jacuuzi glorious after walking. Our hosts were pleasant and accommodating. There is a bus stop close by as well as the train station which is about a 10 minute walk. You cannot lose staying at this wonderful apartment!

We were delighted with our accommodations and would love to stay here again if we are visiting the greater Amsterdam area in the future! Our hosts home is adjacent to the cottage and readily available if needed, but we felt a great sense of privacy. It was quite chilly during our week's stay, so the sauna was the perfect antidote, and the electric fireplace kept things warm and cozy. It was quite handy having a washer and dryer on hand, since we had weeks of travel ahead of us. The village is very picturesque with its operative windmills and interesting, as we learned it was the first industrial area of the Netherlands. You have easy access to the train station for the short ride to Amsterdam, or for that matter, anywhere in Europe. There's a wonderful Indian restaurant just steps away from the cottage and a well-stocked, full-service grocery about 15 minutes walk--don't forget to bring one of the shopping bags your hosts provide for their guests. We highly recommend this beautifully restored, clean and comfortable cottage to travellers who want to have a taste of more rural Netherlands, and at the same time have easy access to Amsterdam and beyond.

Quaint Cottage

Wonderful trip to Amsterdam and areas. We had a car for 4 days of 10. Parking was not a problem. We parked a very short block away each day. This cottage is cozy and very charming. We cooked breakfast daily and ate in for dinner often. All was easy. Our hosts were very attentive and caring. The cottage is a 10 minute walk to the train station and about 15 minute walk to Zaan Schans. I do not hesitate in recommending this cottage to future travelers. Thank you to Fred and Kelly. Patricia

Absolutely loved our stay at this charming B&B in Zaanse Schsans. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home.
