Through the front door and to the right, the sitting room is full of character with deep green walls, an exposed ceiling beam and a wood-burning stove set into a stone fireplace. The coffee table, bookcase and other wooden pieces have been hand-crafted locally in Dunster from spalted beech, giving the room a warm, individual feel. The adjacent dining area is home to a spalted beech live-edge dining table that comfortably seats four, and bi-fold doors open directly onto the paved patio outside. The kitchen is well-equipped with sage green units, oak worktops and a Belfast sink, with a bistro-style breakfast table with two chairs tucked into the window. A pine staircase with handrail leads to the first floor. The layout has a split landing with a small step between levels, worth bearing in mind for those with limited mobility or young children. The main bedroom is a generous double with a super-king size bed, an original cast iron fireplace and a wall-mounted TV. The twin room is simply styled with matching sage-painted panelled headboards and garden views. The shower room with toilet and hand basin serves both bedrooms. From the patio area, a small footbridge crosses the stream, leading through the garden to the rear gate and the nearby parking area.

The sitting room has a wood-burning stove, a starter basket of logs and kindling will be provided. Further logs can be purchased in the village if required.
The cottage is heated by very efficient electric underfloor heating throughout the downstairs. In the bedrooms there are modern night storage heaters. There's a heated towel rail in the bathroom.
The cottage has WiFi available at no extra cost. Bed linen and towels are included; if you'd like to take towels to the beach or out with you, please bring your own.

Outdoor Description The cottage has a paved stone terrace directly off the sitting-dining room, furnished with a table and chairs for outdoor dining. The terrace sits alongside the Hawkcombe Stream, separated by a low stone wall - a lovely spot to sit with a morning coffee and listen to the water; though worth being mindful of with young children - please note that children must be supervised at all times. There is a further garden area across the stream (accessed via footbridge) which includes a selection of mature shrubs, ferns and flowering plants that give the whole setting a lush feel.
Porlock village is just a short walk away, with a good selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
Parking There is free roadside parking (unallocated) available a short distance from the cottage (approx 50 metres away along the road, or much more direct via back garden gate and across the pedestrian footbridge) There are EV charging points available in the Porlock Central Car Park.
